Who is Mythal? | An Introduction [no spoilers]

Who is Mythal, the elven goddess of justice and protection? What role does she play for the elves?

I feel like Mythal is a flip of a coin. She is either angry or fair. That is not a bad thing it is just the flow of emotions.

Oh, definitely - it makes her more interesting, not just a default placeholder for 'the mother goddess'

I've been playing through Dragon age origins again recently and just found "Mythal's Blessing" shield in game and it also says "The symbol of Mythal, god of vengence, is eerily vivid on the face of this shield." but the wiki says "god of protection" 😧
