I just received my brand new Kala SCAC-T tenor uke today! It is so beautiful and plays so much well. It replaces my LTP soprano. I’ve enjoyed your videos and look forward to many happy hours of music!
Thanks for your videos, am working my way through them! How often do I need to change the strings on my Kala Tenor. I have had it for a few years, am a beginner.
@@AllForUke it certainly doesn't feel like a chore and it has an obvious purpose. When I practice something that feels a little dull, I try to view it as something that helps me turn off, basically meditating. Best wishes to you!
I've learned a lot watching the Disney's special Get Back - the new horizons Billy Preston opened to the Beatles, lots of experiments, revivals, ideas, practice - and, of course, the rooftop concert!
You always have good tips. I downloaded your Practice Journal, and made 20 copies and made a goal of 5 months. I use one journal a week since each journal covers Mon -Sun.of My focus and intention for the week. . It's a great way to track my progress and work on things that are difficult. It really has been helpful. I'm discovering the more I learn, the more there is yet to learn!!!!
Thank you Kevin. I just finished your first kick start series (took me about a month and half cuz I kept going back and doing the lessons).. the day 9 and 10 episode I still can’t do at your pace and find a little intimidating, to be honest!.. I find switching strings a little difficult and can’t do it so quickly… I do try and focus on which string I have to move onto next, like you mentioned in one of the episodes… I want to be able to play a song, at least a simple one.. any suggestions please what can I do to get better ..? Other than practising everyday.. also sometimes I find myself struggling with dead notes .. trying to keep the fingers close to the frets and keeping my nails trimmed too 😅
Could someone please help me.. I just bought a new baritone to save me knocking my expensive one... Used my tuner as always DGBE and the G burst way before reaching the key.. So purchased more. AND Found I have to set the tuner to 'c' Did that and the G (3rd string) Is really loose and deep... Why is this and if I were to tighten in I know its gonna whip out an eye or worse!!
Hi Georgia - I'm curious if you were tuning one octave higher than where you were supposed to be. I would set the tuner to "chromatic" and start with fairly loose strings as a starting point for tuning. Give yourself plenty of rotations on the tuning heads as well. I have a video on tuning the ukulele if you'd like to check it out on my site. What brand of strings were you using? - Kevin | allforuke.com
In-con-se-quen-tial: not important or significant. This is the word you were going for, correct? ? I respect your opinion, however I do feel that this information is of some consequence for those who are looking to improve their practice routine. That's just my opinion though.

I have learned a lot in just a short time from you...keep up the good work!
Awesome, thank you! There's more to learn and play on my site if you have a chance to check it out. Thanks for learning with me! - Kevin

Good tips. One thing that makes me want to practice is learning songs that I love and that challenge me.
Love that! I agree. It doesn't really feel like 'practice' then does it? I think that's the key. All the best - Kevin | allforuke.com

Good question, I have a few accessible for travel but most are in storage. How about you?

@@AllForUke I was sure I answered this and can't see it. Nope defo not.. The G below the string will fall off!! hahhaaa
Put a uke in the Toilet.. and a chord chart on the back of the door.
Blah blah blah too much incoseqetial talk, Kevin.

Why would you say such a thing? If it's not relevant or useful to you just move on. Or perhaps it's all about you all the time?
