We provide this laptop for our big bus mechanics. They are used 24/7, 365 days a year and have proved to be the most reliable and economical option. Past Toughbook models have lasted 10 years plus without issue. We only replaced them because of new OS / software upgrade requirements.
I have the old toughbook CF-31 as an average consumer, I paid about $6,000 for mine back in 2012, here we are in 2024, I still use it every day, the battery still works, everything still works really well. I’d buy another one when this one is no longer viable.
These batteries are propably hot swappable, you can replace them while the laptop is tunning and not connected to a charger (may sure, that at least one somewhat chargred is connected if you do 8t while the laptop is on).
I think I need this thing for a specific use case .... to survive me I need something that won't break I try my hardest not to neglect anything but at this point I think it's pathological.
