Joy. Her name is Joy. She’s on the right with the smile. And you’re right - their songs are very vocal-centric. Amazing harmonies and pure vocal chemistry.
Red Velvet is going to be the book end of an era I never want to end. A lot of K-pop these days is so performative, which isn't terrible, but with groups like Mamamoo and Red Velvet, we heard some of the best vocals in the industry. No doubt there are some one off members in the current era that can sing, but those two groups are so strong as individuals and even more as a unit.
This video was a second shot. They sang about 40 minutes without stops, and the Killing Voice staff asked them to reduce the running time. So they omitted some of the songs and sang again live, which you watched.. I am a huge fan of their layering harmony.
While I thought Bad Boy and Psycho would never be topped, IMO they did exactly that with Cosmic, which blew me right out of the water. Just sad Cosmic was not released when they did this performance. Red Velvet Domination indeed.
A lot of reactors of red velvet on TH-cam said that they have different textures, different colors, and very distinct voices with each other, that you can tell who's singing. But if you put their 5 beautiful voices together, they fit perfectly. It creates a sound that gives satisfaction to the listeners. Especially when they are harmonising. And not just that, the group can pull off different concepts, but gives the same RED VELVET feels on their music. That's why i stan this group so much. Happy 10th girls
As I am sure you already realize, Wendy is the Main Vocalist of the group (and personally, my Ult Bias in all of music). If I go on about her, I would be typing this up all day. Vocally, she could absolutely leave the rest of the members in the dust. She has some solo stuff to check out and some collabs with other people (most notably with John Legend). But she LOVES her members and would never do that to them. She is a part-time vocal coach for them and a part-time English coach for them (half her childhood was spent in North America so she is GREAT at English). The woman standing directly next to Wendy is Seulgi, the Main Dancer (and the tender-hearted Teddy Bear); those two are best friends both inside and outside of the group. Like Wendy with the vocals, Seulgi could leave all the other members in the dust as far as Dancing. But she LOVES her members. She has collabbed with other people and also has some solo work out. The lady in the center goes by the stage name Irene. She actually is The Center, AND The Leader, AND the Main Rapper of the group (completely under-utilized and over-looked by all but the members themselves). She's absolutely THE MOM and she can be a real bear to deal with when she has to defend her 'kids'. The lady next to Irene is the Maknae, Yeri (also called Katie). She writes, she sings, she raps, she dances and because SM are complete idiots concerning their Girl Groups, Yeri promotes Red Velvet better than the rest of the giant company combined. She also has some solo stuff out but she did not get an album like the rest of the soloist projects. As for the lady to the far right, well, you almost could have guessed her English name by the first remark you made; she goes by Joy as her stage name. She really does smile a lot and has that bubbly personality that you caught on to immediately. Joy is basically the Supermodel of the group (fashion runways and the whole bit), the tallest member and one of the more mischievous members. She's a rapper and vocalist who can keep up with the rest of the group in dance. She also has some solo stuff and she loves Trot music.
RV has such a diverse discography. They cover almost every type of genre and even though one song will sound completely different from another their vocal dexterity and excellent harmonies mixed in with a retro nostalgic vibe tells the listener "this is a Red Velvet song". There's a lightness to their vocals but there's always an eerie undertone that they play into in their videos. As for food: "Ice Cream Cake" "Sunnyside Up" "Milkshake" "Cookie Jar" "Candy" "Iced Coffee" "Mojito" 🎂
Wendy always delivers the Slap-in-face bridges....she is amazing but RV very much like EXO their chorus together jst feels satisfying to the ears. Love them both❤❤
There must be some hidden magic in "Bad Boy" because everyone unanimously likes it right from the start. Plus, it's funny to see that automatically the velvet side (where they use more R&B) is what people like the most. ♥
This was just the tip of their discography iceberg. Beside queens. Still the best Killing Voice to date. They were prepared to go even longer to 40 minutes 🤣. They are known for their vocals but their visuals, dancing, stage presence, weaponry is on the highest level. They have their own genre, Red Velvet, and no other has been able to do what they do.
This was the first Killing Voice video to break 30 minutes because this group had been around for about nine years before getting invited on. HUGE discography because they have been BUSY that entire time. This was only about half the discography of their own songs, it does not include any of the huge number of covers they did.

I recently went to their concert, and they also performed most of the songs they included here in Killing Voice. They sounded exactly the same live (not to mention that they were dancing as well) and it was truly a pleasure to experience. Red Velvet is an absolute gem.
SM is definitely the "vocal" company. BoA, Super Junior, Shinee, SNSD/Girl's Generation, EXO, Red Velvet and Aespa. There is just something in the water there. 😁
one of the things that make red velvet SO special is that on every single track their choruses are sung together which is honestly one of the biggest flexes ever
Layering vocal is SM style since forever and I love it. That's make their song sound so full and interesting. They use their vocalist talent to the max. They vocal training is one of the best. Everyone, any position in the group at least stable enough and know how to harmonize. Not to mention SM debuted some groups full with main vocalist. Such as, TVXQ, CSJH. And their special project like, SM the ballad. All LEGENDS
I love SM production so much because they would never dare put out music without harmonies. I heard trainees also have harmony lessons so all SM artist know how to harmonize. This is why they are top notch 🤘
One of these nights is actually dedicated to the students who died in the sewol ferry disaster. Red velvet always sing it so intensely and with such feeling and respect. I think it's one of their most beautiful songs and one of my favorites, for sure.
The most important feature that distinguishes RV from other girl groups is that they are so serious about every side song that they can even be the main song.

@eyebrowstj Solar was on Sketchbook and when Yu HuiYeol asked her who the best 3rd generation vocalist was, she immediately said "Wendy" without any hesitation at all.
👍for Red Velvet. I watched this Killing Voice like 10 times, still can't get enough. My Red Velvet playlist is 180 songs with 10 1/2 hours. So yes, they have many great songs. For me Wendy is one of the best vocalist in all of kpop, alongside EXID's Solji, Ailee, Girls Generation's Taeyeon & Apink's Eunji.
They are actually under the same entertainment company like EXO, aespa, SHINee, NCT, Girls Generation (w/c is SM Entertainment). SME is known as a notorious vocal powerhouse that even their rappers and main dancers are trained to the point that they can be at least a lead vocalist. Their training system is actually hard that as far as I know, they always have evaluation. Even SME's trainees live vocals are so stable (proof of this was their first survival show named NCT: Universe: LASTART--in w/c whoever wins here will be in NCT's last unit; they already have the last unit--NCT WISH. The judges there are SME's 1st gen, 2nd gen idol as well as their vocal coach). Anyways, that's just like 5% of their discography. They have Red and Velvet side. Red side is more funky concept, and the Velvet side is more of a dark concept. They also have the red velvet side in w/c they can mix their concept at the same time (if i remember it correctly). This is their names from left to right: Wendy (their main vocalists)--> Seulgi (their main dancer and lead vocalists)--> Irene (the leader, sub-vocalists, and lead rapper, and lead dancer)--> Yeri (their maknae, and sub-vocalist, and lead rapper [if i remember correctly 😭])--> Joy (their lead vocalists [was officially a lead rapper, and sub-vocalists, but treated as a lead vocalists now]).
The thing about Red Velvet is throughout their Discography, they have song almost all genre in the book. They can do Rock, Bossa Nova, Reggae, Hiphop, Ragger, Folk, Dance, EDM, Even Elevator Music 😂 They can do alot. That also shows on their concepts because these girls can do BrightSong then switch it up to Seductress
I'm so obsessed with Red Velvet's Killing Voice, feel so proud to be a fan of them😍if you do react to another Killing Voice, hope you do B1A4, insane vocals too + one of their singers Sandeul is very well known among singing Korean variety shows for his vocal skills
if you have never listened to Red Velvet before, go check out their playlist or compilations. Red Velvet are also famous for being queens of B-sides. They literally have no bad songs. You can listen to all their albums back-to-back and not get bored. Also, they literally sing totally live, and dance too, right thru their concerts....so this is actually a cake walk for them. If you have never seen Red Velvet live, find a chance to go at least once. it's such a wonderful experience That medley of songs, starting from that slow hip hop trap beat Bad Boy, onto the the vocalisations of Psycho, and then, that very adult contemporary One of These Nights and Automatic, then back to the totally stripped down deep emotional Kingdom Come....OMG blown away. And it doesn't end there. Enjoy the exquisite, delicate, excellent vocal delivery of Red Velvet.
Great reaction as always! Red Velvet and Mamamoo are for sure the 3rd gen vocal powerhouses. They’ve been around for 10 years and still active. You’re now open up to a lot of good songs! ❤
I love Red Velvet's vocals with a passion ❤️ And I agree when you said that there is something about their different voices together, it creates a masterpiece 😍
Red velvet is one of the best vocal groups and all their songs are so unic that is why every single come back is so shocking they always come with something different but still you can tell "this is a song of red velvet". i love them so much
Love me some Red Velvet. The girl who smiles while singing is Joy. Left to right the members are Wendy (main vocalist), Seulgi (Main dancer), Irene (leader and rapper), Yeri (maknae, sub vocalist and sub rapper) and Joy (lead vocalist and sub rapper). React to Red Velvet's friends and undisputed vocal queens Mamamoo. Their Killing Voice was the first one released so it's only 15 mins long. Wendy is the best female group vocalist imo but Solar (Mamamoo's leader) is a close second. Wendy and Solar share the same birthday too. Mamamoo debuted in June 2014 and Red Velvet debuted in August 2014. In most best female kpop vocalist lists Red Velvet's Wendy, Mamamoo's Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are usually in the top 5.

back in the days a lot of K-pop groups would have taglines while introducing themselves, “happiness!” is red velvet’s (it’s also the name of their debut song). nct’s tagline is “to the world” and exo’s is “we are one”, to name some others. Usually the tagline would be based around the groups concept. I’d say around 2020 is when new groups dropped having taglines bc they weren’t really a necessity anymore. it was primarily a thing that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation groups did

Watching your reaction is almost as fun as watching RV perform.
The thing about Red Velvet is throughout their Discography, they have song almost all genre in the book. They can do Rock, Bossa Nova, Reggae, Hiphop, Ragger, Folk, Dance, EDM, Even Elevator Music 😂 They can do alot. That also shows on their concepts because these girls can do BrightSong then switch it up to Seductress
alex is me whenever i hear red velvet harmonies 😭
Their voices are great
I'm so obsessed with Red Velvet's Killing Voice, feel so proud to be a fan of them😍if you do react to another Killing Voice, hope you do B1A4, insane vocals too + one of their singers Sandeul is very well known among singing Korean variety shows for his vocal skills
Red velvet songs always makes me happy. They have so many feel good songs ❤
wendy's "shine on me" part in happiness is still so addictive.
if you have never listened to Red Velvet before, go check out their playlist or compilations. Red Velvet are also famous for being queens of B-sides. They literally have no bad songs. You can listen to all their albums back-to-back and not get bored.
Also, they literally sing totally live, and dance too, right thru their concerts....so this is actually a cake walk for them.
If you have never seen Red Velvet live, find a chance to go at least once. it's such a wonderful experience
That medley of songs, starting from that slow hip hop trap beat Bad Boy, onto the the vocalisations of Psycho, and then, that very adult contemporary One of These Nights and Automatic, then back to the totally stripped down deep emotional Kingdom Come....OMG blown away.
You have to see Wendy’s (the girl on the far left) cover of I Have Nothing too! She’s incredible.
Red velvet is one of the best vocal groups and all their songs are so unic that is why every single come back is so shocking they always come with something different but still you can tell "this is a song of red velvet". i love them so much
It's always a delight seeing someone reaction to The Powerhouse that Red Velvet vocal is ❤❤
I love your reaction... thank you... can't wait for more red velvet
You are so whipped for Joy ❤ she is literal joy to eyes
bro loved Joys voice! sweet like honey 🍯
They’re freaking amazingggg
My favourite song of Red Velvet is Kingdom Come, once you get use to the feeling is over for you. I listened for like a thousand times already
Thank you very much for bringing their killing voice to us 🤗💖🌟 I'm going to answer some questions you asked... we, lovers of killing voice, who stan multiple artists, with peace, love, respect and admiration, are immensely grateful to the channel Dingo is this awesome show that makes this wonderful experience of a lovely medley possible. We watch the preview launch and then we watch all the TH-camrs who present us with the possibility of following their reaction having fun with this concert too. but you, my friend, you are a rare gem, for several reasons, like: you are new on the scene, you have a clean heart and open to new things, you feel the music, deep down, creation, concept, instrumentation and rhythm, You are still surprised by the ability of the kpop style to encompass everything that exists and is necessary to build a good work and you are as excited as we were when we entered the scene. So, YES, I have a lot of fun watching you react to this new world of musical possibilities. I know that these mini concerts will always take you to an experimental harmonic orgasm and I love participating in that. gratitude. I signed up for for more in the EXO video and I'm waiting more, ok

Please consider reacting to Day6 Killing Voice as well! They are a Korean band under JYP Entertainment.
Red Velvet has some videos that show their recording process and how much layering they do in the studio, if you're interested in that. ❤
You should be checking out Taeyeon's killing voice too. Taeyeon is member-leader from a legendary kpop girl group (Girls Generation) and she also Red Velvet's senior from the same company. The company (SM Entertainment) is well known for their the best vocals among all of kpop groups☺

Best Idol Group Alive
-BillBoard 2019. New subscriber here more red velvet content in the future please
They said that they sang a lot more songs but they had to cut it down to a smaller video😭
Red flavor actually known as summer anthem
man i really liked your reaction! It just feels like going back to those good ol middle to high school era every time i listen to TWICE and RED VELVET. thanks man
back in the days a lot of K-pop groups would have taglines while introducing themselves, “happiness!” is red velvet’s (it’s also the name of their debut song). nct’s tagline is “to the world” and exo’s is “we are one”, to name some others. Usually the tagline would be based around the groups concept. I’d say around 2020 is when new groups dropped having taglines bc they weren’t really a necessity anymore. it was primarily a thing that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation groups did
Love this!!! I haven't realize how many Red Velvet song I like haha
They are from SM Entertainment same company as Girls' Generation, unfortunately Girls Generation doesn't have a Killing Voice video but their voices are AMAZING as their song haha...
Thank you for the reaction! These were mostly title tracks, but some had to be skipped because they couldn't include them all. I'd like for you to check out Birthday which is a more "red" song and Be Natural which is a more "velvet" song, but honestly any Red Velvet reaction would be appreciated :))
Oh cool!! Thanks so much for watching!! I definitely gotta check that out! more Red Velvet to come! :)
Should react to cosmic. That's a whole nother level.
Oouuu thankyou for this reaction🎉❤

you really gotta check out their behind the scenes of their song recording processes! - really mind blowing; you see the role each member plays sooo clearly it’s somehow like magic
Love your reactions!! PLEASE REACT TO BIG MAMA KILLING VOICE! I think you’d really appreciate their vocals! They’re one of the OG rnb Korean girl groups with power house vocalssss
