  • Via Lucis - Stations of the Resurrection
The Stations of the Resurrection, also known by the Latin name Via Lucis (Way of Light), are a form of devotions encouraging meditation upon the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and some of the Resurrection appearances and other episodes recorded in the New Testament.
The concept was devised in 1988.
The stations of light emphasise the positive, hopeful aspect of the Christian story which, though not absent from the Stations of the Cross, can be obscured by their emphasis upon suffering.
The Via Lucis is an excellent summary & compendium of the faith, since through the Cross one comes to the light.
Using the metaphor of a journey, the Via Lucis moves from the experience of suffering, which in God's plan is part of life, to the hope of arriving at our true end: liberation, joy and peace which are essentially paschal values.
In the next 14 days in the run up to Pentecost I invite you to join me for brief reflections on the delightful mysteries of light!
