    how do you sign up to volunteer? And can you volunteer even if you dont speak Ukrainian?

    • @headhouze
      @headhouze  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn’t speak a word in Ukrainian when I entered the country, so yes, but it certainly would help. There are countless of different organizations all across Ukraine that I’d just contact directly and ask. There could be something also on voluteeringukraine dot com.

    I hate to be that guy, I truly do, but I just gotta say this....To me this just seems like the standard "going to ukraine to promote my youtube channel" video. Civ Div talks about this modern day phenomenon in his videos. I mean I tip my hat to everyone who are genuinely helping the people in the warzone, I really do. But this....This video just seems weird. First of all @2:18 and onwards the super fake FX explosion sounds, car alarms and air raid sirens. All of that just sounds extremely fake and obviously done in the editing stage to make the video all dramatic. Pretty poor acting in that scene too imo. In the following scenes he also sets up his camera to film himself walking around in his ripped jeans. I don't know man, somehow all of this just seems so fishy. Just do some critical thinking guys. Listen to what this guy is saying in at @10:47. For me, putting yourself on a pedestal is a tell tale sign of a youtuber who uses people in poor conditions or in dire need of help to gain more viewers, subscribers and income. Photoshopped thumbnail, super edited, overly dramatic video and all that. I mean I like what he's doing and it's a good cause, but there's just this weird contrast in how all of that comes out in this video. Makes me wonder if the money he's asking is actually going towards what he's saying. And that's just, like my opinion man...

      Hey man, I’d like to respond to some of the concerns you presented.
      If you’ve seen my first Ukraine video - that’s unfortunately a bit the kind of ”went to Ukraine to promote my channel” video. I caught myself from this mentality while being there and felt ashamed of that. But since I was there, I still filmed and tried to reflect on these thoughts, not sure at which level of success after all. But since then the war theme stuck on me and my thoughts started changing drastically. Against my original plans, I decided to spend 7 weeks helping strangers there instead of working on my channel. Obviously, in the side I filmed this movie because it would’ve been dumb not to record and share such a big experience. I’ve also done already another trip to deliver a trailerload of stuff across Europe to the soldiers in the front line. I’ve raised funds and donated them to charity. Now I’m working on the next project and as a result my own work isn’t progressing that well. Man, I’m living on my savings and I don’t get a penny back from what I do, neither on TH-cam or in Ukraine. Just the smiles from the people I help. Of course I wish this all could also affect my channel positively, but if this all is considered ”using people”, then I don’t know, mate, would it be better not to do anything and let people suffer as they do?
      When it comes to the video, of course there’s FX. Not to create fake content but to enhance the thin slice of reality that a GoPro is capable of recording. Referring to 2:36 for instance, the original audio only has low frequecies from the explosion and the car alarm sounds outside my apartment are hardly audible because my windows were closed. Doesn’t sound nearly as terrifying as it was. I knew someone would point out the edited audio, but that’s my best effort to imitate the authentic experience I had. And about the claimed acting: I don’t know if you’re ever been shot at with a heavy missile, but at least I was in a complete terror. Maybe I’m a wuss but I didn’t realise how absolutely scary that is, before experiencing it. Therefore, no acting needed.
      Then again the ”photoshopped thumbnail, super edited and dramatized video” - yes, I agree. I’m not a journalist, I’m trying to create cinematic stories within a specific TH-cam genre, and I don’t think that for this reason I shouldn’t cover important topics like this. It’s a bummer if you don’t find me sincere and honest, and I understand that many people try to profit from other people’s suffering and that makes people cynical, but regardless of your opinion I’ll keep working for the people dealing with unpleasant circumstances. You are welcome to follow me on Instagram if you are truly interested to see some behind the scenes stuff.
      P.S. I’m not putting myself on a pedestal. Conversely, in the video I’m being vulnerable about the life-long feeling of being a selfish ass not interested to help others, a feature I’ve been ashamed in me for my whole life up to this point. Hurts me to hear people not seeing the overall emotional load I’ve shed on this video :(

      I’ve known this guy for years and I can assure that he is truly genuine in everything he does. To spend voluntarily that many weeks to just help other people tells a lot in my opinion. This video was so important to make because like headhouze said we forget easily and become ignorant.
      Blessings and keep up the good work 🙏🏼

    • @mikaeltakamaa
      @mikaeltakamaa 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      As a friend who has known @headhouze for many years I will double @fidemariia 's comment. I think we are rather at risk of becoming ignorant and forgetful towards the suffering of people all around the world. I think it is great, or even necessary, to use skills and creativity to tell honest stories as from complicated contexts that can inspire us all to reflect our internal selfishness and become more selfless in our actions towards the people in need. We need more of this in our aching world.

    You claim to care about people. But what about the people from Donbass who did not want to give up the Russian language, because a nasee regime gets the control over Ukraine after a coupe. What is more democratic to let them choose not to be part of a Stephan Bandera regime. Did you care about the people from Odessa who died in a building after nasee's put it on fire? and police just watching
