Yes, exactly. He takes us to a journey inside his music which involves the whole audience. So emotional, really touching. Thanks Dan, Ken and (sorry don’t know his name) the keyboard Guy.
I read that Dan recorded this just a few short months after his father's death from cancer. Dan may have been thinking that he was actually " a son of pain" recalling what probably was the great pain of his dad's illness. Those tears were heartfelt.
"Son of Pain" a fitting song for Dan, obviously pulled on his heart strings. Some say it's because he went through quite a bad period of depression when he wasn't coping with his father's passing and he felt he wasn't succeeding as a singer. Dan wears his heart on his sleeve and for that we only love and adore him more. It kinda got to you too Ken, I've never heard you speechless!
I don't think Dan knows how to emulate emotion. Everything I've heard from him is pure and true emotion-wise. It's like he wraps himself in the music and lets it flow through him. He doesn't sing this, he cries it. What a gift he is! Ken, you too are a gift of knowledge. I always learn something new about vocalization from your reactions and I thank you. I would suggest you listen to Dan's cover of "Music in the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera". It will not disappoint.
Great reaction. Huge Dan Vasc fan here. I always appreciate reactions to Dan from people who actually understand what it takes and what he puts into each performance to produce the results we hear. I love the technical explanations you provide of the different vocal techniques he uses.
I’m old, seriously old and I love Dan and anything he does! The man that can sing awwmaaazing opera to metal to folk, show tunes. I think the only thing I haven’t heard him do is country. Thank you Ken for all the “reacts” you do and you too have a beautiful voice.
@@KristiStelzerthat is a beautiful song,,, and another beautiful but sombre number is the Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss duet, "Whiskey Lullaby", but again, unfortunately, probably not something that Dan would be interested in doing... In a way I'm a bit sad that he has become so well known because he was previously a tad more reachable and open to suggestions. Like all of our children, we must allow them to grow and spread their wings and find their own place in the world...😊 The last I heard, Dan was saying he has a couple of hundred songs on his list of requested covers, so it might take him a minute or two to get through them all, plus he is also currently working on the Manowar tribute album...😏 🙃🐨🇦🇺
Yes! I can't wait for the Manowar album. I'm hoping for a Christmas song cover also. Dan stated recently that he can be more choosy about what he covers now. I'm glad that he can take his time now, and I'm glad that we have so many of his songs to enjoy while we're waiting.
Thank you for a heartfelt reaction to Dan's version of "Son of Pain". He has the ability to convey every emotion in a way that moves me to feel his pain. What a gift Dan has and is. Just WOW!
I don’t know if you’ve done this or not I guess I’ll have to go back and look, he saying, Elvis Presley’s American Trilogy, and his father had passed like a week before, so the emotion is there. I can’t even describe it, because I’ll be in tears. If you haven’t seen Dan‘s American Trilogy, go listen to it, but take a box of tissues.
Thank you, Ken, for another reaction to Dan and the insights on the vocal techniques in the beginning. Yes, Dan's emotions are breathtaking as they are very real here. Looking at the lyrics, knowing Dan went through a phase of depression years ago (but came out of it even stronger) gives this song a deeper meaning than it already has.
Dan with his masterful voice is the best. His interpretation is so real. But Dan said in one of his comments: " Not all the tears are of sadness. Those lyrics speak of struggle, but a struggle that leads to light ,as all ot them do." His range, his emotion, as he singing...outstanding ! Thank you for your great reaction to Dan !😊
That song always, always hits the emotional high point for me. Fabio or Dan, it's immediate chills. In fact, Dan sounds a lot like young Fabio... He's actually doing two characters, the Angel and Dargor. Rhapsody's songs with the original formation were always part of a high fantasy saga, each album a new volume in the story. The music is one of the great triumphs of the las 50 years. It's breathtaking!
Agreed! I watched the video where Fabio and Dan sing Dawn of Victory together with Dans band Fearless. It was absolutely phenomenal. I thought Dan and Fabio sounded incredible together. Their voices meshed so incredibly well. Hail VascNation ❤
@@Kristina-jf4hd Yeah. Fabio is with Angra now and the last album, Cycles of Pain, is one master performance after another. Hope Dan has more chances to sing with him.
True Ken, after so many covers, Dan has left us silent, with no more words to qualify the greatness of his talent. Either it’s metal or any other genre, he’s capable of leading us to the exact reality the song wants to take us, to its world of magic and fantasy. Thank you for reacting to Dan once more. Fantastic reaction, you excelled yourself. Today you got my subscription, much well deserved 🙏🏻 BTW, if you haven’t reacted to Angels We Have Heard on High, it’s another exquisite rendition by Dan. …editing to add another excellent cover that is really worth watching, Heart of Steel, where you can see him talking about a very important problem he went through and millions of people are currently.
Hi! As usual, I did like your reaction. You don't just say that the singer has a beautiful voice, that he does a good job, or things like that. You go into the technical aspects of singing, which let us always learn something! I appreciate that and I thank you for that! Now, I think you should also react to Dan Vasc's "Last Ride of The Day" from Nightwish! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Dan is divine and his voice is out of this world. Without a mask or filter, he is pure, unadorned being. What a gift to this world🙏💞🌍💞. I am deeply grateful that I can see and hear it and have great respect for him. Thank you to you for your respectful response. I wait patiently for your next reactions and hope very much that "For All" may be the next cover to which you react and that Dan's message after the song will also receive your attention. Best regards from Germany
Love your reaction. Dan has a Rhapsody of Fire cover “Dawn of Victory “ with Fabio Leone. It was recorded at Dan’s in Brazil with his band Fearless. His brother Davi Vasc plays bass guitar.
I have heard Vasc only once before in a quote different performande. This was stunning, emotional, so good. Thanks for your emotional and professional reaction.
He might have been thinking of his late father with Dan being the" Son of Pain". The emotion was definitely genuine. Singing these songs must be therapeutic for him. With Fabio Leone being Italian like Dans dad, it probably hits very close to home. I enjoyed the cover and your reaction very much. Thanks
American Trilogy, Son of Pain, the Last Goodbye were recorded after his Dad died. I'm sure these songs brought back the memories and pain of his father's passing. Also Nessum Dorma was something that he said he and his father would sing in the car together, singing opera and his father telling stories of his family.
Have you seen his Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night? It's a great one! As is his American Trilogy that he sang just after his dad had passed away. Makes me cry every time I watch it.
Definitely touched my soul!!❤❤ Dan's ability to do that, is definitely an art and a gift. What a magnificent voice! Thank you for your inciteful and heartfelt reaction.
I love your in depth look at Dan’s performance. ❤️ And yes it did hit the emotional high point! Dan is a very thoughtful artist and I love the way you are explaining his techniques.
Love your reaction, also his commitment, to bringing us top performances. He went through a lot, to get where he is today. Giving up a lot of things, we like, to conserve and grow his voice. No caffeine, no iced water, sugar, no alcohol before or during performances and a lot more, those can impact on the vocal chords. Have a book that he wrote on preserving and strengthening your vocal chords. Also he said he will leave his first video on his site, so that you can see the growth and strengthening of his voice, where he breathed wrong and at the wrong places. I have even more respect for him after that book.
I love this songs so much, I like Fabio Lione very much, but this version by Dan ist simply without words - just goosebumps. These emotions he shows are unbelievable and every time I listen to his version I get tears in my eyes. Thank you for all your great and interesting reactions - not only from Dan.
Thank you for such a great reaction of the phenomenal vocal skill of Dan Vasc! The analysis of what he was doing and how he not only expressed his emotions, but PULLED them out of the audience as well. Not just any singer can do that! ❤
I love watching people reacting to Dan’s performances and you did not disappoint!!! I love the way you react and so appreciate your insight re Dan’s voice!!! You got my subscription today!! I am totally addicted to Dan’s music… he has the most amazing voice and is such a humble human being!
Wonderful reaction, once again. I always thought only Beverly Sills could cry and still sing beautifully! I love this performance. I’m still astonished by his stylistic range, not to mention his vocal and emotional range. I’ve been obsessively listening for the past day or two to Burn Butcher Burn - hard to grasp that the same person does them both, and knocks them both out of the park. Thanks for your knowledgeable and appreciative comments.
This song is beautiful and Dan sing beautifully. Dan is the man! Thank you Ken for your analysis and words about Dan. Please, listen Abandoned (Kamelot). Dan sing beautifully like always. ❤ Rio-Brazil
I've listened to this thousands of times and it always gets me very emotional. I've no words to express how awesome that was. What a great and emotional performance 😢 This guy is fantastic, absolutely phenomenal.
This is one of my favorites of Dan's covers. I love it, but I love most of his music to the point that I wake up in the mornings with one of his songs playing in my head. lol! He is the best! 😘
Thank you for a great reaction to this song. Dan performed this around the time his father died of cancer. His pain was real and his emotions were in shreds during this song. His tears were real and he is a truly remarkable singer who didn’t hide his pain, but let it flow out of him into this song. He tore my heart out and I was crying with him by the end of the song. I love Dan Vasc’s ability to draw the listener into the depths of the song, every shadow and nuance that can only be felt from life experience. He pulls the listener into the heart of the song right along with him. It’s like you are actually sitting right beside him while he is singing; it feels that personal. Dan is truly a special vocalist and singer and obviously a good person. I look forward to many more years of listening to his music.
Hey Ken. It was sad but it was beautiful! Dan does an excellent job and he is not afraid to show us the emotion he feels singing this! Dan is very intense and true!Thank you for your great analysis;)
I was crying, too, at the end. I didn't realize Dan was until you said something. I've never heard this kind of operatic metal before, but it suits Dan's style perfectly.
That you demonstrate with your own voice the vocal coach terms you use that are unknown to me make your reactions very interesting and informative. Thank you. Dan did his usual captivating performance and your obviously sincere enjoyment (goosebumps included ) of his skills make for a very enjoyable reaction. Please do more.
I’ve been wanting to hear your reaction to Dan singing Son of Pain. Thank you, Ken. It was well worth waiting for. So much emotion. I have tears every time I listen to it. In my opinion, Dan’s ability has no match.
I hear that fantastic song every day and on days when I'm already emotional, I fight back tears.🥲 So incredible good, heartmelting... I love it so much! ❤Oh, and Fabio Lione = Fabio Tordiglione :) And thanks for your great reaction to this video.
You had me at "declamatory". I was just explaining to someone this morning why reactions like yours (that is, by reactors who actually know what's happening and how - and can even sometimes make an educated guess at the "why" - not to mention being able to explain what's happening eloquently) are so much more worth watching than people who just sit there, clearly impressed by what's happening, but equally clearly clueless as to how it's happening. Thanks for another great reaction! (I also REALLY appreciate the fact that your reactions aren't interrupted by ads. I have no problem with ads before or after the video, but having them pop up in the middle is incredibly annoying.)
IDK how anyone can listen to this indifferently. Not possible. There will be tears, chills, a squeezing of the heart for sure. Dan was so amazing here and this humble fan has such regard for him not editing out the tears. Thank you for yet another great reaction, truly appreciated it. 😊
Amazing. I love his ability to make you truly feel and share his pain. Masterful. Thank you for this marvelous reaction and sharing your thoughts and feelings. Peace and blessings to all who are feeling lost and experiencing loss and pain.
Dear Ken, thank you for your always interesting and enjoyable reactions! I would love you to react to Dan's 'A million dreams' from 'The greatest showman'. ❤ Judith
Love this cover, a goose bump performance. Dan puts in 💯 every time. He never ceases to amaze on every musical level. Great to see you respond the same. Keep the Dan coming!!! ❤
Ken, I noticed that this is the first time you surrendered completely to the emotion and didn't interrupt too much to describe the techniques. This is not a criticism, as your analyses are perfect. It is just an observation that confirms our perception of Dan's work. Dan is a singer who expresses pure emotion with the right use of technique, making him one of the most versatile vocalists I have ever heard. Thank you for paying attention to Dan's work!
The first time I heard Dan do this I was so mesmerized I forgot to comment! Dan Vasc lost his dad at age 17, it wasn’t difficult for him to show his true emotion! He’s fantastic!❤❤❤
Yes! An easy mistake. Probably, from seeing 2017 and thinking" oh he was 17" I think I've read that he sang it for his dad a few days after he passed, as a tribute. What a loving son he is.
Ken, I think this is my favorite review of all time. Your genuine reaction and appreciation are so readily apparent and undeniable. You have a trained ear and a discerning eye, so to elicit a wave of shivers, the performer must be pretty good. I just love your commentary. You, young man, also have a beautiful voice.
I mean at this point a reaction to Rhapsody of Fire - Magic of Wizard's Dream with Fabio Leone and none other then Christopher Lee, singing symphonic metal (Rhapsody was one of the pioneers of it) , is quite in order. Saruman himself singing is a blast
This song marks the memory of coming OUT of a deep depression - devastating and almost deadly. Daniel looked for answers in places - until that moment - not frequented by his soul... and found them!🙏🏻 His tears (Dan himself commented) are not of sadness, but of gratitude and pride... they are tears of Victory!! (the greatest of victories, I think - which will be a victory over oneself, a choice of Light and its price to be paid). As you can see, the message remains clear: we can all win. ❤️🥹 And, yeeeess, I burst into tears along with him!🥹 Thank you for your reaction and clarifications! Hugs from Curitiba -Brazil 🇧🇷
Ken, thank you so much for this review! Your reviews are always so interesting and informative. This is THE song that made me a Dan Vasc fan! His performance is so incredible and touching. I so love how Dan can make us feel such powerful emotions with his singing. ❤
You do such awesome, detailed reactions, brother! I enjoy your approach to what you see and hear. You have excellent observations. Thank you once again for your love and support for The Treasure From Brazil…Dan Vasc!!!! I love how Dan expresses and embodies the songs he does….his skills are FIRE!!! I have experienced tears and being moved by music at times, however, when it comes to Dan’s artistry it is like being hit by a train, engulfed in fire, then blown to smithereens! Dan completely slays and demolishes it to where you’re dumbstruck and thunderstruck, lol!!! In my opinion, what Dan brings is so vast that you can never run out of things to say about him….it is like finding a very deep well of water that can never run dry….it is LIFE!!! #4everluvthevasc #danvascisbeyondepic #abazillionthanksforthebrazilian #danvascthetreasurefrombrazil
The first time I heard this song I got goosebumps all over me. I did feel the song straight into my heart cause I've been there (dark place) a few times to many. The pain and searching I felt into the song and like Dan I cried at the end. I still feel it and cry again every time when I hear it. Dan did the song justice and still works hard to do/get better every day/song. His dad would be so proud of him. And Ken I love to see the joy and excitement you get when Dan is singing as we all do and love Dan.
I love Dan performing this song! He does so much more than just singing it. I get goosebumps, tears and emotions overflowing. Ken, I thoroughly enjoyed your review. Love how much you enjoy Dan’s technique and explain what Dan is doing with his voice. Thank you!
That performance moved me as well. His performances often give me chills. He is actually holding back tears, and it comes through in his voice, in the mood, in EVERYTHING! Not uncommon with a Dan Vasc rendition! The guy could make “Mary had a little Lamb” an emotional workout!! Thank you for the fantastic reaction!!🩷🩷
Dan is a vocal beast! This was just astonishing-so emotional and so strong. Wow!!
I hope Dan sees this. Leaving Ken speechless with goosebumps like us, is priceless.

That was indescrible. I felt it deep inside.
Dan Vasc é pura emoção 😢
What a wonderful musician. I can’t wait to hear what Dan is doing next. I’m so in love with his voice.❤️
Very good reaction. Thank you. Dan has said he often feels strong emotions while singing and incorporates it into his performance.
OMG! I cry every time I watch this performance! 💞
And that pianist is amazing!
AGREED - to everything.
Me too
Especially “You had me at ‘declamatory’.” 😂
Muito emocionante o DAN VASC, ficou visivelmente com as feições e seus olhos molhados ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Obrigada por sua reação!!!!!!!!!
IDK how anyone can listen to this indifferently. Not possible. There will be tears, chills, a squeezing of the heart for sure. Dan was so amazing here and this humble fan has such regard for him not editing out the tears. Thank you for yet another great reaction, truly appreciated it. 😊
Another great performance from Dan, and I love your reaction😊
Dan's tears and pain is 100% real. His dad had died and this song was a tribute to him. 💖🌹
Goosebumps - so emotional❣
Actually, his dad passed when Dan was 27 in 2017. Dan just turned 34 last month. Just FYI.😊
Yes! An easy mistake. Probably, from seeing 2017 and thinking" oh he was 17" I think I've read that he sang it for his dad a few days after he passed, as a tribute. What a loving son he is.
Stunningly, emotional performance.. His voice and performance was superb.
Great reaction. This is one of the handful of Dan's performances that i can't watch without tearing up. And there are just no words. Hail ❤️🤘✝️
I have commented here on this before but your reaction was beautiful. I have no more words for Dan Vasc either.
I mean at this point a reaction to Rhapsody of Fire - Magic of Wizard's Dream with Fabio Leone and none other then Christopher Lee, singing symphonic metal (Rhapsody was one of the pioneers of it) , is quite in order. Saruman himself singing is a blast
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful although sad song. Dan is amazing!
Two requests….. Gethsemane from JCST and Ever Dream from Nightwish. Your reactions are truly treats to our ears. And Dan Vasc is our sweetest treat!
Your requests are filled. You can find these 2 songs of his on any music platform or his you tube playlist
This song gets me every time!! He brings such emotion! He just draws you in. Feeling the song!! He’s amazing !!! Thanks for your reaction. ❤️
This song marks the memory of coming OUT of a deep depression - devastating and almost deadly.
Daniel looked for answers in places - until that moment - not frequented by his soul... and found them!🙏🏻
His tears (Dan himself commented) are not of sadness, but of gratitude and pride... they are tears of Victory!!
(the greatest of victories, I think - which will be a victory over oneself, a choice of Light and its price to be paid).
As you can see, the message remains clear: we can all win. ❤️🥹
And, yeeeess, I burst into tears along with him!🥹
Thank you for your reaction and clarifications!
This is and has been another fave .... Such a perfect performance 😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
