    Hello! Welcome to the next full build on my channel. Some time ago I grabbed Porsche 911 G-Modell 3.2 made by Revell. I guess that Porsche 911 wording seems to be obvious but the rest of the title might be difficult to decipher... so... what does G-Modell 3.2 exactly mean? Porsche internally assigned a letter to each model year starting from 1968 which was “A”, then 1969 which was “B” so 1974 stands for “G” . What is also interesting that the cars until MY1989 were all called G-models to distinct them from the first generation 911s, which are sometimes referred to as F-models. As for 3.2 , 3.2 Engine was introduced in 1984 so it means that this particular kit represents Porsche 911 from years 1984 till 1989. All parts had quite nice quality but not the body which was heavily bent, As I wasn’t sure whether I would be able to fix it with a nice result I decided to reach out Revell by filling up the form on their service page. After 2 weeks I got a new body and I was ready to start my next project. So Enjoy the video, don’t forget to subscribe, leave a like or a comment! Thanks! Cheeers!
    Recording just for entertaining purposes, there might be as many ideas for doing it as number of all diecast in whole world :D

    Amazing skills. Your approach to "Panel lining" is excellent. What are you using ?

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your kind feedback! In the initial stages, I ensure the lines have sufficient depth. If they are not deep enough, I use a scriber to deepen them. The subsequent steps are standard: painting the bodywork, applying a clear coat, and polishing it. Panel lining is the final step, done after everything else is complete. I use Tamiya Black Accent Panel Line for this. Once it dries, I gently wipe it with a hard cotton bud. Occasionally, I use X20, a dedicated thinner, to remove excess, but most of the time, I wipe it before it completely dries :)

    Great job. I mean really good!
    I got this exact same model. It's basically my 1st ever build. I really struggle with the painting of the body. Can't get it right with the revell colors.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Miki! That's true, it is quite difficult to find the right match for zinc or pewter metallic. After spending some hours on searching I decided to go for XF-56, it's not perfect but along with its brown interior I can feel this 80's Porsche feeling by looking at it 😃

    Sehr gute Arbeit💪
    Welches Maskingtape benutzt du bei 6:48? Ich habe beim letzten Modell mit einem ähnlichen Tape mir zum Teil wieder den Lack von der Karosserie gezogen...

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danke vielmals!💪 Es ist mein dritte Modell und ich muss noch viel learnen :) Deutsch auch :D
      Es ist TAMIYA 87177 Masking Tape 2mm für Rundungen. In solchen Fällen hat mir ein Freund geraten, das Maskingtape auf die Hand oder eine Matte und dann auf Modell zu kleben. Obwohl ich es nicht so gemacht habe, ging die Farbe nicht ab. Kann mann jedoch fühlen, dass das Abdeckband fest hält. Es tut mir leid, dass dir das passiert ist...

    Hey I just got the body and wondering if you could tell me every part number and what colour to colour them

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! congrats! that's a really nice kit hope yours is not crooked! Basically I followed instruction and painted each part accordingly to the steps 😀 I didn't use revell paints as I don't have any of them so I used some sort of matching to tamiya ones. This matching is in description for B 302 I used X-18 or for A,K 99 I used XF-56 for instance 😀 if you missing instruction fot this kit visit downloads.revell.de/?dir=Manuals-Modelkits and type 07688 (mine is no chrome version) hope it helped! enjoy your new project! 😀

    I am new to model cars, but is it really needed to paint everything in detail like this?

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess it is up to you how much detail you would like to add to the model kit so if you are comfortable with less its fine for sure! 😀 There are builds which include weathering as well what makes the kit even more realistic!

    Haha , you had me running to my newly purchased 911 G to see if it was crooked or not.
    Truth be told I would not have reached out to Revell, I mean I could have glued it in place straight not?

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I decided to reach out Revell as I wasn't sure whether I would be able to fix it 😀 I didn't want to make things worse once I would fail😁 fun fact, so far I have glued 3 revell car kits and only one kit was fine and had all the parts needed to build it! Porsche 918 was missing fuel caps, G-modell was crooked but white 911 rsr was fine 😀 maybe it's just a luck 😀 glad that your kit is ok!
