Fantastic John! Was hoping u might do some feeder fishing, location couldn’t be better 4 me , 9 times out of 10 i fish that road stretch, which is always challenging, changing conditions & simply I love the early sunrise coming up right in your face !
Great video John, always informative and some great tips. For someone that doesn’t fish big powerful rivers like me it gives me the confidence to have ago. Keep up the good work. 🎣🎣🎣
I'll say one thing Jon, you are very good at explaining stuff in a simple manner, Great video mate, I learnt a hell of lot. The long winder trick is good. I don't get a chance to fish in the same way for roach and dace where I live. The river down the road from my house is full of carp and there are a couple of swims where you can set up a few meters from the bank, it's very different though what with the red hydro, 8 tins of corn, 3 pints of hemp and fish up to 15 pounds (not much finesse). The chopped worm line by the lillies will occasionally produce a couple of big Largemouth Bass and the odd clonker Perch but eventually the carp will bulldoze their way in and ruin it. There is something very satisfying about sitting out in the water and neither pole roller is actually on the bank, why is that? Thanks mate
Not fished burton joyce this year ....been fishing the river round burton on trent ...ie sherrats farm and down by the island near the road bridge and thats bern full of fish ie roach .perch and masses of dace .....its been really good yhis year .....
Once again, Jon and Matrix, fantastic video with pleasure fishing, not product fishing. And that's why I use Matrix.... Hang on a minute! Can I get paid for this completely unbiased and unsolicited comment!...
Another top video from Jon, could I ask Jon that when you put the balls of groundbait in using the cup do the balls spin up in the water and drift downstream slightly before they start to sink to the bottom and depending on the flow will it make a difference which way the cup faces when you pot in and also do you ever wet the odd couple of balls with wet hands to dampen the balls down so they breakdown later in the peg and keep the fish in the swim, also would this help if you dont ball more balls in over the top of feeding fish
It makes another video through, I'm with you, I'd take a couple of pints of reds, 13ft rod, closed face reel and a few stick floats and my flask all in a rucksack 👍
Great video. On a separate point though, if I was looking to start fishing or a young angler I’d find this off putting, the gear, the cost, accessibility, venue, method, complexity is daunting. Matrix and the key brands need to do more than just promote and preach to an ever decreasing angling community and show how anyone can start fishing easily at any age. Build the base for the future or sales will decline. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate this video serves another purpose but hopefully you take my point.
Most of us buy a simple package and then build on it over time it's never-ending, but it's something I enjoy & love getting a new bit of tackle to use . 🎣✨️
This is excellent Jon. Not just catching, but how you make it happen. Thank you.

All you need is a stick/waggler and a bucket of bronze...
