HeatingGeek hi here I am again from Belgium and to answer your question,I don’t think that the boilers are much different and technicians aren’t better qualified than in Britain. The big players like electric power suppliers are moving into the field off maintenance do and the technicians are not given enough time in my view to give the boilers a Turow cleanup ,just a first and last gasmejorment ,opening up the boiler and a brief inspection ,then fixing new seals.a 45 minutes job I ges ,when I did a cleanup/ inspection,it takes me at least 90 minutes ,if all goes good. They are cheap do ,so too be profitable they have to doo more jobs than me on one day. I mix it with cleaning chimneys,wat is very profitable if you do it at the time you are there for the boiler .it fills up the gaps and gives an additional income. Keep up the good work, Michel . Respect.
Bye the way,I charge about 200,00€ for an inspection and cleaning ,is it the same in Britain? Don’t forget,whe have the biggest taxes around here,about 45% is going to the state.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that when I remove something from a boiler, a gush of water appears flooding the customers property and by the time I get a bucket underneath it the water stops!

Yes ,knowledge like this can not be payed enough, a online help desk for problem solving is a good idea, only gas save engineers from all over Europe calling heating geek and hem from his office at home helping them, and after the problem solved,money time for the h geek .i am a fan.
ia all the black sound proofing missing? if so is that becasue of a leaking heat exchanger? if so i would have fitted a new boiler.would have been cheaper nearly just to replace with another neta-tec
Well done mate never seen these taken apart before you made it look easy, I've just came out of a 6 year contract with British Gas great money to be made but they are cutting costs everywhere and the jumping through hoop's became unbearable , I'm contracting for a few others now Corgi included and making decent money

@@joneth781 I was earning 70k a year with British gas bot covering 3 shifts sometimes so plenty incentives I have 20 years experience it helps, making good money with other contracts but have to put in the hours and miles !

Best advice I can give you with 30 + years of Self employment behind me ..do your own thing..yes tough to stay motivated, yes tough to find the work, yes tough on guys / girls that Never been self employed. But once after about 5-7 years of doing it your set. Especially if you have a good work ethics ..Reliable, honest and a get stuff done attitude. You will wonder why you ever were employed ! How west are you? I always have been self employed (last 16 years) Got really lazy and went contracting for an easy life. Now I have lost most of my old customers and don't really want to work in the old areas I used too. It will be fine im sure!!
Done a few of the divertor cartridges on them now for leaking thru pin. Looks like just two pins but not. Need to take out pressure gauge connection then what it goes into which has a banana type filter in it. Just to get pin out that holds divertor cartridge in. Talk about making easy job awkward 😅😅
i wanna see one where leaks have seized all nut , where all o rings are impossible to pull out due to drying out bits of plastic are crumbling away from heat damage where a customer is standing over you breathing down ur neck .that would be a good watch .im pretty sure you will be ok on the work front though
If I can find one I will film it. Unfortunately the customers don't usually let you film when they stand over you.(they are usually mad when they do that) :-)
Blimey. That's a major operation, looks like a big job. Just out of interest was it not possible to replace the leaking part instead of replacing the whole lot, also was it a possibility that you could have used the old plate heat ex, prv etc.

Yep. Big problems for insurance customers too. Book asks for a shock arrestor on the cold mains. Insurance companies are going to void the cover when these go..
You are experienced, qualified, you have the knowledge, tool, ect. Sorry to hear about this contract loss. Have you considered to set up on your own? I am sure you will be getting a lot more work and will be making a lot more money. Nothing better than work for yourself.

The home "adjusted " spanners, why don't you grind them down to make them thinner/lighter, makes it easier to get in there...? grind the curves off where it fits the nuts...? Sorry to here about your work loss....wouldn't worry too much, you'll bounce back...

Leaking manifold! Why do they use re-gramed plastic for water that heats and cools. Also the domestic water side that has chlorine in it that turns the plastic to dust in just a few years. At least Baxi has seen the light and reverted to brass in the main components. Worcester is the worst, I always ask the customer which side it is leaking from then I can ensure I've the right crappy bit of plastic on the van.

wow i hope you were earning good money for some of shit work that got passed on to you , you are good at your job mate i been doing this work for 15 years and there aint many like you out there , starting that job 3pm holy shit you are brave i wouldnt start a service on an open flued boiler at that time of day haha , re the 10 day blue roll so true some the boilers i open up with blue roll absorbing leaks is frightning , also guessing this was contract work as private work like that these days is just not worth it new boiler is better option price for part and labour and still left with in my opinion a shitty model with lots of problems to come
It was an insurance job. Unfortunately I wont get the interesting work I used too. This was actually quite easy. Even privately this wouldn't cost more than 450. Not too bad. Thanks for watching. :-) Ps it always good to know you work with blue roll bodgers.
@@HeatingGeek just how much did that whole hydraulic bloc cost ???? What a piece of crap that boiler is. I had to change a PCB and electrodes set in a Megaflow 28 GA system boiler earlier this week and they were horrifically expensive!!

Get your industrial / catering appliance tickets wont get you a load of work but opens up alot more opportunities. Or try knocking on housing association doors and asking who has gas contract then in turn ask them if they need any subbies. When they ask for your CV just send a link to your you tube channel (nothing else) What you are up against Down side Too many installing new ones 7/10year manufacturers warranty Parts are f***ing expensive Manufacturers will do out of warranty for £260 and change 3 parts 😡 Plus side there is money in repairs if you are willing to strip parts down and repair the parts. Replacing fan and pump bearings, rewinding motors.
HeatingGeek catering and industrial is not about installing. Catering is safety checks and thermocouples not to forget free food. Industrial is 90% repairs and annual servicing, if you have a heater that is 10m up in the air of a half a ton cast iron boiler you dont want to be replacing them every 5 years. Generally they also have more than one appliance for you to look after Spares are also available direct
HeatingGeek you dont need experience on commercial watching your videos .you need to jump in both feet first. Go knocking on large manufacturers doors, distribution warehouses/ glassworks/wood work manufacturing any company that turns over £100mil+

This was an insurance job. The customer pays £10-£20 a month. So no. Not cheaper at all.

British Gas are nice to work for because you can leave early if needed etc. This job was easy but the part price is a joke.

These are gonna be a problem in later years in the new builds. Those manifold aren’t cheap. And they are gonna leak in the future

I have said for years that I will grind them thinner and remove the excess. But.... never done it. Too many other things to do!!!

Get your industrial / catering appliance tickets wont get you a load of work but opens up alot more opportunities.
Or try knocking on housing association doors and asking who has gas contract then in turn ask them if they need any subbies. When they ask for your CV just send a link to your you tube channel (nothing else)

Plus side there is money in repairs if you are willing to strip parts down and repair the parts. Replacing fan and pump bearings, rewinding motors.
Im all about repair. Im keeping my options open (nothing paying enough). Hopefully it will not result in me getting a real job!!!
HeatingGeek catering and industrial is not about installing.
Catering is safety checks and thermocouples not to forget free food.
Industrial is 90% repairs and annual servicing, if you have a heater that is 10m up in the air of a half a ton cast iron boiler you dont want to be replacing them every 5 years. Generally they also have more than one appliance for you to look after

Go knocking on large manufacturers doors, distribution warehouses/ glassworks/wood work manufacturing any company that turns over £100mil+

@@TheDickPuller I was trying to get a shot at some Homeserve work (out of the contractors area I worked for). I thought I had the work sewn up......
Then Homeserve told the Main contractor I worked for and I lost both (Conflict of interest ). I will get the work somehow. :-)
