I am a piano tech and I absolutely hate doing work on these but I could shed some light on why it lacks a bit of “punch” in some parts of the song, it is very possible that you got air leakage either from disintegrating tubing or from the belows (accordions that pump air) in the pedal module specifically. Try to reseal as much as you can and it should at least sound more powerful in all the registers of the keyboard. Have fun.
I am a young teenager, just ended semester 1 of freshman year of high school. This absolutely made my day! I got hooked on your channel because of the "abandoned building exploration" stuff. I have been playing piano for more than half of my life so far, and I plan on playing until the day I die! I have a mechanical mind an absolutely love seeing anything audio, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and such. I hate seeing stuff like that rot away, and so seeing this prime example of pianola back in action after so many years abandoned brings me joy! I wish there was more people in the world worried about all the old stuff! I am so happy to say that I was already subscribed, yet this video would make me subscribe a hundred times over, especially considering I saw the video where you walked passed this thing and it broke my heart a little, and now I see that you saved it! Keep up the great work, simple videos, and, of course, THAT AMAZING PIANOLA! Maybe a video of a time-laps of the progress on the building next?
Thanks for your loyal following! I think it's safe to say that many of us (us with the building, and followers, etc). Me and the others on this channel are also fascinated with electromechanical, and the like. Not to mention, we are preservationists, and our passion is to hang on to things like this
As someone who plays liano and works on/tunes them/fixes them on the side, It's awesome to see that old girl chooch again.. Could use a good tune-up.. I immediately could tell what song it was too. Jingle Bell Rock..
I have a fully restored and tuned Mayer 1930’s player, although mine has the pedals for pumping. I’d love to add in a motor and pump system like this one, that’s really cool!
That is amazing! Merry christmas to you all! Videos like this make it hard to wait until your able to have visitors! Keep up the great content and keep us updated on all of it!
QRS still makes/sells piano rolls. I did a web search, and you need to skip over a lot of sheet music (maybe put “roll” in quotes to require the word), but QRS does sell a piano roll for Jingle Bell Rock, for $15. No idea if it was a QRS roll used in the video.
Never tune the piano. It fits perfectly to its environment. I would like to hear soundscape of it playing across the corridors. The untuned sound is special to this machine and there is no other machine in world that has gone out of sync with that audience eg. patients.

Sounds like it would make me check into a psych ward

Excellent, glad to hear the piano still works! Whatever happens, keep the piano as part of the building please!

rush e would be better
Great to see it working again, what other songs do you have for it?
Where are y’all located? I tune pianos!
I love that piano
You should do a 24 hour inside the abandoned psych ward challenge in the future for a video
Do you think they pirated the punch cards by telegram back in the day?
replace that light!
Please get that piano tuned, PLEASE
I needs more than that, it needs a whole restoration of valves, tubes and other important things to make it run right
Could be much much worse.
Sounds good to me... Classic honky tonkish player piano sound.
Purchased my do-da!
thats pretty good
Where’d you get the sheet for Jingle Bell Rock? Custom made? Or that’s something you can just go buy?

Question for you are you gonna be fixing the cooling towers?
It’s out of tune
Oh my thats so cool, you should put a mew starter in that fluorescent light amd see if it comes on again :)
I would love to live in a building like this ngl
Maybe rent can help with the power bill you complain about? 😂😂
Yeah if I lived in the States I would happily pay rent for living in a piece of this amazing building!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎄
Song name? I heard parts of multiple.
jingle bell rock
@zelzagati Yes, but there are others too?
You should start playing then put all the covers down and act like a ghost is playing it and it’s a mystery, for a short
