And it depends on each person's timbre as well. Not to mention that a cover is not supposed to copy the original, I don't think the others try impersonating Celine.
The fact that half of the "original note" singers are FILIPINOS..🇵🇭🥰 This makes me proud as a Philippine citizen 🇵🇭 who loves to sing till our hearts content
You can clearly hear they are afraid to bend slowly to the f5, that gives power to the moment, Celine does that very slowly and that slow transition is what make it sow iconic
Well, she's a musical singer after almost 20 years of stage presence. Also played the role of elphaba for over 7 years, which is a very hard role. Belting at the edge of your voice 8 times a week for 7 years is probably hard for your vocal cords^^
The problem with most of these covers is that these beautiful songs become nothing but a race to get to the high notes. You can't really put your finger on it but for some reason they leave you cold. That's because these singers possess all of the dramatics yet the most important ingredient is missing and that is the intense emotion that the original artist had. Listen to Celine and you can hear the pain and struggle in her voice. Part of it is her actually struggling to sing the note because they raised the key when she came to studio that day but it makes it perfect because that's what the song is all about, especially that part lyrically and climax wise. The producer did this on purpose, of course, to bring that emotion out of the artist and Celine delivered. So, yes, while it is very impressive that you can sing that note in the original key, have perfect pitch and not strain because your breath support is flawless, you are missing the point. Since you have the technique down and you know it, how about you use it to make the right artistic choices and honour the integrity of the song? Leave your ego to your practice sessions and sing for the song or just don't touch it. Sorry, I don't mean to be salty. Most of these singers are very talented but it is a great pet peeve of mine when singers sing songs by Mariah, Whitney or Celine and they think that just by nailing the high notes they possess the magic that the vocal trinity had/have. See, none of the members of the trinity are concerned with the high notes, they are concerned with the songs themselves and the stories they tell, especially Mariah who writes her material.
I beg to disagree with your claim. The reason why celine ended up with a straining sound while is because it was done INTENTIONALLY, it was decided to make it sound straining to fully emphasis on the emotion that the singer (which is Celine) wants to tell us listeners. Try to fully understand the lyrics. It totally tells about longing, sadness, despair and desperation (Don't want to live all by myself anymore) Sustained f5 is already hard, how much more adding strain to it. Singers can practice till they perfect the f5 note, but none of them dared to include the straining sound,(because it's vocally tasking). Celine can actually do this in a very clean and Crystal clear way but then that will remove her own touch to it, which separates her from others who managed to attempt it.
If you don't agree with me, how about you listen to her other songs. Specifically THINK TWICE and WITH THIS TEARS. Both of which possess a straining sound at its climax. Think twice, if you try to understand the lyrics, tells us about a woman, wanting her lover to stop and think twice before leaving. To simply put it, it's a song about breaking up between two lovers, but with the woman still holding on, hence why the peak lyrics are BABYYYYYYY NO! NO! NO! NO! with straining sound to it. It gives us the feeling with the straining added to it, that the woman is extremely desperate and a bit of anguish and anger mixed into it. Same thing with her song WITH THIS TEARS, as the title suggest, is about a sorrowful song about longing to be touched. Now for their similarities With this tears All by myself Think twice Are songs that expresses Desperation, sorrow and pain! Without the straining touch to it, it wouldn't be as impactful as it is when you listen to it all the time
@@jhoneltumampocfashion2008 I'm sorry but technically speaking, how can singers intentionally strain their upper belts like that, especially when it's a sustained F5 belt? Not a hater, I'm just curious to know
@@mohaimenbheer9816 I also sing. Had some experience participating in singing contests before. I just want to say that Strain can sometimes be achieved just like how some singers can add flavors by adding vocal breaks. Celine mentioned in one of her interviews that she admires singers who smoke and get scratchy sound when they sing because she finds it great, she also said that when she gets sick and her voice has this straining sound to it, she loves to sing with it. Maybe that's the reason why we can hear her rock type song like "That's just a woman in me". She really utilized her strain here to sound rock. Celine is know to use her voice for different ways, she can mimic guitars, and other instruments too. Adding strain to her belts is no longer an issue for her. David also mentioned Celine sang the final note 7 times in the studio too.
There may be perfecter notes than Celine’s but Celine’s is perfectly imperfect. Please pay attention to how everyone else is so focused on hitting the note while Celine is emoting it. We all know she can hit a note with perfect clarity. I actually hate that F5 when that rasp Celine adds is missing.
this was excellent, no one does it like Celine but most of these were excellent renditions. i came from another one of these and with the compilation one was pitchy, another was flat. i only heard one here that seemed like it was a bit of a struggle but still the overall integrity of the voice remained.

The OG is just a WONDER and we are all lucky to have lived in the era of her vocal dominance and blessed to be graced by her talent... but YO! Pia and Perrie did that SEATED... I mean, dang. Well, they all do, since Celine can't actually hit it. When she sings it live she sings it 2 notes down to be able to hit it. And you are comparing a studio recording with autotune, to live performances.
@@lottarydlandkjelby8917 Autotune didn't even exist when Celine hit that note lololol. Imagine being such a good singer that haters think its autotune. Every legend wannabe should strive to be that good.
anyways, what I really mean here guys is just that you can easily determine it's Celine Dion singing when it's soft, an angelic voice and full of emotions not just hitting those notes higher but also hitting them right.. and in singing it isn't all about hitting those higher notes, it's all about giving your best and the emotion that you feel.
Celine: often imitated, never duplicated. No one meets or exceeds her execution of that note. And not a single one brings the emotion to their performance that she does. Her tone is unmatched as well. The others sound like long-tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs. 😱 In other words, who prefers faux leather when the original and the best is the genuine stuff?
Celine struggled SO much hitting it in the studio, and the reason you like hers better is because there is autotune on it. Celine never does it live because she can't do it. All of these women can hit it better than her, since she frankly can't do it. Live she always sings it 2 notes down. So don't diss on these amazing women when they do it better than Celine!
@@lottarydlandkjelby8917 If ever there was a singer who DOESN’T need autotune, it’s Celine, heifer. Which explains, in part, why she’s a living legend and none of these women are. To say the least. Very true! Using chest dominant mixed voice we can sound a little bit close to Celine’s version! But again, she’s unbeatable.
I tried to cover this wonderful song with all the high notes, it’s nowhere close to Celine or Charice but it would mean the world to me if you heard it!😆✨🎼
You mean chest dominant. There's no such thing as full chest F5. Still mixed.
@@michaliskossyfas5862 Yeah yeah, chest dominant. If someone could ever done a full chest F5 let me know ASAP. 🤣🤣🤣
And it depends on each person's timbre as well. Not to mention that a cover is not supposed to copy the original, I don't think the others try impersonating Celine.
@@alejandrotassone7826 most of them did a chest dominant mixed lol
🤯 literal chills. They're all goddamn amazing.
*perrie’s always gives me goosebumps though*
They still can't beat the way celine combined the growl and the perfect note
1:47 The drums made that 10x better.
Perrie 💕💕💕💕
The fact that half of the "original note" singers are FILIPINOS..🇵🇭🥰
This makes me proud as a Philippine citizen 🇵🇭 who loves to sing till our hearts content
Bcoz Filipino love to sing any occasion public to private house to live band
So much entertainment to watch these gifted singers reach this goal. Wished I had a singing voice!
You can clearly hear they are afraid to bend slowly to the f5, that gives power to the moment, Celine does that very slowly and that slow transition is what make it sow iconic
02:53 Not that I can even belt a note like that, but this was hard to listen to =(
i know, not devaluating her work at all, i can't even sing paris hilton songs in tune lmao. It just sounded a little nasal for me
Well, she's a musical singer after almost 20 years of stage presence.
Also played the role of elphaba for over 7 years, which is a very hard role.
Belting at the edge of your voice 8 times a week for 7 years is probably hard for your vocal cords^^
3:12 Jeninne didn’t even do the lead into it just jumped right up there. Props
Shes snapped. One of my favourites
they’re all so talented, i could never 😭
Perrie's sounds more nasal, which reminds me of a Celine's
Now for their similarities
With this tears
All by myself
Think twice
Are songs that expresses Desperation, sorrow and pain! Without the straining touch to it, it wouldn't be as impactful as it is when you listen to it all the time
True
Agreed. It becomes flat, cold, and harsh. The opposite of passionate.
Yeah🤨I noticed that raspy strain at the ending belt
U can feel the pain of the song in her voice
this was excellent, no one does it like Celine but most of these were excellent renditions. i came from another one of these and with the compilation one was pitchy, another was flat. i only heard one here that seemed like it was a bit of a struggle but still the overall integrity of the voice remained.
Agree!
I tried to cover this wonderful song with all the high notes, it’s nowhere close to Celine or Charice but it would mean the world to me if you heard it!😆✨🎼
the eb5 at the end is so pretty in my opinion its the best one
the first one gave me goosebumps!.
The Filipino queens and kings killin it! Lol
Celine Dion and Morissette are my HUGE FAVES!
SAME! their voices are just so powerful and impactful in my opinion.

Omg got emotional 😭 on some of them. Beautiful voices
I’m more impressed by the run after the sustained high note. Amazing
Pia toscano though! Sitting down, wow and Perry 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Only Céline can do the hardest vowel to sing this ANYMOOOOOOOOORE the rest are doing the safe vowel ANYMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Totally agree, I guess no one noticed that.
Celine is also the queen of close /e/ vowel ! 🔥
Well thats because she recirded it ina recording studio and has autotune. She can't do it live and has to sing 2 NOTES down, for her to make it. These other women sing it live, in the original key, something Celine frankly can't do
@@lottarydlandkjelby8917 even if they sang it on a studio. They still go to the safest vowel. ANYMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH only Céline can do the hardest vowel. David Foster did an amazing job picking Céline to sing this song. No one can ever do that high belted with raspy tone.

I'm a huge fan of Celine Dion but I must admit I've never seen her attempting this iconic note live. These girls on the other hand have done a great job.
Pretty sure she did a Vegas show, there and heaps of videos of her doing this live
She's done it several times during the Taking Chances World Tour and even on the tours after that
@@sougeshthondeeofficial2409 Not in the original key
then you are not such a good fan xd shes done that note live several times xd
@@javieracostabotello9973 Not in the original key. My 300 Celine Dion items collection says I'm her #1 fan.
I love that they almost all hit that little trill at the very end too.
Celine? GOAT. I'm all for the vocalists after her (cause they all slayed it) but the feeling you feel in your gut when you hear Celine "Dion the shit out of it" is just... there's just nothing like it. She grabs you in the chest and grips your soul so hard and doesn't let go and you're left wanting her to do it again. It's breathtaking. The OG is just a WONDER and we are all lucky to have lived in the era of her vocal dominance and blessed to be graced by her talent... but YO! Pia and Perrie did that SEATED... I mean, dang. And Jake really captures the essence of the emotion in the lyric and instrumentation backing him. The feeling from him was the closest to the original for me. But to each their own, of course.
They all did really well
Well done ladies👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Even though Dimash is not included here...I say he is legend
Pia,regine and charices is the closest one
Agree so much! They sound so powerful.

I agree especially Regine she seems similar with Celine. Maybe its the “ine” in their names ahah
Great video! The use of Jake Zyrus' name is well appreciated
I absolutely adored Charice Pempengco's (Jake Zyrus) voice. With so much power, control and talent, she was a breath of fresh air when she joined Glee.
Uhh, Amber Riley, Lea Michele, and Naya Rivera were all on Glee and delivered amazing performances basically every episode
Pretty awkward to deadname and misgender him this entire comment
@@RomonicaDiGregory His “fans” are transphobic as shit towards him. It’s simply terrible
@@SuperPianogirl123 They absolutely did. Definitely not knocking them. Adding Sunshine''s character though created a nice story arc that was far too short. Everyone on Glee was a powerhouse in their own way.
@@RomonicaDiGregory I'm not talking about Jake though as Jake's version wasn't included in the video (unless I'm not remembering it) When you look up Charice Pempengco on TH-cam(or Google) that is who pops up in the suggestions, not Jake. I think IMDB is the only site that automatically redirects to Jake.
Celine's version is the one and only, I can't explain why, but it's so comfortable and enjoyable.
Watching singers hit high notes
Me: just sitting down just awkwardly opening my mouth as if I'm actually singing
All are superior but Celine did it with so much passion and emotion which makes her the best of the best. No one hits the note like her like ever.
So few can get that high for so long while still sounding good. Impressive stuff some of these. Awesome!
Morissette rules like a Queen!!!! Well done! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Two of these are Dutch women and as a Dutch girl I think that is pretty awesome 🧡
Piaaaa sitting down and hitting this note!!!!!! With suiuuuch resonance and to me it was the best one!
They have their own original key and all of that are all amazing 🤩 ms regine velasquez ugh really did great
for me it's Pia, Jake, Katrina and Regine that did it..yes they've sung beautiful but ofcourse no one is sounded like Celine the legend and none of them surpass CELINE DION..no hate just stating the fact
@@lottarydlandkjelby8917 and anyways I'm not comparing them read it again carefully🥴
@@saifiqbal9913 I agree😊
anyways, what I really mean here guys is just that you can easily determine it's Celine Dion singing when it's soft, an angelic voice and full of emotions not just hitting those notes higher but also hitting them right.. and in singing it isn't all about hitting those higher notes, it's all about giving your best and the emotion that you feel.
@Devon Hawkins-Anderson Who?
@Devon Hawkins-Anderson Has she ever had a hit? Or sold any records?
Celine struggled SO much hitting it in the studio, and the reason you like hers better is because there is autotune on it. Celine never does it live because she can't do it. All of these women can hit it better than her, since she frankly can't do it. Live she always sings it 2 notes down. So don't diss on these amazing women when they do it better than Celine!
@@lottarydlandkjelby8917 If ever there was a singer who DOESN’T need autotune, it’s Celine, heifer. Which explains, in part, why she’s a living legend and none of these women are. To say the least. And if you actually believe any of them sing that note better than Celine, I just have one question: exactly how long have you been stone deaf?
Hey! But what makes you think they wanted to sound like Celine?) Do you tink this is the artist's meaning? To sound like other artist???)
i want to see mariah to cover this😭
So amazingly blessed and talented.
A few of these made me emotional jeez!
