Being able to use the repair tool on the Penguins in Battlefield is obviously a reference to how birds are a government conspiracy and are actually recon drones.
Birds aren't real though.
Might be a reference to that one delusional youtuber conspiracy theorist that makes videos about how penguins aren't real and zoo's and nature documentary makers use animatronics and CGI to keep up the conspiracy.

The Pathfinder line, "I'm just a robot standing in front of a loser, asking them to die" might be a direct reference to Notting Hill's iconic quote : "I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her."
I've never played Apex Legends, but a lovable robot misquoting a chick-flick seems pretty in character.

Not a developer on Paper Mario or with nintendo, but know enough about dev to be able to tell you what's going on at 4:30
So part of the development process typically involves modifying an existing game to prototype and iterate ideas before forking off into an entirely new build. Examples of this would be Animal Crossing New Horizons which started it's life as an internal mod for Animal Crossing New Leaf (See The Cutting Room Floor for more info on this).
What has specifically happened herre is likely that this is a modified build of paper marior for prototyping an idea for an entirely different game started after the expected releases. Then a request was likely made for a build to be packaged and set for localisation for the subsequent korean release. The inclusion of all the pre-release assets are likely because a development build was packaged. Release builds have less assets despite coming later, because they have all these assets stripped out, but release builds do not replace development builds, they are just what gets released. Modifications for subsequent titles in the series (or entirely new IPs using the engine) would then be done in the development build. The reason those assets have creation dates *after* the release date is because they were as mentioned likely experimenting with ideas for another title in paper mario's engine with those assets, then when localisation required a build for a korean release, the development build was packaged and sent, and since localisers would be editing strings rather than the bulk of assets, these would have all been left in and slipped past build testing due to the mistake.
TLDR: Cats are likely an abandoned or unreleased game being prototyped in paper mario's engine via modifying the dev build of paper mario.
Stuff like this always makes me wonder what the game could've looked like... Interesting stuff!
Originally Super Paper Mario was developed for the GameCube before they changed it over to the Wii. I'm guessing a game was once its on IP with these cats was modified like you mentioned.

Using the repair tool on penguins is actually a real life thing.
I work as a full time penguin repair man.
Most of my work is using the repair tool to repair penguins who have fallen foul to sharks.
A few blasts of the repair tool and the penguins are as good as new.
The repair tool doesn’t work on Seals incase anyone was wondering.
The downside of my job, is you can’t drink coke on the job, or the polar bears hassle you until you hand it all over and don’t even bother bringing Pepsi to work, as that really angers said Polar Bears.

The part about the microwave at 10:23 is incorrect. The microwave was accidentally invented in the 1940s by an engineer named Percy Spencer. When testing a new system called the magnetron (the thing in microwaves that create the 'microwave' to cook the food), he realized that it had melted a chocolate bar that was in his pocket. The thing with the hamsters did happen but the technology already existed during that time.
So apparently it was accidentally invented by more than one person, so I guess that’s where he got it from
True, the microwave oven was also patented in 1945 in the USA, while the British scientists discovered the reanimating of frozen hamsters in the 1950s.

I actually half-performed the infinite world easter egg as a kid by taking out the disc while it was loading. I thought the easter egg was just the fact that the sky would turn dark though. I never stayed on that screen long enough to get the falling korrins.
Yep it works with budokai 3 too if you eject the disk you can summon a lot of saibamans and they start to turn out RED instead of the GREEN color version XD it was fun to watch at first but never tryed on other budokai games sadly =p

@@max-rdj9741 - That would still be bad. I’ve bought a fair amount of very cheap consoles off eBay that I managed to completely restore for next to no cost.
Even when I can’t, OEM parts are still valuable and often irreplaceable. Especially stuff like the shell. Third-Party shells are never as good as the originals in my opinion, but that’s the part he tries to break the most.

i believe the pathfinder voice line was a place holder sound for pathfinder when he doesn't have the set path of voice, he was trying to use a voice line called "mirage a trois" which is not even pathfinder's voice line

Not really political at all yeah, Biden was just a meme in the cry of fear forums that made it into the full game, there was also a boss in either the main game or multiplayer whose projectiles could be turned into cubes with Biden's face.

If you eject the disc while on the loading screen you'll have the same effect for DBZ! Also works on the loading screen with the cybamen from Tenkaishi, if you go long enough you get a red cybaman, then eventually a blue.
1:00 I thiiink Duckman is a placeholder file to test pseudophysics on the character. The hair is fully modeled, and the rest are blatant "REPLACE THIS" textures.

@@Zontar82 I can believe that. I remember hearing about the subject a few years ago and most of those maps barely look compatible with Super Paper Mario's structure.
The map structure almost feels like what you'd expect from classic Paper Mario which is REALLY weird to think about.

@@Zontar82 I honestly think it being in the Korean version is of no relevance. It's very likely that Intellegent System kept these unused files with the files for Super Paper Mario, and they were overlooked when the files were used for the Korean version nearly 2 years later.

Oh! I've heard that Pathfinder line before! My friends are really into Apex Legends so I'll play with them or watch pretty frequently. I hear it randomly and I'm pretty sure it's a placeholder voice line when another cannot load. It's not a select able choice in the menu.
How often do you hear it?
@@Miunim Not very often. My friends play a lot of ranked and ranked arenas. When they’re grinding for that they’ll go for like 5-12 hour stretches. I’ll hang out sometimes while they’re playing. I’ve heard the line maybe 2-3 times in a couple hundred hours.

I think the reason why those cats are only found in the Korean release of Soup Pap was because since it released so late, Intelligent Systems didn't have the build that they usually gave to translators on hand anymore. So they gave the latest build they had to them.

Notting Hill, as others have commented
The entire Pathfinder "Quip wheel" in #6 is actually Mirage's quip wheel (a different character). Either he modded the game to do that, or it's glitched, because 1 character cannot have the quips of another.
There was a bug recently where, after respawning from the dropship, you'd be a different character than the one you started as. Perhaps this "discovery" would be repeatable if (as possibly shown in this case) your quips don't update with your character. Meaning, start the game as Mirage and have the "Mirage a trios" quip bound, die, respawn as Pathfinder, and select the Mirage a trios quip, somehow linking to this unique pathfinder line?
It’s not really something Mirage would say either.
10:00 Wormrat seems strange, but those are clearly guinea pigs, not hamsters... and that is probably why there is a cooked texture for one. Guinea pigs where originally a species, that we still don't really know where it came from, that in places like Peru are used as a food animal. It seems gross and mean, but we do the same thing to rabbits, so a small rabbit-like creature that can be cooked up and eaten like you would a rabbit or a small bird like a pheasent, makes sense. So no, likely not a reference to hamster in a microwave, it is literally just a BBQ'd Guinea pig.

On the topic of cry of fear and Biden Easter eggs, there is also a cube hidden in the files of the game with a texture of Joe Biden on it simply named "Biden cube". It is never seen in-game and has an scuffed animation of it spinning a little bit. I guess one of the devs either didn't like Biden or just thought it was funny to put him in. Probably some kind of inside joke
It actually can be seen in-game through console. If you put in sv_joebiden 1 during the third boss of the game, the boss will shoot Joe Biden cubes at the player for some reason

This might be stretching it, but the duckman skin from 'Horizon: Zero Dawn' could possibly be a reference to the 90's animated tv show 'Duckman', which was about an anthropomorphic duck detective. It explains the legacy character part on the sandwich board.

Oh yeah I have heard of the Mortal Kombat 4 bio screens or whatever you call them. Apparently those things were planned but ultimately scrapped due to some reasons I don't exactly remember but one of them was that the character descriptions were a bit too comical and made no sense at all. They probably ran out of ideas and time too fast to fully edit them and thus scrapped them. I've read it on an article on the cutting room floor I believe, so I highly suggest looking it up there as well, to get a more accurate explanation than what I'm providing here.
FWIW, Duckman was a cartoon in the 90s where the title character was voiced by the guy who played George Costanza, best known these days for being in several memes.

Those cats in Mario reminds me of some old bedtime faityrales in TV in Europe, mostly in Czech. The black cat reminds me of Mikeš, a black cat who wore clothes and tried to behave like humans. The one with a bow also reminds me one cat from "Večerníček" a bedtime TV series for kids

No, microwave ovens were invented when some radiation testing was going on at Raytheon and one of the workers noticed that the chocolate in his pocket had melted.
I heard it was during world war 2 when microwaves were being experimented with that it melted the chocolate bar.
But that was just its discovery. It had nothing to do with ovens at that time.
They were invented independently by the hamster guy, the principles for their invention were easily reachable by anyone working with radio by that time
