Morgane stapleton does not get enough credit that woman can sing
so glad to see someone else thinking the exact way I am thinking. it really is still a man's world especially in the entertainment and show business world. her voice just sends his songs into another world altogether for us to enjoy more.
And she's a damn good songwriter too

The first time that I really heard Chris, I said, "Whos is the woman singing with him?" She has an absolutely perfect country voice. I would love to hear her do some solos. But her and Chis together, is definitely like Johnny and June.
She is amazing! I wish they had more duets that showed her more and/or let her have her few own songs! I saw something once where him and whoever sings Drink a Beer(I'm not a country fan mostly so I dont know the people) and I was like this A lister just made whatever list Chris is like a level or two higher.

Best thing that happen to music period!! All the garbage that's played pales in comparison to a solid sound that these two produce. No gimmicks, no autotone, just talented vocalists with a raw sound that's real! :)
h311purg3 music nowadays, yes, without a doubt. We finally have main-stream songs that matter again. Aside from a few here and there, there hasn't been many good ones this millennium.

As someone who has earned a living for the past 30+ years as a corporate road warrior, storming across the central part of the country from Texas to Minnesota in my company issue Taurus, this song just hits home………😢

That steel guitar of Robby Turner is spooky good. Absolutely makes this song. incredibly subtle precision both background and melody that compliments Chris and Morgan's singing. He has a great resume playing with Waylon and a bunch of others. Check him out. Robby is something special and David Letterman rightly acknowledged it.

Didn't ever know that was his lady singing back up on the hooks, but thought how wonderfully complimentary her voice & style was... man. More duets w/ her & let her loose, could be a star is born type moment. She can sing as well for damn sure.

Absolutely ! They both wrote music for years.... then they found their own, intimate voices... and then they found each other.
not a fan of country music as it is today, loved the old country sounds of Waylon, Willie, Johnny Cash etc, etc but this pop sound today by the females and the rip off of Southern Rock by the boy bands in country today, well I am a gentleman so I won't say it. Man is this Chris Stapleton a breath of fresh air or what ? This cat is a star likes of which we haven't seen in a while.

Yeah I used to hate country music too...but Chris led me to the steeldrivers. Steeldrivers led me to Tyler childers, to whiskey myers, to cody jinks...etc...etc...etc... Now country is my go to.
'Cause he is Soul and Gospel and Country all put forth with that Righteous voice, full of energy and pain, and rockin' across the miles and the years to reach us all.

I'm not a country fan so I'd never heard of the guy until I saw the video of him w/ Justin Timberlake on the CMAs. OMG, I'm so in love with his voice. We don't get to hear enough real music like this anymore.

Yes.... he is so much more than Country... he brings the spirit of where I grew up outside Detroit... he brings soul and Gospel and an Energy channeled from somewhere deep, deep into the Spirit of all of us.
I can't get enough of this guy's music. Funny thing is I'm a top 40 soul kind of guy. And I don't tend to watch music videos. I heard parachute on SNL or Campbell somewhere. And Chris Stapleton just got under my skin. I play him in the morning. Playing in the evening and watch his videos. I know nothing about who writes music or whatever. But his lyrics are very soulful and true to life. If he's riding them or whoever is it's certainly lived life. Especially one about the pissed off girlfriend or wife. Hawking his guns throwing his rods in the river putting sugar in the gasoline of his John deere.

Chris Stapleton is the answer to the question posted by George Jones in his song "Who's gonna fill their shoes?" I have the absolute privilege of being able to see him in person this coming July. I can't wait.
Let's hope that he's the beginning of a shift away from the nonsense on country radio and CMT. Thankfully, he has been embraced by both the CMA and the ACM, the two most important institutions in country music, and it was the CMA Awards in 2015 that gave him his big break. Overnight, his debut album went to #1 -- literally overnight. Previously, it had only sold a few thousand copies! But, you can be sure that Music Row in Nashville will continue to push pop/r&b as the "evolution" of country music. That's why we have Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt, as well as the 80's pop that Keith Urban has been doing for the past couples years. It's garbage, and we'll be laughing about it one day.

There's some supremely tasteful musicianship here, everyone absolutely 100% playing in the pocket for the song rather than trying to stand out. It's an extremely tasteful live mix too, just wonderful.

The pedal steel guitar is what made me fall in love with real country music. From Hank Williams to Randy Travis, it's been a staple of the genre, unfortunately neglected nowadays in the trend-chasing pop-country. But, I think it will come back around, not least because of the popularity of not only Chris Stapleton but also Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, and many others carrying the true country flame.

He's the #1 selling country artist for three years in a row, yet so-called "country" radio will hardly play him. That's what boggles my mind -- and, yes, his insane amount of talent too!

Its crazy because he's on a level nobody can touch (in my opinion). Have you listened to any Sturgill Simpson? He's another unknown artist who is super talented.
Yep, Sturgill is great too. He actually won the Grammy for best country album last year, yet he's never had a single on country radio. So, the Grammy's know country music better than so-called "country" radio. I would also highly recommend: Cody Jinks, Turnpike Troubadours, Whitey Morgan, and Whitney Rose. They are incredible live performers, and they represent, alongside Stapleton, the best of country music today.
