    I just stumbled upon your channel when I browse about taking care succulents. And yours are absolutely what I'm looking for. Everything is so detailed and easy to understand. Thank you so much. I hope this will end my status as a succulent serial killer 😅.

    This is one of the best videos on overwatered succulents that I have ever seen. Great information and details on how to save them when possible. I have had so many die from overwatering due to being out in the rain. I live in central Florida. I too am learning (the hard and expensive way) which plants need to be brought in or covered and which ones will tolerate the water and wetness. Thanks for a great video.

      Thank you so much- that is very kind of you to say 💚 It can get a bit frustrating with succulents and rain. Some can be real drama queens once it goes a bit and humid. Best of luck on your succulent growing journey 🌵

    Thank you, I found this video helpful. I have recently purchased a small a Lilac Spoons that I just can’t figure out but after watching this video it’s given me something to help when checking it. I thought it was dehydrated but I think it might be a fungus.

    Thank you for such an informative video with excellent reference pictures. I’ve been babysitting my mother’s succulent and I’m afraid it might be beyond help ☹️ I only watered it once when I thought the soil was dry (though I can’t be sure my father didn’t also water it) but we then got a series of days with extremely high humidity so that moisture was stuck there. None of us know much about growing succulents and the little guy was already struggling but there’d been some new growth so we were feeling optimistic. It is potted indoors so it sounds like it didn’t have good chances to begin with but it still bums me out that Mum will come back shortly to a dying plant ☹️

    Kat, I was wondering if adding fungicide to the soil will help to solve the problem of root rot?

    You should make mini umbrellas for your outdoor succulents. I think that would help over watering and be a cool look

    Great video as always! Thanks. In my years of growing succulents watering is still an issue for me specially when seasons change. I hate to water them!😂 So i'm really careful ... still, it happens to loose one or several when summers comes! Echeverias should be fully awake now (Portugal) but some go dormant with the heat. There's always so much to learn. 😀

      Me too- as you can see by the footage of all the dead/ nearly dead succulents in my videos 😆😅 There are varieties i never have problems with but when i get new ones it's always a hit and miss. I've put in a good amount of fans in the greenhouse which seems to work, but outside is a different story. It's interesting you say that about Echeveria going dormant as i had a subscriber from Germany also say his Echeveria have gone dormant. The extremes are certainly playing silly buggers with the plants..

    Hi. Great video! I'm a new subscriber!!
    My Hens are looking mushy and opaque. They are not getting too much rainwater bc they're on a covered porch. Could it be that I'm not watering them enough?

    I have a cactus that look like cabbage leaves growing out of it, the leaves turned hard and black did i watered it to much and now all is left is the green stock, what shall i do, new subscriber, and a thumbs 👍

    • @SucculentGrowingTips
      @SucculentGrowingTips  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the 👍💚Hmm, usually overwatered leaves will go a bit mushy and black, having said that those cabbage Echeveria are very sensitive to water and humidity and can easily die when they don't have enough sunlight. I'm not sure you can really do much at this point, if all the leaves are gone, the stalk is likely to die. But if it's still green you can try putting it in a sunny spot outside and see if the leaves come back. Has it been in the pot for very long and did you have it outside or inside?

    Excellent video, however my succulents are not in pots. They're throughout my yard in beds and the excessive rain has given them brown spots. Can you recommend a brand of fungicide I can spray on them all? I have taken a knife and cut away the ugly leaves - did I do right by doing that?

    • @SucculentGrowingTips
      @SucculentGrowingTips  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      oh no- sorry to hear that. They can recover pretty well from the damage once the rain stops for a bit though. You can use any multi- purpose fungicide from garden centres. The only thing you may not be able to target is edema, which is a disease that causes cells to die if they take up too much water. The only remedy for that is less water.. You can definitely remove the affected leaves. It can help the plant focus on re-growing. Hope this helps :)

    What fungicide do you recommend for succulents?

    I have a succulent that just died and it looks like the one that you have pictures of that was too far gone. I didn't notice the leaves getting soft and mushy and rotten until it was too late. But when I took the plant out, the soil in the pot was almost completely dried out. So now I don't know what I did wrong. I should add that the past few days I forgot to open the curtains so it only got filtered light.

      Oh no, sorry to hear that 😔 In my experience, these types of succulents don't like growing indoors that much and often stretch/die. Some people do manage to keep them going but they tend to struggle in most cases. I've done a few tests with them and even when they were bone dry the leaves and stem would go black on some and they look like rot has taken hold. You can get shade-tolerant succulents that will be ok indoors- Haworthia, Gasteria, Rhipsalis, Sansevieria are really good.🙂

      Yeah I have one that died too. It's confusing to perfectly balance the watering.

    If the plant already got attacked by fungi, should we keep the soil ? Or change it completely for a new plant ?

    • @SucculentGrowingTips
      @SucculentGrowingTips  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd definitely get rid of the soil or sterilize it (you can cook it to a certain temperature that will kill harmful fungus and bacteria) as fungus spores can live in the soil. It's best to completely replace the soil and wash off as much as you can. If you have a fungicide, you can also give the whole plant a spray, to be on the safe side🙂

    I would think watering them outside with the sun and watering inside the home would be different
