Man is a generational talent. I haven't seen too many people in music today who can touch Chris vocally. Definition of talent.
Chris is so lucky to have his wife sing Backup ,She provides the marriage in music . No one could do it better.

YES! I have always thought her voice was amazing! Beautiful, and an excellent complement to his voice. However, her voice could easily stand alone because it is also a powerhouse!

He told the story behind this song at a concert of his. He and his wife were going to get a Jeep that he bought after his fathers death. He wrote this song in about 15 minutes driving through the desert in Arizona with his wife in the passenger seat at sun up. What an amazing song writer and performer.

I agree and you can tell that they still are in love not just that they love each other but they are truly in love with each other and it shows. I have never been to a concert in my whole life and if I could go to see anyone it would be these two and it could be just acoustic and I will still love the music that they have healed me with. 😊

As a long standing hater of country music...I love Chris Stapleton. Suppose old dogs can learn new tricks. His wife's amazing vocals are an absolutely perfect compliment to Chris's generational voice.
y'all might not be aware but Stapleton was the songwriter and frontman for the bluegrass band 'the Steeldrivers' check out their 2008 Rounder Records album... Chris at his best!

I saw Chris at ACL last year and he stole the festival. What a voice man incredible.

I'm always so shocked how unbelievably good he sounds playing live. He sounds exactly how he does on record. There's only a handful of artists who are truly talented, while others are masked by the talent of studio producing.
He sounds way better than Mercury pumps out. Mercury does him a disservice...
Also, there are more than a handful of artists who are truly talented. His studio is shit. I've heard his studio stuff and it is meh...those same songs are absolute brilliance when performed live. You like the guy...that is awesome...no need to drag the entirety of music artists through the mud to get your point home.
Chris Stapleton simply transcends.

This song has a special place in my heart. I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it; especially after hearing that it was written after his dad died and while on the road from Phoenix to Nashville.(I lived in Phoenix for 3 years and I'm originally from Texas and have made the road trip MANY times)
