The most underrated aspect of Chris Stapleton's talent is definitely his timing. The man is like a clock.
There is a reaction video of a live performance of him doing What Are You Listening To and the reactor, who is a music producer, said he is a metronome.

Definitely my brotha. Just heard "I Was Wrong" and got hooked. Damn killer bluesy number. Im not into country so i aint really know about him besides "Tennessee Whiskey" which is incredible so i checked out "I Was Wrong" and absolutely loved it. Aint sound like country..just straight blues number. If im not mistaken though i believe blues is in the roots of Country music. U might be able to tell me if thats correct. Shit its the root of damn near all American music. Anyway im with u brotha. Definitely a blues man. That joy & pain runs deep in his voice and guitar pick. U definitely feel his tunes

The original of this is even more amazing--The Steeldrivers (the bluegrass band he was in earlier in his career). But this guy can sing anything.

My partner has a nice voice and plays guitar excellently. He always sings when he plays. I introduced him to Chris Stapleton and he won't even attempt to sing Chris songs. He just plays the guitar.

+Patrick Nordsvahn the only other one I know of right now that has the sound in stirgill Simpson. But not everyone of his songs but he does come close to the good ones.

Check out, Sturgill Simpson, Whitey Morgan, and Cody Jinks....there are several good ones out there but since they look like outlaws with tattoos and beards they don't get mainstream radio play.......Outlaw Country on Sirius satellite plays a ton of good country music

Sara Butler -- Chris Stapleton writes songs and shops them out to other artists. This is even noted in the beginning of the video when the other dude mentions that Chris Stapleton has a #1 song with Luke Bryant, and Chris himself mentions this very song, the one played in the video, is on Adele's album.

I'm african american and a friend of mine introduced me to the soulful sound of Chris Stapleton. I must say, I am a huge fan. It is amazing how music transcends all barriers. When I listen to his music all I hear is someone who sings with his whole heart and soul.
Although i Love Adele, this song is so much better with him singing it.

I really dont think people understand the significance that is Chris Stapleton. Guy is one of the backbones of country music. The things he writes weigh more than gold and hes has given countless artists a piece of it. What a presence, definitely have a man crush.

I get the chills everytime I hear ANY Chris Stapleton song. He has a perfect voice, top notch song writing skills, and can play the heck out of the guitar. Unlike MANY artists, he is even better live.

This guy actually brought tears to my eyes when I first heard his song ' What are you listening to ' with Chris Stapleton you can believe everything you hear and love everything you see. I have been to jail myself actually for a crime I did not commit, yeah I engaged in the wickedness by shouting but I never assaulted anyone. Anyway it was the love of my father he taught my younger brother 4 things and he taught me 3 things but when I finally found out the 4th thing and realised it was knowledge I didn't give a damn about even though yeah some talented guitar players show us their brilliance the fact is it made me a better guitar player. I am a struggling writer and musician who wrote the film and the music scores for one of my films The Return to Innocence. I hope one day you will all hear me play my own compositions especially the great Mr. Chris Stapleton. Thankyou and those of you who have faith please pray for me for the words DEVIL AND EVIL Spelled backwards are LIVED AND LIVE and Martin Luther king said we all sometimes can have a little bit of evil in us and I am struggling to get out of the devils grip. So many people say they haven't heard of this guy if you get a chance look up steeldrivers he was the lead vocal and guitar for that band for years
A friend of mine turned me onto the first Steeldriver album when it was first released, been addicted to Chris since then. You probably know.... but more and more clips showing up of him here on youtube...doing a variety of songs we can not find elsewhere.

Met Chris right around this time. He was driving himself from radio station to radio station promoting "What are you listening to". Good song but it tanked ...he did things his way and the rest is history. Like how Brandy Clark is fascinated by his mandolin chop on the guitar.
