Thanks for the great review of Nankang. After hours of comparison videos I was ready to buy Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport 235/35 R19 for our Audi S3 (MY15). I had been advised on a service and inspection last week that the left rear was lower tread than the rest and probably only had 5,000 km left in it. I was ready to sacrifice all other tyres on the car and get 4 new ones at a cost of $1,100.00 AUD. I had to check the brand on the front as I new that they were a Chinese brand that had only been added 2 years ago; Nankang. I have never had a problem with these tyres losing traction like quite often happens with the Continental tyres in the rear of an AWD car. I'm now thinking of getting 2 Nankang on the rear only as the fronts still look relatively new with ample tread. These only cost $154 AUD each. Every time someone works on my car they feel the need to comment on the cheap tyres on the front. Tyre shops included. Sure, they sell the brand, and they'll sell anything to anyone, but they don't know how good they actually are. They just see them as a cheap tyre.

I run nankangs, I believe the ATR 2s. Not 100% sure on that since it's been over a year since I bought my tires. BUT!!!! They stretch real nice (205/40/18) on an 8.5. Also note I drive on them 1k miles a week as a pizza guy. I shit you not, I roll hard, maxed out coils, stretched tires, and deliver pizzas..... because I'm stupid. But I've put about 20k miles on mine with 1% camber front, 2% camber rear, and have loved these tires. THEY DO NOT PERFORM WELL AROUND FREEZING TEMP WITH WATER ON ROAD WHEN STRETCHED! I have them on my daughters 2008 BMW 335I. They are scary. No traction leaving from a stoplight in the rain. Literally sets off the traction control. Going off exit ramps you feel like you were going to lose the backend.
Sounds like you are simply overdriving the poor car in the rain. Have you ever considered the fact the E90 isn't a sports car, it's a family saloon, with the BMW trademark wagging tail. Some call them suicide cars. So when the car is being driven by a moron, by all means, blame the tyres.
I've just bought Nankang AW-8 All Season VAN 205/65 R16C 107/105T 8PR, 3PMSF tyres. I highly recommend these tyres. I bought all 4 tyres 4 years ago the two fronts. Are starting to wear but 4 years is good for a budget tyre
Same... looking at these, Bridgestone Weather Control A005 or Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons G2. The Nankang's are 40€ cheaper a piece... let me know if you get some, will purchase in Summer when I dump these cheap Chinese winter tire.
I just bought them, R18 and i really like them, they are quiet and performance is good in the wet conditions, don’t know how they will act in snow, but i have had several Nankangs rims and i haven’t disappointed ! Once i bought Yokohamas M+S , didn’t like them.
I’m looking for opinions on tires to get for my new set of wheels. The specs will be 18x9.5 +30 and I’m looking for either a 225/45 or a 230/40. Looking for a performance tire with good dry and wet handling and I will use my stock wheels in the winter time.
Running them on a RWD q50 and they beat the crappy dunlop run flats. Good all season so far haven't used them in heavy snow. Good grip even when pushing on corners. Have about 5000 miles on them so far.
shaunskii my car came with a new set and I’d buy them again. Not loud, I can launch them hard, they grip real nice around corners. I live in New England. So as far as cold weather they can get you around but not recommended for foul weather.
I´m looking for an afordable 600 euro range (I´m from europe) set of wheels, just like the ones you have to right below you. what should I look for any brand you recommend with tha wheels design.

They holding up well - 10,000 miles on them - road noise is a bit loud - I use them here in New England for the Colder weather but are a great year round choice with plenty of grip in all temp ranges and rain - i would buy them again.
Thoughts on the Nankang Counqueror AT5’s? I’m looking for a tire that excels in snow and ice. Apparently there’s no true winter tire for my truck (2017 Ram 3500 4x4 crew cab, standard bed, Cummins/Aisin). I was told Nankang is good in the snow/ice. Thoughts? Also, any other recommendations would be good. Right now I have all terrain tires (285/60r/20, on 20x8.0 wheels). I’d probably only use the new tires for the snow and put the ones I currently have on, back on in the spring. Thanks.
I ran NS-20's in 255/30/18 on my BMW 328. One day I'm merging onto freeway on a soaking wet onramp, ass end slides out and I'm thinking "OK, these are shit tires in the rain" I get home, look at the tires and they're BALD! So then I'm thinking "Well maybe they didn't last long then", I find the receipt and they're just over 3yrs old. They wore perfectly flat and I'd never known they were bald until I slid...unlike when some 20's I'd bought already had Lexani's on them and they were garbage due to sidewall buckling and flatspotting when parked. I've upgraded to the NS-25 since the NS-20 lasted so well (I also needed to go down sidewall size due to rubbing and they didn't have NS20 in the size I needed) and I'm looking into getting them on my X5M as well.
Have purchased several sets if Nankangs for different cars...never an issue with wear, ride comfort or road noise. And should I ever wear them out, at their price point, idk...just swap em out for new ones.
Great content. The editing/cutting style of the video is a little tough for me to take, but kudos for jamming a ton of information in a short video. Thanks!
I can vouch for them being good tires and a really good option for many people. I have a friend who owns a shop that put them on my car without asking me, which I was initially upset about, only to end up really liking the tires. They grip really good, and last a really long time. Great price to performance and longevity combination. Not sure what actually series they were, but I ran a 225 40 25
@@good-tn9sr I don’t remember exactly, but I can say a lot more than any other tire I ran. I drove a lot and replaced tires probably way before I needed to, but the Nankangs lasted the longest.
No wonder your tyres are unstable. You bought the wrong size..... Go for 205 or 215 instead, and you will get a much better grip. Your setup is not "meaty", it's just not very good. It's just about within specs, but not good. Optimal for those tyres are 8" rims.
Shoutouts to FI from Taiwan where Nankang tires are from. It's actually pronounced as "Nan-Gong" FYI. I know it sounds weird, but it's the closest to its mandarin Chinese pronunciation. The alphabet spelling systems in Taiwan are messed up sometimes lol. Happy to see Nankang tires included in one of your videos.
Do you think we can get a video on the best looking tyres? You know, aesthetically pleasing sidewalls/tread patterns, the way the tread wraps around the edges ect. There's this Mk5 Golf GTI in my town with BBS CH wheels on it, the fitment and stance is on point but every time I see the tyres I damn near jizz and I don't know why. I don't know what the brand is because I haven't got a close enough look but there's just something about them that looks right, they're not too beefy, they're not very stretched but they just look like a full on track weapon setup and really completes the look. Care to do a video on this?
When it comes to tires, safety is paramount. I would not go any lower. They are an old, established Taiwanese company. Nankang seems to be a sweet spot to me. Low price with reliable quality.
Just tried ns-20s for the first time on my rwd twin turbo. Skeptical at first was emergency as my pirellis had worn pretty bad. After a week they worn in and are really comfortable. They stick and I cannot hear them. Cost me 200aud each fitted 275 40 17. The pirellis were double the price
Yokohama are one of the best tyre brands in the world. Yokohama produce some excellent tyres. Yokohama are personally my favourite. If you want to spend more money, Yokohama is the way to go.
I'm actually running Nankang tires on my Sentra and theyve been a champion, i need to get the car realigned however ive got control arm issues that need addressing first.
I had the chance to track my car on Federal RS-PROs and AR-1s. The grip and lack of sidewall flex from the AR-1s was insanely good. This is coming from someone who only tracks budget Federals. The AR-1s will be my next track tire.

I’m running Nankang NS 25 on my 09’ M3. They’re amazing. I abuse the tires and they still look good paid $160 a tire for 265/35/19. Taking the car to the track soon. I’ll see how they hold up
how they holdin up. I need that size for my rear
Miguel Primero The tires are still good and grip is good. For the price it’s unbeatable 🤷🏽♂️ definitely recommend.
I want to know what wheel that is over your head that has the yellow center...please.
Klutch KF!
Where I work we offer Nankang as a kid level tire we have Fuzion for lower/cheap tires (which for their price point they're really good), Nankang for mid tier and Firestone for name brand tires and I really like the Nankangs they're really good for what they cost
I'm running nankang ns-25 all season also lowered and got a stretched tire with ‐6 camber all around let see how they hold up
Up date: I would definitely recommend these for a camber daily driven car
How are they in the snow ? Want all season but trying to find the best cheap tire for my 2015 Civic si wheels 225 40 18 ??
Continential extreme contacts, pirrelli p zero, michelin pilot sport, or firestone indy hawk 500
I need new tires and im trying to decide on new summer performance tires. Help me decide from these or please give me suggestions.
maybe you didnt get the memo, kid
but it is fall now and time to get winter tires.
pilot sport or Re760 are the best street tires.
I ran Pirelli P zero and P zero Rosso tires on my Altezza. Hell of alot of grip and long thread life while still being able to slide nice. Definitely a vote for them. And they're quiet too.
@@potatochobit i have a set of steelies with winter tires
Continentals are always going to be a first pick for me, But what you could do is check out our tire section on our site and see what you think looks best you never know you might see something different you like! 👍 bit.ly/2Imgo9B
I put Nankang mudstar on my cj7. So far they have been great especially for how much I paid for them. Have not gotten to try them in the snow yet. But so far I would buy another set
They grip like Yokohama, last longer and cost less, what else can you ask for?
Anybody know what black mesh wheels are next to his shoulder on his right?
ESR'S!
But other than that they are a fantastic tire
Ah a fellow pizza boi with a slammed car and stretched tires lol. We might be stupid, but we love it.
The hero we don’t deserve 💯
Which car tho 🤔
Doesnt compare against r888? You never tried the Nankang AR-1 i think? They are better but also more expensive unfortunately..
Would they be decent on this Chicago weather? Specially in the snow? I have a 2015 Mazda 6
I have some Nankang sp-9's on a civic and they are great.
Aren't they...? I just put 4 of the Nankang SP-9 Cross Sports on my 2015 Lincoln MKC AWD. And i have to admit they are BY FAR better then the stock OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP my vehicle came with.
I have sp-9 and they handle pretty well.
In the uk they are known as ditch finders, as any car fitted with them is sure to find its way into a ditch.
I Know some one that knows a guy, that saw someone see another person in the UK and i call BULLSHIT!
Don't talk shite David you know fuck all
David Goode you talk out of your bottom, these are perfectly capable boots.
I drive a lot of highway miles on my daily, I have Toyo Proxes but they were super expensive any suggestions?!
Hankook, BFGoodrich, Michelin, Falken, Cooper, Goodyear, avoid cheap Chinese brands and stuff like Nankang/nexen, Kelly, Douglas, Prime Well, Goodride, Linglong (crosswind), Achilles, Westlake (definitely avoid westlake), etc,
AerisM so I should stick with my Toyos???
Amadeo Trujillo he literally just told you about what else you could buy, did you read
Danny Rios exactly he named ones to get and ones not to he never acknowledged my current tire setup
@@amadeo23trujillo you can also get more toyos, yes. I thought you wanted alternatives.
Hey bro the 10 spoke rim next to the gold one. What kind of wheel is that. Chrome lip. Gray center
Those would be forged Concept 1 wheels!
I have lived in Japan for the last fro years where there very popular and I love these tires I run ns2rs for the street and at-1s for the track
I have them on my daughters 2008 BMW 335I. They are scary. No traction leaving from a stoplight in the rain. Literally sets off the traction control. Going off exit ramps you feel like you were going to lose the backend.
you need michelin pilot sport 4
Sounds like you are simply overdriving the poor car in the rain. Have you ever considered the fact the E90 isn't a sports car, it's a family saloon, with the BMW trademark wagging tail. Some call them suicide cars. So when the car is being driven by a moron, by all means, blame the tyres.
What brand/style are those wheels to the right of the gold ones behind you? They would look clean on my 2016 Genesis 5.0 sdn.
The AR-1 is better than all the comparable tires from the more expensive brands, crazy grip.
Do tire history over achilles ties
I've just bought Nankang AW-8 All Season VAN 205/65 R16C 107/105T 8PR, 3PMSF tyres. I highly recommend these tyres. I bought all 4 tyres 4 years ago the two fronts. Are starting to wear but 4 years is good for a budget tyre
Do you recommend the Nankang Cross Seasons AW6 ?
Thanks!!!!!!!
Same... looking at these, Bridgestone Weather Control A005 or Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons G2.
Have nankangs all seasons on my pathfinder, even with 4inchs of snow never need to take it out of 2wd 😉
Anyone care to chime in on what they think of the new NS-25 now that the NS-20 has been discontinued?
Wondering this too as I have ns20s with low tread. Apparently no one has shit to say as they did with the ns20s when I bought them
Running them on a RWD q50 and they beat the crappy dunlop run flats.
Remind me in a week or two. Got some 275 nankang ns-25's on the way
@@k.hamilton5848 how they been?
Nankang AR-1 at the moment is the hottest pirce/performance R comp tire used by Nordschelife track day bro enthusiasts.
I´m looking for an afordable 600 euro range (I´m from europe) set of wheels, just like the ones you have to right below you. what should I look for any brand you recommend with tha wheels design.

Just had the NS 25 Installed on my 2018 civic type r - fingers crossed...
Howd they end up doing? Possibly pulling trigger on these in nezt few days...
Wondering the same, just ordered
They holding up well - 10,000 miles on them - road noise is a bit loud - I use them here in New England for the Colder weather but are a great year round choice with plenty of grip in all temp ranges and rain - i would buy them again.
@@anthonydigangi9877 hell yeah thanks. Putting them on my subie I was concerned about grip & wet weather.
I had these installed after watching this video. Great value, ride smooth and handle great. Definitely go for it if youre on the fence.
Thanks.
How come every tyre company say they developed first radial tyres ?
Dang man sounds like some trial and error! What does the ride look like now? You should upload it to our gallery sometime! bit.ly/2Ma4oca
Federal? Whats up? Still nothing? K...
It's in the making.
On the list man don't worry!
Do hankook tires
Wet grip on the federals I've tried aren't good at all. 595 and 595 Evo had bad wet grip
achilles?
Have purchased several sets if Nankangs for different cars...never an issue with wear, ride comfort or road noise. And should I ever wear them out, at their price point, idk...just swap em out for new ones.
Want to put them on a 20 inch for a Yukon size 275,55,20. For moms truck she not racing anybody what you think a go or stay
we use nankang only in the B-ZERO and C1 racing classes. running 155/55-14 ;)
Early Birds where y’all at ?
Great content. The editing/cutting style of the video is a little tough for me to take, but kudos for jamming a ton of information in a short video. Thanks!
Im also wondering why no mention of the AR1 in the video and he just classifying nankang as a budget brand.
Expensive tyres will not make up for lack of talent, any tyres will find a ditch.
Can you guys do achilles tires? They pretty popular too.
6:43 what about the AR-1 ?
Props for remembering to say “arguably” after every “first radial” 😂 gg Alex

I can vouch for them being good tires and a really good option for many people. I have a friend who owns a shop that put them on my car without asking me, which I was initially upset about, only to end up really liking the tires. They grip really good, and last a really long time. Great price to performance and longevity combination.
Not sure what actually series they were, but I ran a 225 40 25
how many miles did u get
@@good-tn9sr I don’t remember exactly, but I can say a lot more than any other tire I ran. I drove a lot and replaced tires probably way before I needed to, but the Nankangs lasted the longest.
@@PurdueManDan hey Dan thanks for replying and it helped 🙏👍
I love my ns-2 ultrasports they are cheap, grip well and have nice tread pattern, kinda flexy but I have kinda meaty fitment (225/45r17 on 7j).
Can you guys do an episode on Nexen tyres?
Do you think we can get a video on the best looking tyres? You know, aesthetically pleasing sidewalls/tread patterns, the way the tread wraps around the edges ect. There's this Mk5 Golf GTI in my town with BBS CH wheels on it, the fitment and stance is on point but every time I see the tyres I damn near jizz and I don't know why. I don't know what the brand is because I haven't got a close enough look but there's just something about them that looks right, they're not too beefy, they're not very stretched but they just look like a full on track weapon setup and really completes the look. Care to do a video on this?
Had a pair of NS2R on my Astra OPC, took corners like I was on traintracks. Had grip for days.
Had nankang tires back in 2000-2002 ish . Great tires .
Im currently running their NS2R and love its for a daily and track tire. Taiwan for the win~
Jenkin Chu how is it? with road noises and fuel consumption?
Do a comparison on nankang with Yokohama tires. Im getting new tires soon and need information on both.
Yokohama are one of the best tyre brands in the world. Yokohama produce some excellent tyres. Yokohama are personally my favourite. I might be 2 years late, but if you are on a tighter budget, Nankangs will do the job just fine. They are solid mid range tyres that will last the test of time. If you want to spend more money, Yokohama is the way to go.
Nankang has the best tire money can by for ultra high performance and the awards to prove it "NANKANG AR-1"
I'm actually running Nankang tires on my Sentra and theyve been a champion, i need to get the car realigned however ive got control arm issues that need addressing first.
Federal seems to be equally popular or more so also any idea why nankang ar-1 not available in the US?
I love my AR1's
I had the chance to track my car on Federal RS-PROs and AR-1s. The grip and lack of sidewall flex from the AR-1s was insanely good. This is coming from someone who only tracks budget Federals. The AR-1s will be my next track tire.
So in summary, these are only for burnouts, grassroots drifting, and cambered out hotboi civics...
@@potatochobit My mom gets only the best, I'd get her Michelin Pilot Sport S on 18 Koenig's . She drives a red 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Hybrid. 😎 KDM Crew. 🇰🇷
But they do make "race" tires, like the AR-1
@@alexstromberg7696 Id rather trust a tire with better R&D along with, I drive my wife and dogs. Im a skilled driver but also because I always have trusted tires. You get what you pay for.
@@Dezzylyricz so you go by "more money is always better"? I think the AR-1s are perfectly fine.
@@alexstromberg7696 not really. I go for rubber compound, load index, grip, water evacuation, realiblity. With all of what I need in a tire it's going to cost more. That why I save up. It's expensive because of the engineering and design. But at the end of the day I will know in any weather or sudden evasion maneuver needed to avoid an accident I will have full control of my 25,000$ vehicle and the safety of my passengers and most of all my wife.
I had always continental, hankooks, pirellis on very powerful cars. When i buyed a used benz who had 19 inch rims running on Nankang NS20 on the back and the front tyres where Goodride, i was like i will change them as soon as possible. But i didnt have time, so i drove them also under wet conditions, and i was amazed with the grip. For Notice, years ago i had the same Benz with 18 inch rims and only contis, i always had to be careful when driving in the wet. So driving now with Nankang/Goodride combi is really funny, but i will probably go for Nankang All Around. The Price is good but the grip is surprisingly good.
Hi there,
How about Atturo tires versus Nankang?
They are great tires. I have had over 50 cars in my life with all kinds of tires and Nankangs ride and perform better than some of the high priced tires. They turned a stiff bumpy riding car into a soft rider. I am hooked and it's not just the low price.
Nanking can use then racing and how will take off on them and how long do they last
Is there any way you could fit some different types of nangkang tyres on a car drive it in the dry, wet & snow then do donuts in it and tell us what you you think of them? I had some budget tyres from nangkang about 14 years ago, fine in the dry, as soon as it rained they had shocking bad grip compared to the michelins I was used to
Great suggestion for a funny/informational video we can do!
