That brings back a lot memories working at Atlas Copco Wagner Mining Equipment, I worked on and installed a lot of Deutz engines in our machines, great engines, easy to work on and vary dependable if maintained properly

Reminds me off all the deutz powered vehicles we had in the South African army.

I am a major DEUTZ fan with an enormous digital file of information. May I respectfully suggest you do some research ? Carl or Karl Benz had nothing to do with DEUTZ. The company was originally founded by Nicolaus Otto, the inventor of the four- stroke internal combustion engine, and his partner Eugen Langen on 31 March 1864, as N. A. Otto & Cie. Famous people who have worked for Deutz include Eugen Langen, Nicolaus Otto, Gottlieb Daimler (from 1872 until 1880), Wilhelm Maybach (from 1872 until 1880), Prosper L'Orange (from 1904 until October 1908), Ettore Bugatti (in 1907), and Robert Bosch.

Worked on a few deutz diesels over the years, the only thing i dont like is if the shut down solenoid sticks or the belt switch fails and the cooling fan belt breaks they burn up fast.
The old lister petter engines were air cooled too but the fan was built right into the flywheel, simple engines but not as common as deutz diesels.

I've noticed some of the engines on here had no cooling fan running from the fan belt. Or maybe their electronically driven
