I grew up on Zeppelin, Stones, Aerosmith, Eagles, Boston, Styx etc and somehow just by passed Neil Young for most of my life...........until I picked up a guitar 7 years ago. It's kind of sad yet, all his his works, all of it, is really fairly new to me now. What a great music find this late in life. Love this song, like all the rest of his songs you've helped teach me to play. Thanks.
Apart from Styx, probably had similar experience until a friend in college turned me on to NY. Strangely I’ve recently come to fully appreciate Bob Dylan in the last few years, been quite a journey. JJ doesn’t do too much of him but I’d strange how much good music was out there late ‘60s to early 80s
@@ST-xg3gy I absolutely agree and thanks for the reminder. I need to dig that out and give it a whirl, it's been a minute since I been on the sand. ✌💀👍🎸🎼🎵🎶🔥🧠
Thanks Man! I get the sense that you may not be the biggest Neil fan after watching your Powder Finger episode. I'm quite fond of his stuff. So this type of clip is much appreciated!
you are the best ,, so much fun,, long times here to your channel. I practice everyone of the covers you do ,, Thank You so. The best things is the way you've got me to play the G and F and C and A differently. Tkx Gotta Love the Neil always
Back in 1974 a guitarist friend bought new Gretsch White Falcon guitar and started a solo act, gigging clubs around the Central Texas area, singing Manassas and CSN cover songs in an imitation of Stephen Stills voice that was pretty convincing. He kept that going until he put a bullet in his head in 77'.
We see George H use his Country Gentlemen a lot but I've never seen one that played as well as a 335. could be that the shops didn't have theirs dialed in very well. Is the Falcon as good as your 335"s?
They’re very different, so it’s hard to compare. The 345 is a lot more versatile, gets more tones. The Falcon feels more like an acoustic guitar to me.
I like your lessons. May I suggest you consider being less wordy in your side commentary and explanations. It’s very distracting and throws the listener off track. For continuity maybe just play through the song in the beginning.

Nice video. When You Dance has some fun little fills, too.
Almost forgot about this tune. Thanks dude!
Great song. My band used to cover this as a closer to our set.
James, once again...thanks so much for showing me (us) how to do this...my Boxing Day just got
a whole lot better, bless you x
Thanx James ! Heard this the other day and have been messing with it of course playing it wrong! Thanx for pointing me in the right direction!
Love this song. That made it sooo easy for me🙏🏻
sometimes that album that's really hard to dissect a lot of the Neil parts cuz Danny whitten was in there laying down quite a bit of guitar too.
Just received my Kieth Richards and the exp. Wino's live at Hollywood 1988 on vinyl. This album kicks A. I dig it.
Very good lesson. Thanks.
Great lesson
thanks for another great lesson
my favorite JJ guitar
Great album. Great tune. Zuma is a good one too!
You're right on JJ
Thanks a lot, super useful.
I liked a lot of times your pic of choice was the yellow. Send not even medium and not even close to ridiculously heavy like so many use
👍 I immediately thought of Leonard cohen..hahaha
KILLER
What gauge of strings r u using please?
Those are probably .10's.
call me an idiot, but what tuning are you in, can't figure it out
never mind, I retract that

I finally got the first comment. I really appreciate you taking the time to give us some lessons and I hope all is well with you and yours.

There are a few thousand people doing guitar lessons on TH-cam. I’m sure plenty of those other people do them the way you like them.
