yes, there's a difference but you still shouldn't vibe with anyone who identifies as being on the left. I'm 58 years old and never voted because each side is just as bad as the other. But I noticed a big change the day Trump announced he was running as a republican. People that loved and respected him completely turned their back on him. He was never considered a racist until that day. In fact Oprah loved him and even had special events (funeral) at his place. The why they attacked him for his whole 4 years and kept right on going even after he was out. Just because he could still run again. I'd bet everything I have, if he couldn't run again than all these cases against him would disappear. I just don't see anything good or honest about the democratic party any more.

Im 42 in nw Missouri. We were tought that stuff in school. We even had all kinds of classes from general home maintenance, woods, home economics, photography. My kids all are just out of highschool and they had no options like that. School now is a joke.

Our High school had a class called Intensive Office Education, in the Jr. Class we learned the basics, office machines, typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, etc. In the Sr year we learned how to run a business. We each took turns in different positions of a business, and changed once a month. Also learned marketing. In Gen Math we learned about the stock market and taxes. MY kids did not have that opportunity...None of that is available now. You are so right about classes about life necessities.

I’ll trust our politicians again when there are term limits for ALL positions. A politician should not be a career choice, you serve your duty and go back to your career after you serve your term. And there needs to be a better system in place to ensure no one is buying them out or “gifting” them incentives to vote certain ways. There also should be better checks and balances and more transparency in our voting system…. And that’s just the start of the overhaul this country needs. It's sad to think when I was 18 gas was like.70 a gallon houses were 20k ish and average yearly income was 10-15k yearly. I just shot my coffee out my nose when you said "uh oh a liberal admitted they were wrong" 🤣🥰 For me the school thing also goes to 'do what we say, not how to think... so many rules about how to dress, how to behave, how to follow the rules - more than thinking about what's right or wrong for themselves' my kids are in the public school district, but we have lots of conversations about watching/listening to multiple ideas and finding their truth/where the news comes together is probably where the truth lies. To THINK about what they're hearing, not taking everything for fact.
Schools use to teach life skills, managing a home, cooking, sowing, even wood shop, auto mechanics and more. That was in the 80’s not sure when they removed much of that.

I mentioned in the facts video that controversy sells. And he's good at that. It's not my style, but it's his for sure and though I don't agree with it at all, at the same time, he has a right to do it just like I have a right to say what I want to say. At the end of the day, at least for me, I'm trying my best to love God and love people. And I've seen way too much hatred on both sides against each other, so I'm doing my best to love those on my side and those who are on the opposite side as well. Because at the end of the day, if we won't love, then we will always be at war with each other, and the best way to lose an enemy is to make that enemy a friend. It's a lot easier to win a friend than an enemy. And it's a lot easier to have conversations with a friend than an enemy. And Jesus told me in my Bible that I'm to love my enemies. I love this so much! I like a lot of Toms songs but I feel if you someone keeps only living within their ‘bubble’ then there is no conversation to be had. I have beliefs that fall on both sides of “political ideation” but because I know at the end of the day not just the government but all those with money and/or in power don’t actually give a shit I refuse to align with either. We have strength in numbers but in the end only open dialogue and focus on what makes us feel like we aren’t alone in our struggles. We have to stop believing anything simply because you agree more with one side or the other. None of us are perfect but I promise you when a group of elite come together the last thing they care about is race. This is something peddled simply so we don’t see the us and them is financial and nothing else ❤

Tom has a huge library of videos but the album songs that don’t have a video is even bigger! So many amazing songs, just for the fans that buy the physical albums. He also has some playlists with just older music he released that he doesn’t feel represents him anymore but so many of those songs are fire, if you ignore the drug lyrics. My fav is Free Drugs. It’s so damn catchy!
The thing to remember about the concept of systemic racism is that the system is an inanimate object as much as you would not blame the vehicle for the drunk driver you cannot blame the gun for the idiot squeezing the trigger you cannot blame the system for being racist only those in charge of the system. Recent HOG here. Conservative leaning. Not republican anymore, and definitely not a democrat. I vote with my heart, and after much research on both sides. Lately, it is just down to which is the less wrong. Sad. Good reaction.

I'm 58 years old and never voted because each side is just as bad as the other. But I noticed a big change the day Trump announced he was running as a republican. People that loved and respected him completely turned their back on him. He was never considered a racist until that day. In fact Oprah loved him and even had special events (funeral) at his place. The why they attacked him for his whole 4 years and kept right on going even after he was out. Just because he could still run again. I'd bet everything I have, if he couldn't run again than all these cases against him would disappear. I just don't see anything good or honest about the democratic party any more.

Im 42 in nw Missouri. We were tought that stuff in school. We even had all kinds of classes from general home maintenance, woods, home economics, photography. My kids all are just out of highschool and they had no options like that. School now is a joke.
I think all politicians go into it with good intentions. But I believe once they get there the lobbyists get their claws into them and they forget why they go into politics in the first place.

Our High school had a class called Intensive Office Education, in the Jr. Class we learned the basics, office machines, typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, etc. In the Sr year we learned how to run a business. We each took turns in different positions of a business, and changed once a month. Also learned marketing. In Gen Math we learned about the stock market and taxes. MY kids did not have that opportunity...None of that is available now. You are so right about classes about life necessities.

I’ll trust our politicians again when there are term limits for ALL positions. A politician should not be a career choice, you serve your duty and go back to your career after you serve your term. And there needs to be a better system in place to ensure no one is buying them out or “gifting” them incentives to vote certain ways. There also should be better checks and balances and more transparency in our voting system…. And that’s just the start of the overhaul this country needs. I don’t see how all sides can’t agree with this front . And the government knows that’s why they keep us fighting with each other
I consider myself fortunate to have had teachers who focused more on teaching us how to think and figure things out for ourselves, than on teaching us how to pass "standardized" tests.

I'm more right leaning than Tom so I don't always agree with his take on things but I'm HOG4Life. One thing I absolutely agree with him on is there is only 1 party, the uniparty, that runs things. It's sad to think when I was 18 gas was like.70 a gallon houses were 20k ish and average yearly income was 10-15k yearly. Now homes start at a quarter mil, 12 times that of the late 70s but the income is what 50ish only 3 times that of the same era.

Some great insights and comments, I appreciated your humility and vulnerability with deciding against commenting on a topic that you felt you weren't 100% sure of yet - MUCH respect! The inclusion of a super-relevant scripture from Romans - was also awesome to see. To your point at the end - I believe *most* politicians initially get into politics to make changes that they see as positive. It is only a *few* who are able to preserve their integrity when the big dollar donors come knocking for favors - and those that do, oftentimes lose the financial support to campaign to maintain their spot. To THINK about what they're hearing, not taking everything for fact.

Schools use to teach life skills, managing a home, cooking, sowing, even wood shop, auto mechanics and more. That was in the 80’s not sure when they removed much of that.

The thing is we are not a democracy we are a Consititional Republic. There is a big difference. I am 61 years old and in all my life pronouns have never been a thing, until 5 or 6 years ago. It's feeding a into something that is not real inho.

I'm an independent liberal constitutionalist, if that makes sense to anyone, I don't care for neo liberals and the cookie cutter liberals portrayed on the news, either side of social media paints a completely negative picture for any group their jaded biased spotlight falls on. You on the other hand are a liberal I can vibe with, I am a hard core Tom fan, do I agree with every single things he does....of course not, through dialog we gain understanding and knowledge. Granted this endeavour will cause a vast majority in the country to become very uncomfortable to step out of their bubble, When you are uncomfortable is when you grow and gain knowledge because you're expanding your bubble. This is good for all humans to do. This leads to discussion, through this we can collaborate with one another, then we can solve everything if we just unite against the ignorance they are trying to manipulate us towards. like for me I am still learning things yes for a bit I was stuck in a box but in 2020 started to get out more independent groups in like to earn more. I feel most people are middle or just regular citizen.

you nailed it with this comment, both sides find the worst talking points, and blasts them all over the web, and acts like that is a good representation of the left or the right, Republicans or liberals. and unfortunately Tom is a huge contributor to that, just go watch his short videos, and see him mocking and making fun of people who are tans gender, they aren't the ones Tom should be mocking. instead Tom should be looking at health care professionals, scientists, and biologists, who actually study these things. they are human beings too, just like everyone else, we all have issues, it's just That there actually vocal about thee issues. also remember how inclusive he was in buttholes ? well think about that and watch his short videos.

I mentioned in the facts video that controversy sells. And he's good at that. It's not my style, but it's his for sure and though I don't agree with it at all, at the same time, he has a right to do it just like I have a right to say what I want to say.
At the end of the day, at least for me, I'm trying my best to love God and love people. And I've seen way too much hatred on both sides against each other, so I'm doing my best to love those on my side and those who are on the opposite side as well. Because at the end of the day, if we won't love, then we will always be at war with each other, and the best way to lose an enemy is to make that enemy a friend.
It's a lot easier to win a friend than an enemy. And it's a lot easier to have conversations with a friend than an enemy. And Jesus told me in my Bible that I'm to love my enemies. Jesus said, "What benefit is it to love those who love you? The world does that. Jesus told me to bless those who hurt me. Jesus told me not to curse those who curse me.
And as I've started doing that, I've noticed that people's walls have come down, and I've been able to have some really healthy conversations with people on the opposite side of my political views. That's created empathy and even some understanding that may not have been there before.
Jesus told me to love and I really believe that love wins every time.

I love this so much! I like a lot of Toms songs but I feel if you someone keeps only living within their ‘bubble’ then there is no conversation to be had. I have beliefs that fall on both sides of “political ideation” but because I know at the end of the day not just the government but all those with money and/or in power don’t actually give a shit I refuse to align with either. We have strength in numbers but in the end only open dialogue and focus on what makes us feel like we aren’t alone in our struggles. We have to stop believing anything simply because you agree more with one side or the other. None of us are perfect but I promise you when a group of elite come together the last thing they care about is race. This is something peddled simply so we don’t see the us and them is financial and nothing else ❤

Tom has a huge library of videos but the album songs that don’t have a video is even bigger! So many amazing songs, just for the fans that buy the physical albums. He also has some playlists with just older music he released that he doesn’t feel represents him anymore but so many of those songs are fire, if you ignore the drug lyrics. My fav is Free Drugs. It’s so damn catchy!

The thing to remember about the concept of systemic racism is that the system is an inanimate object as much as you would not blame the vehicle for the drunk driver you cannot blame the gun for the idiot squeezing the trigger you cannot blame the system for being racist only those in charge of the system. For example all of the 30 to 50 year career politicians who've been running the system the whole time.

I've been trying to understand for years and asked myself why the leaders can't solve our problems. Then it finally hit me roughly ten years ago they are the problem. They want division. Think about it, Amie. You, left-leaning, and I, right-leaning, would get along just fine if we met in person. I work in Massachusetts and can not have a conversation for more than two minutes before emotions from coworkers boil over into insults, and they storm off. They should listen to artists like Tom (I've tried) and realize the government is playing us. Let's focus on what we have in common and bring this country together before it's too late.
