Wasn't the comic version of Ralph and Casey fight apart of the original Comic book. Because wasn't this in the micro comic Raphael. Because I know that it was Leonardo that the foot fought on the Roof of April's apartment and they threw him threw a window.
The old Turtles Den sometimes when they release a movie and they have a book that comes out based on the movie extra scenes that they could not put into the movie for whatever reason is added into the book that includes dialogue as well so that may be why they may have been a reason why it wasn't shot or add to movie so that might be various reasons if they release an anniversary edition I don't think any of this footage exist because it was added to the comic book version of the movie which I must be impressed I didn't know actually existed so what the other deleted scenes I suppose they could put back in but I do agree with you on that it would be nice to see the scenes that were actually shot at it back and release all three Ninja Turtle movies in a trilogy pack but let's not hold our breath this is the movie industry referring to they haven't had a original idea in how long I don't think I need to tell you but I do agree with you if they do need to do that but will it happen don't hold our breaths dreams are nice but that's all they are thank you again for adding some more insightful things and I didn't know there was an actual book based on the movie I can take a look into getting it good luck great material thank you again😂
THE OLD TURTLE DEN - by Tonight's Top Movie Moment The only thing that I didn’t like about the original is the way splinter learn karate it should’ve follow the comic to the tea
the shredder sews there failures on to there skin so they never forget, it was supposedly removed for being to violent, shame really set the tone of how bad as he is and really amps up the roof top confrontation!
The scene where Shredder fights the thugs while sitting is actually him punishing the thugs who failed to mug April in the alley. It's in the comic and novelization of the movie.
Yes. The novel is more brutal. When Tatsu attacks the foot for failing to kill the Turtles, he kills on of the the foot soldiers after Shredder glares at him for letting the turtles escape. It was originally shot that the guy gets killed but was later redubbed saying that the guy will be ok.
That's why I love comic and novel adaptations! They have all the parts that always seem to have been made for the film but we're edit out for various reasons.
Don't forget shinsho's death, tatsu was originally supposed to kill shinsho in the locker room like in the original script for the film but it was cut due to the scene being too dark and sad so it got changed up to him being critically injured from the attack.
There was also a bunch of cut scenes on the farm. - One had the gang doing a sparring match where Leo turned his mask around to fight the others. Donny wears a straw hat in the scene. - Lots and lots of April and Casey ship tease, including Casey trying and failing to fix the truck door and April showing Casey her drawings of the Turtles. - More scenes of Mikey being angsty, which led into the Turtle Wax scene and told April and Casey that Mikey was back to normal. - A training scene where the Turtles played Hot Potato using an apple. This is why Raphael has an apple at the start of the final act when the Foot invade.
There used to be these paperback mini-books back in the early 1990's--about 5x7 in (I wanna say)--where I feel like I remember a few of those scenes made it in, particularly the sparring scene with Leonardo's mask flipped around. One of the books was basically just the entire barn/hideout sequences and the part with visions of Splinter appearing in the campfire etc etc, compressed down into a children's book.
TNMT 1990 is easily one of my top 5 greatest films of all time. I played this VHS tape until it popped, and convinced my parents to get me another one.
I remember seeing those shells rising from the water when I was 5 and being shocked that I didn't see it in the actual film. My parents even took me back to the theaters to see the movie again, in case I somehow missed it. Now, 30 years later, I'm getting closure.
I think the Mikey arch on the farm was interesting. He actually had no dialogue the entire time at the farm. He was also seen as pretty hardcore. He was kicking butt in their sparring sessions, seen hitting the punching bag and the rooftop scene when he called for Splinter (but with Raph's voice, which happened often in the 1980s cartoon). Another scene that got me was when Leo brought them out to the fire to meditate on Splinter, when Donny pulled out the marshmallows, Mikey nudged Donny to put them away and get serious.
I would absolutely love to see Steve Barron revisit this movie. Restoring old footage. Getting Robbie Rist to come in and record Mikey yelling "splinter!". An extended director's cut would be awesome.
Learning more about the potential barn scene with Mikey really opened my eyes to how much he was really going through without splinter... especially after just reading the last Ronin....😭
Turtle screaming on the barn roof has nunchucks, it’s Mikey. Also. That scene with Donnie and Mikey at the beginning, waiting for the pizza dude. Donnie asks him, whats he think about Splinter telling them he’ll not being around someday. Mikey doesn’t even answer, he doesn’t want to answer or think about Splinter leaving them. Another deleted segment was April drawing Mikey, and talking about how dark he got, or how difficult it was for him. Really hope we get an extended cut someday.
Studios always make the same silly mistake. First film comes out which is serious and is a success, with both adults and kids. They decide to make a 'family friendlier' sequel and it always bombs. They do this with almost every franchise and just never learn
I’ve always been perplexed about why filmmakers have been afraid to fully flesh out and develop Michelangelo’s character. I know he’s the silly wise guy of the group but it’s often said that the funniest clowns carry the deepest pain. I wanna see a ninja turtles movie where Michelangelo and Donatello actually get some decent character development.
It also likely comes from executives. Mikey is consistently the kid-appeal character, and adding too much depth and character development makes it harder to justify him being the super goof that kiddies love.
I've read there is a deleted scene where after he Turtles, April and Casey flee the city, Shredder scars members of the Foot for allowing this. This was cut for issues of violence. Also originally in the scene where Tatsu (I think that's how its spelt) beats the Foot members, the one he seriously injures was supposed to have died. But again the death was considered too violent and the scene was edited with added sounds of groaning to imply the guy was still alive.
It's been established that Michelangelo is a fan of the Rocky movies early in the film. It's very possible that the planned scene was intended to be based on Rocky's training montage in Rocky IV after losing Apollo Creed. The way he stands on top of the barn is very similar to how Rocky stands on the mountain.
@@ninjaturtlemaster24 And they always have these scenes in the trailer too! Like "The Land Before Time", they edited out 10 minutes of 19 fully animated scenes so they could obtain a G rating instead of a PG rating. That kind of stuff should be released in a Director's Cut for sure.
I want them to show the movie(s) in theaters again, like how they have done with other movies that has been out for years. A special dvd with all the extra stuff would be radical.
Tmnt is one of the best comic movies ever made. Watching it back as an adult I was really impressed by it, and so happy they allowed a dark gritty version of the turtles.
In the movie that was released, in the sparring scene at the farm, Michelangelo was fighting better than the other turtles. Also, Michelangelo fought the longest against Shredder.. That was probably the result of the intense training scenes of Michelangelo that were deleted.
Yeah, when they showed Casey bring Splinter to the fight scene, you could hear Mikey gasping as he was fighting, Shredder dispatched Leo and Raph quickly. Donny did pretty well on the second wave of attacks and Leo actually got some good hits in on him.
What movie did you watch. When Casey and splinter are looking up at the roof you can hear Mickey's voice effects fighting longer but there is no proof. Leonardo is the only one who stood up to shredder. If you rewatch the movie you will see leo cut shredder on his shoulder.
I just found you yesterday and I'm hooked! I'm 33 and the 1990 TMNT and 3 ninjas were the movies that started my love of ninja flicks. I love your channel and it's clear you have a passion for the turtles. Great content my friend thank you.
I have ALWAYS noticed that Mikey never got a segment at the house when April was sketching them all. He was my favourite so it stuck out like a sore thumb, and I always liked to think that Mikey was secretly just as pent up as Raph, but he used humour to let the rage escape - something which Raph never mastered. An extended Director's cut Blu-Ray is at least 20 years overdue, and they should not only do it, but also cram in every detail, deleted scene, interview, and set photo that they can manage. I'm sure that if they started a kickstarter then it would get paid for, and then some.
Ya I heard he ends up destroying the barn and that Mikey is actually the most dangerous turtle and has the most rage. It's like they say it's usually the people who like to make people laugh are really sad and angry on the inside
@tyrone kinard you see wat they did to the first reboots. Either you gotta or you don't. Michael Bay know caught mad heat for making those Transformer movies, why in the fuck would anyone let him touch the Turtles. Man when I thought they were going to reboot it I was excited and then when the art for them came out, I was like, oh I see they don't give a F. I wish someone of these good studio's would jump in and talk the helm and try to buy them rights back from Nickelodeon. Bcus in my opinion, they messed it up and then and went and hooked up with Bay to do it. Then the backstory was totally bogus..smh. I showed my nephew's the old school one we grew up on and they liked it way better. One of nephew's asked why they look so different, and now they bleeding that stuff into the cartoons. All this talent out in Hollywood and they keep screwing up stuff. Is Disney the only one that knows what they are doing? And I'm not just talking about the MCU neither, they killing on their rebrand of old movies from their own vault..lmao. that's hats off to them like for real though. I just hope it's better this time around, if not please, please, please, sell them rights to a Studio that will kill with the whole Turtles Universe 😉
@ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime no I'm saying I'm lying on not caring who gets the rights. I do care, bcus Bay messed them up and Nickelodeon. So yeah someone like them, yes bcus they would know what to do with them.
Fun fact, Raphael was the only turtle not voiced over in the film. Josh Pais did both the voice and was the guy in the costume. Plus he was the guy in the cab that said "what the heck was that?'
This movie is one of those where it's always interesting to look into the history of it, so I would welcome a collector's edition/director's cut release in the future
I always assumed it was Raph because of the voice. It would have been a deeper film if they showed Mikey - the party dude, in a deep state of anger and depression. I think a few changes were made to this film when the popularity of the Turtles took off, becasue production started before the cartoon became really popular. I'm guessing they put in a few more kid friendly bits as sometimes the dark tone can clash with the more goofy bits. I suppose they didn't want kids to see the happy Turtle all angry.
I have nothing but the upmost RESPECT for EVERYONE involve in the production of the TMNT movie(s). These films were absolute badass when i was a kid and even today they are heaps of fun. The first two in particular had the perfect lighting and mood & overal tone. And my god, Judith Hoag & Paige Tuco were absolutely sweet as April O'Neil. And Elias Koteas as Casey Jones couldn't have been any better. This man absolutely NAILED the role. The live action Turtles were so well done and you can really feel the enthusiasm of everyone involved. And yes, i'd LOVE to see an extended (possibly even R-Rated) version of the 1990 movie. When the film came out i already saw and loved the animated TV series and loved that nod to the show when April wore that yellow rain-coat at the beginning.
Rewatching this movie with my kid, as an overanalytical adult, I totally agree with you about Michelangelo's emotional arc. It's a shame so much was cut, but I think it's exceptionally powerful to have a "party dude" suddenly withdraw and become traumatized by both his father missing and his brother in a coma. You see his avoidance of emotion earlier when Donatello asks about Splinter not being around forever, to which he changes the subject to the pizza delivery being on time. Great video!
Most, if not all of the deleted scenes were not included for good reason, though I'd love for them to be included as extras in a comprehensive rerelease of the film. Most were not included simply because they just were not up to snuff, ruined the pacing of the film, or kind of took the film out of it's zone. The Shredder fight scene demonstration against him and FOOT ninja when he's first revealed not only looked a bit awkward, and unremarkable, it also would've killed the mystery surrounding SHREDDER and what he could do. Finally seeing just how superior he was as a fighter compared to the Turtles towards the end of the film was the right call.
This movie is incredible. One of my favorite movies period, not just a turtle movie. What the real shame is, is not continuing this storyline. I know Secret of the Ooze took it in a logical direction but the Turtles already looked different and the tone of the movie was much lighter and sillier. I would've loved for the Turtles to have looked the same and had that same NY grit through all 3 films. TMNT 1990 is a classic, damn near masterpiece
I've always assumed there had to be some deleted scene during that April sequence where she's talking about the turtles and how they're handling things. She talks about Don, then Leo, and then just abruptly cuts to "And then there's Casey Jones...." and never mentions Mikey. Even 9 year old me thought that something was off there. So yea, something definitely got cut out.
According to IMDb, the deleted scenes with Michelangelo would've shown him in a state of depression following their failure to find out Splinter's location. The scene where Mikey jokes about using Turtle Wax after working out and April and Casey react with relief would've been because of how depressed he'd been getting.
In the mirage comic it shows Mikey going hard with training, then he goes into a depressive state at the end. It would have been great to see. Wish we could get a hardcore show that followed mirage. Even if it started from the beginning it would be epic!
All of those scenes would have been awesome to be included in the movie. I would have really enjoyed the added depth to Michelangelo's character. The entire series of scenes at the farmhouse is so good - in my opinion the greatest stretch of cinematography I've ever seen. The way the light cuts through the trees and saturates the film is absolutely beautiful. You can feel the setting of the old farmhouse with its overgrown surroundings and creaky floorboards in every shot. The character bonding and tension throughout the farmhouse scenes is just crazy good.
Dude this is great content! Especially with the content about Michelangelo this just confirmed the scene in the movie with Donatello and Michelangelo were talking while waiting on the pizza. At first I thought he was just being his usual scattered brain self when Donatello asked Mikey about not having Splinter. But in actuality Mikey could not really handle that especially just being a teenager at a time of important development and growing pains, especially of being a “mutant teenager “ I thought that was GENIUS how he totally dodged the question in his party scatter brained personality! Now that you mentioned it was Michelangelo who was training in the barn and how he was screaming Splinter at the barn rooftop this just connects the dots on that scene I mentioned earlier. This was a treasure dude keep up with the great content, also let me know how I can donate to your channel.
Sovereign Renaissance I was gonna comment about the exact same connection regarding the scene you mentioned, but you pointed it out nicely! 👍🏼 Mikey’s training scenes and the conversation between him and Donnie in the beginning showcased a deeper side to Mikey when you connect the dots. They really missed something with deleting this connection. Still love this film, tho. And it’s nice knowing what should’ve been there. I always imagined Mikey feeling the weight of Splinter’s lost when I watched the brief moment it showed of him punching the bag in the barn when I was a kid anyway. So they should’ve just kept this in. It’s subtly implied, but having April mention it via drawings would’ve made it better.
Jason Rainwater RIGHT! Honestly there was scenes that definitely should have been left in. I always thought there were some things that could have been expanded upon especially for Mikey and that would have been excellent development for him and it would definitely make me look at Michelangelo in a new light. When he did this video of the lost scenes the director really missed a great opportunities that in my opinion would have made this movie even MORE legendary.
Sovereign Renaissance Yes! They really need to create a 30th anniversary Blu-ray for next year and add in or have extras with all this stuff. Mikey, I feel, has a much deeper character than just being a “party dude.” By nature he’s very playful, yet that’s what would make the mentioned scene so meaningful... to see the guy who’s always playful feeling the pain of his father’s loss, it would show how strongly these teen heroes are affected. Perhaps they decided it wasn’t necessary to go that deep with Mikey, but like you, I feel it would’ve made the movie even better 🙂
I remember the Shredder fight demonstration in the novel. It’s supposed to show how the Foot soldier earns that bandana that we see them getting from Shredder in the movie.
There should be a Kickstarter or an Indiegogo campaign to have an extended cut collector's edition made. Next year it will be the film's 30th anniversary, it's about time it deserves the deluxe treatment.
The 90s film series version of Michelangelo is my favorite. Every other version has him too comical, not showing he has depth, but this version shows it.
There's also a scene I saw in the cinema, but never again. When the four turtles were training at the farm, Leo pulled down his bandana, covering his eyes and asked the other turtles to challenge him. hesitant at first, they eventually did, and Leo defeated them. I also had a story book that had that scene included. But for nothing could I find those scenes on VHS (back in the day), nor DVD
I hear a rumor that there was a scene of Casey Jones in his apartment, listening to the news looking at his hockey mask before he takes to the streets. I don’t know how true it is but it sounds cool.
Judith Hoag (April) says that she doesn't like the movie because the producers cut too much of the "soul" out of the final film, and she talks about one particular "mystical through-line" scene that she says was cut but is very important to understanding part of the movie... so I came here wondering if that scene exists somewhere on TH-cam. Still looking, unfortunately.
I remember reading the novelization of the movie as a kid; they included the alternate ending with the publisher, which I always figured was just a scene that was made up by the author. It blew my mind a few years ago to see that it had actually been made!
I've seen this movie countless time and never once noticed it was Mikey on the barn roof. It honestly makes you wonder about him even more because look how hard he was going at that punching bag trying to get the anger and frustration out. As has been shown in recent years, the person who hurts the most is also the one who tries to make everyone laugh.
That original Turtle poster with all 4 popping their heads out of the sewer lid is one of the greatest movie posters ever created! It has bugged me for years, why we never saw a Michelangelo sketch. I always figured it was cut...
Yeah I think its because it was a character arc that they explored with Mike that they either didn't have time to go into or that they figured just didn't fit in with anything else he was doing in the movie. I think it would have been cool because of how much more like the comics than the cartoon the movie was. In the comics Mikey DOES have a lot of emotional issues that the whole "party dude" attitude is ment to cover up, like its his defense/coping mechanism. And while the movie focuses on the relationship and dynamic between Leo and Raph(which IS very important and I wish its something that the cartoon had done) in the comics there actually exists a very strong relationship between Raph and Mikey. As the oldest besides Leo(who is the leader and has to take responsiblity for the whole team) Raph feels like it's his responsibility to take up for and watch out for Mikey who is the youngest. This is a constant point of contention between the two because Mikey feels coddled by it and at times feels like Raph is holding him back. Example: Raph volunteering to take on a task that would have otherwise went to Mikey because he felt it was "too dangerous" for him. Or Raph "taking it easy" on Mikey and forcing Leo and Donnie to do the same during training for fear of his younger siblings getting hurt. These things were also a constant source of irritation for Splinter, on the one hand, irritated that his older sons are coddling the younger(he IS trying to train killers) but on the other, knowing his younger son's limitations compared to his brothers.
Also to link what you said about Mikey training and his mindset at the time... You notice during the fight against shredder that while it annoyingly doesn't show Mikey fight you can HEAR that he's giving shredder a good fight
I think I still have one of those sticker albums somewhere. It's think it's almost complete too. At the time, I thought it was so weird that there were scenes in the sticker book that weren't in the movie. I also always really liked the illustration on the front cover, because it made the Turtles look so gritty and 'New Yorky'.
I cant believe how great this movie still is. The perfect balance between 80s cartoon Turtles and and the original comics. Its crazy how this came together. I love this film so much, I still have a big framed poster of in my living room. I hope they release a special edition with everything they can find about it and put in in there.
So it looks like the UK got a lot of stuff the US version didn't, mostly in the fight at April's apartment as I remember bits missing from the US version like Donatello saying ''Uh oh!'' followed by the floorboard creaking slightly longer before the floor caving in. The US got the scene with Michaelangelo and foot having a 'Nunchuck off' which for me is the main missing scene. There is also a couple bits from the farm (Wax on wax off) and in the final battle with the foot eg: A slightly longer shot of the turtles stepping out the sewers before Donnie and Mikey squash the foot with their shells. Also quite a few extra bits up on the roof fight. Michaelangelo vs Shredder. It always bugged me the UK version cut his fight sequence out because of the Nunchaku ban. And finally splinter and Shredder ''Death comes for us all, Oroku Saki....'' Hopefully one day we'll have an ultimate version with more deleted footage and outakes.
helicoptersrkool I think the DVD of the movie they re released around the time that the first Bay turtle movie was releasing had the cut scenes in place in the U.K
The scene with the Shredder going at those guys while sitting down. The guys going after him are the same 4 guys that tried to mug April in the parking lot but the turtles saved her and tied the guys up. The police did take them away but apparently someone from the clan went and bailed them out. After Shredder defeats all 4 of them easily, they've all gotten cuts. Shredder says, "The money used to pay your bail is money lost to The Foot." Later, you can see one of them standing with the foot soldiers clenching his arm from the cut.
Sir! One day I’d like to meet you just to shake your hand. You turn over every rock to find us any content on the big green machine. I always wonder even as a kid why they never talked about Mikey. I would’ve personally loved that Mikey took it the hardest that his master & brother are the break of death. I mean he’s known as the unpredictable turtle, and it makes since to have him be angry because he always happy. Thank you!
Deleted and alternate scenes, commentary with director actors, music videos "Spin That Wheel" and "Turtle Power", Tfiles, interactive menus, behind the scenes/making footage clips from behind the shell, even adding on TMNT2 with material, the Barbra Walters special interview. There's so much to add to a deluxed edition of tmnt.
As cool as these scenes could have been, I'm glad they didn't extend the Casey and Raph fight beyond Raph losing him after slamming into a taxi. It just ends so delightfully with Raph's line "I'm not finished with you! DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!" Totally would have ruined the scene if they went beyond that. It's a huge laugh for one thing, but it also adds to Raph's unfocused anger and frustration in his character arc.
I think it would've been interesting seeing Michael training...his character mood changing would've drew more attention. Never seeing that side of him.
There's so much promotional material for this film that I remember seeing on TV, in magazines, etc. back when it first released. I don't know if any of you remember, but there was a kick ass commercial for the film soundtrack where movie Donatello and Mikey (complete with their movie voice actors) were standing under some sort of elevated freeway or bridge or something at night, speaking to one another (while you could see the cold breath coming from their mouths) about the artists and songs on the soundtrack. Best thing about the commercial was that it looked like it was shot by the actual crew that did the film. Like, it didn't miss a beat, and looked awesome. It's various little things that I remember about what went into promoting it that showed the heart and care that went into producing this film. Judith Hoag has gone on record over the decades saying that she ultimately didn't like the finished film because the original cut and other story stuff they wound up leaving out of the original script took alot of the heart and soul away. She's a damn good actor, and the best April ever, but she always come across as being someone who probably takes herself and her craft a bit too seriously. Anyways, I'm not saying she's wrong and that we couldn't have gotten an even better film based on what she said, but for her not to like the final cut of what we got in the end, I have to question her views of what makes a great film and why.
This is an amazing video. I seen the shredder seen before. But the rest that you had on your video it blowed my mind away. You should make a video of tmnt The 2nd one.
For years I thought I was crazy but knowing the theatrical release and home video releases were always different fixed that. Now add in all these extra cut scenes and it would be perfect. Between the 5 original production houses, New Line Cinema and Nickelodeon somebody make it happen. 35+ year Turtle fandom deserves a ultimate edition of this film!
Man...that mike scene in the barn should have been added. They could have showed a transition of him being party all the time Mike to Shit just got real Mike. Especially, with splinter being gone, not knowing if he is dead or not...yeah that scene would have been perfect.
This video showed up in my recommendations and I gotta day, you nailed it! Subscribed! An extended directors cut of this movie is my holy grail and I really hope it sees the light of of day. That “alternative ending” scene would work best as an after credits thing rather than being tacked on right at the end.
Apparently it's down to physical media being really popular in Germany, so there's a market for this. There's been a few films given extra treatment by German distributors (who are prepared to spend money on extra stuff, such as getting Steve Barron in to record a commentary). Also the Turtles have a significant following there.
It gives us more depth of Michelangelo. But he does give us the meaning of deception. I would love to see them do it like Terminator 2 Judgement Day, on how the worked the deleted scenes into the movie. An Uncut Version. It just gives it more depth.
If you're a kid of the era, TMNT (1990) is just one of those movies that will always have a special place in your heart. This was a time before it was commonplace for your favorite comic book/TV show to become a major motion picture (right on the heels of Batman '89)--and for the movie to be not just good but GREAT; surpassing the expectation set by the tone of the super kid-friendly animated series was both surprising & amazing. The way the film builds to the Turtles final showdown with Shredder on the rooftop reminds me a lot of Ghostbusters (1984). Old school NY vibes & classic movie making magic.--And that soundtrack...beyond DOPE. Good times!
TMNT was my entire early childhood. More specifically the original 1987-1996 series along with the original 3 movies although not so much the third. It would be amazing to get an extended directors cuts with these deleted scenes all in tact.
Someone pointed out to the deleted scenes with Mikey, in the fight training scene at the farm, we see the other three brothers all fighting against Mikey, and Mikey holding his own against all of them. This alludes heavily to the idea that Mikey was training harder than the others
this film is so important to me, its my favorite and always thought of it as the best. it makes me really sentimental thinking all this could have made it even better! that mikey part really got to me and as someone else commented now the part when he doesnt answer donatello while waiting for the pizza takes a whole level of meaning!

Man this was good stuff... one of my favorite movies all time
when again is the actual date of the 30th anniversary
Shredder demonstrating his fighting skill in that deleted scene when he fights the Foot Clan, would've been a great addition to this film.
Ironically not using his feet at all.
All these additional footage scenes, are in the novelization of the movie, that I got when I was 11, still got it too.
the shredder sews there failures on to there skin so they never forget, it was supposedly removed for being to violent, shame really set the tone of how bad as he is and really amps up the roof top confrontation!
Sure, but we didn't need to see what Shredder can do because we already knew what he could do, so waiting until the end was worth the wait.
Nah I think it's better without
Im 36..the turtles were the best part of my childhood.
The scene where Shredder fights the thugs while sitting is actually him punishing the thugs who failed to mug April in the alley. It's in the comic and novelization of the movie.
legionaireb would have loved seeing that
Yes. The novel is more brutal. When Tatsu attacks the foot for failing to kill the Turtles, he kills on of the the foot soldiers after Shredder glares at him for letting the turtles escape. It was originally shot that the guy gets killed but was later redubbed saying that the guy will be ok.
It was in it the premier night here where I live but when I went to see it again a few days later it had been cut out
That's why I love comic and novel adaptations!
Gflipnitz Blruiken wow 🤩 thanks so much for this 😊.
Hopefully they release ALL these scenes on DVD!
The turned mask and Donnie wearing a cowboy hat is in the movie, it starts with Leo briefly, then focuses on Mikey with his mask turned.
TNMT 1990 is easily one of my top 5 greatest films of all time. I played this VHS tape until it popped, and convinced my parents to get me another one.
My siblings & I used to watch it just about everyday as kids. We had the whole movie memorized & we would recite the lines.
VHS tapes pop? I've never seen that happen
That scene with Shredder sitting down defending himself is badass
Aaron Nicewonger, a Ridley Scott Blade Runner-esque odyssey.

They more than likely have the original "Splinter" scream from Mikey on tape somewhere, so I doubt they would need to bring him back.
would love a director'scut
I think he unfortunately was fired during post production
@@tristanmohr112 oh no. I didn't know that.
Learning more about the potential barn scene with Mikey really opened my eyes to how much he was really going through without splinter... especially after just reading the last Ronin....😭
I’m thinking it was Ralph since he was the one who took it real hard with Splinter’s abduction
I'm sure it's a great story regardless of the spoiler
I love how they did the opening scenes. Hearing instead of seeing them gave it the more stealthy vibe which Splinter always preaches.
Love this movie, they never quite got it right since this one. Hopefully the upcoming movie reboot captures the magic again.
I will probably watch the film reboot.
Studios always make the same silly mistake. First film comes out which is serious and is a success, with both adults and kids. They decide to make a 'family friendlier' sequel and it always bombs.
They do this with almost every franchise and just never learn
The 'Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' animated movie that's out now is pretty fun imo.
But yeah, nothing beats the original movie.
Probably won’t. The 1990s was a magical decade.

Facts
If/When you think about it, development per se or not, Donatello had his moments in Part 2 and Michelangelo had his in Part 3.
@@Sal_Sal27 Definitely, but we don't really speak of that third movie
It also likely comes from executives. Mikey is consistently the kid-appeal character, and adding too much depth and character development makes it harder to justify him being the super goof that kiddies love.
Some Random Guy Exactly. Somebody’s gotta be the mascot that represents on the anti-drug, after school special with Slimer.
Leo's deleted ninja moves was cool.ive never saw it before.
how am I JUST NOW Finding this AMAZING TMNT Channel GREAT VIDEO DUDE!
Fr this man is teenage awesomeness
ditto... but a year after you found it.
A 30th-anniversary version would be great with some commentary.
Yes!!
Why are there soo many great scenes cut no one has ever seen release them this is 1 of my favorite movies lol
For some strange reason movies always have deleted scenes that should never have been deleted. This and Terminator are among them lol
IKR!! Why in hell do I have to look for a German Amazon.com to get the Blu-ray?!🤨👨🏾💻🙎🏾♂️📼
Salvadore Stern They should have an extended edition with all the deleted scenes for this movie. That would be amazing.
Man, I just love the amount of research that you do for these videos.
It was just yesterday that my coworker and I was talking about how this version of the Turtles was better than the one made in 2014.
I didn't know that was even a discussion
The Michelangelo farm scenes is the biggest loss and shame to the film. I think those are essential to the film and his character arc.
I want them to show the movie(s) in theaters again, like how they have done with other movies that has been out for years. A special dvd with all the extra stuff would be radical.
Film festival!!!
That would be nice. I saw Batman 89 in the theater for 30th anniversary this year and The Matrix for 20th Anniversary since it came out in 99.
Bosa Nova!
Maybe, the most underrated film of all time
Tmnt is one of the best comic movies ever made.
AF Twice Mikey went hard in the original comic during their time at the farm. The mirage years were the best in my opinion.
Also it was Mikey nunchuck that defeated the shredder via splinter.
No matter how Michelangelo is portrayed (especially in the 2012 TMNT cartoon series), he will always be my favorite Ninja Turtle character. :D
Hey we're the same age

@@Ronniholt25 I thought you said you were 33

@@crystalchampion9617 George Earl Franklin said he's 33. I'm only 32.
Instead of the TMNT reboot, can we the extended cut of this movie instead
@ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime idc who it is. Well that's a lie, I do care lol, but yes someone with some good talent.
@ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime no I'm saying I'm lying on not caring who gets the rights. I do care, bcus Bay messed them up and Nickelodeon. So yeah someone like them, yes bcus they would know what to do with them.
@@midwestkrazy83turner50 the first transformers movie was good. The other ones suck
A special edition with loads of extras and deleted scenes, possibly an uncut version, would be something up Shout Factory's alley.
Man, I never noticed that was Mikey on the roof of the barn until just now. Crazy.
I suppose they didn't want kids to see the happy Turtle all angry.
me too. i just spotted his nunchucks
Right? It blows me away having seen this movie more times than I could possibly count
TMNT needs a Directors Cut with all of the cut footage if it is available
That Scene With Mikey Is Pissed And Angry In The Barn Should’ve Never Been Cut Out He Is Angry And Take Out Is Fustration By Destroying Things
5:28 - It says "Now who's the champ, pal?"
Just weird you said something different.
34 YRS LATER, STILL THE BEST FILM!!!!!!
I feel we deserve that longer version.
I’d love to see the extended version. I love the Turtles
I can’t believe I found this page this and T2 are my favorite movies of all time and this Shredder is by far my favorite villain EVER!
Sovereign Renaissance that was Ralph screaming
That sounds more like Raphael on top of the barn.
I remember the Shredder fight demonstration in the novel. It’s supposed to show how the Foot soldier earns that bandana that we see them getting from Shredder in the movie.
In the deleted scene tatsu puts the foot mask on shredders shoulder and they are supposed to grab it within the fight to earn a spot
Also the kid who earned the bandanna was the same kid that Tatsu beats the crap out of later. In the junior novelization it says he's dead.
There should be a Kickstarter or an Indiegogo campaign to have an extended cut collector's edition made. Next year it will be the film's 30th anniversary, it's about time it deserves the deluxe treatment.
Those things aren't needed.
Shell yeah I want that extra contened on a DVD of the movie
Wolf Shadow shell yeah! I’d wear that shirt
Videos like this are why im Subscribed to the Old Turtle Den 🐢
The 90s film series version of Michelangelo is my favorite. Every other version has him too comical, not showing he has depth, but this version shows it.
I'm with you 100 percent
Casey Jones alley
fight makes a lot more sense of him helping Raph out at Aprils. I hope they put a release out with all the xtra crap in it.
That original Turtle poster with all 4 popping their heads out of the sewer lid is one of the greatest movie posters ever created!
It has bugged me for years, why we never saw a Michelangelo sketch. I always figured it was cut...
I had that poster back when I was a kid,man the nostalgia
Brooks Williams me too. 👍 Ah, the good days. 😁
I love your comment! Agreed 100
Also to link what you said about Mikey training and his mindset at the time... You notice during the fight against shredder that while it annoyingly doesn't show Mikey fight you can HEAR that he's giving shredder a good fight
5:14 OMG!!! I had that Sticker Book, dude! My Mom bought it for me when the movie came out.
Me too!!!
I still have the sticker book amongst my most prized possessions.
I remember sky movies showed the uncut edition with the chucks, I was freaking out as a kid.
The credits have Corey Feldman playing one of those guys.
The classic TMNT movie with extra scenes!? Yes please!!!
It's time for a fan to cut this all together if we don't get it officially next year.
Really love the explanation with Michaelangelo, that makes things super interesting. Wish it could've been in the making
The Michelangelo part makes sense because that was how it was in the original Mirage comics story.
yes, since he was always joking and taking training less serious, once he lost splinter would over compensate
I really like these extra scenes, especially the alley scene and the Mike training with sketches scene. Wish they would have made it into the film.
a 30th Anniversary **Extended Cut*** with All the Missing scenes Restore in there Right Places would Be GREAT*

Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!! Shut up and take my money!!!
This is what I would love to see in the new movie! Look how realistic the turtles look 👀
If she'd seen the original cut or just remembered what they'd filmed, she would be disappointed at that not being released.
You're my favorite Turtle channel. Vids like these make me want to scream, *COWABUNGA!!!*
Lol far as I’m concerned it’s the only turtle channel 👍
What's funny is how instantly people like me who grew up with this would recognize any second of new footage. I saw this in theaters when I was 7.
Mind blown! How come Germany gets the ultra special edition Blu-ray?? That's just not fair 😑 Nice vid bro 👍
Apparently it's down to physical media being really popular in Germany, so there's a market for this. There's been a few films given extra treatment by German distributors (who are prepared to spend money on extra stuff, such as getting Steve Barron in to record a commentary). Also the Turtles have a significant following there.
@@davidjames579 guess I'm goin to Germany to do some movie shopping lol
It gives us more depth of Michelangelo. But he does give us the meaning of deception. I would love to see them do it like Terminator 2 Judgement Day, on how the worked the deleted scenes into the movie. An Uncut Version. It just gives it more depth.
We need a new movie the right way, the comic book way
And the turtles not being animated but suits and animatronics again.
Yeeeessssssss!!!
I never noticed the nunchucks when the turtle that I thought was Raph yells on the top of the barn. Nice.
Sorry I knew all this don't need you to tell me what's what when it come's to TMNT!!!
Good times!
I remember the turtle shells popping up in the initial trailer!
There's a novelization that includes a lot of the deleted scenes
An underrated classic. This stuff you dug up is great
This movie was awesome, & now I know why I liked it so much as a young kid when it came out. On my list as one of the best movies of the 90's ever.
glad i grew up to movies like this. i miss the 90s.
Omfg, how cool would it be to get a theatrical re-release of the uncut remastered version of this movie?! I WANT IT!!!
