And still no love for the plushies.... Is there a way to tell steam to give you your cut?, can't "rebuy" tbh 80% of the reason I have that game is your stuff
That's on the list for next episode! Thankfully it's going to be a piece of cake compared to the absolute nightmare of a process we had to endure in the Waterbeavers mod
53:05 love the long run videos longer the better not only for the occasional laugh when you do something that you think shouldn't be too bad ends up doing something devastating😂 but you have a play style that I can literally just watch all day
Please try the easy well-being buildings a bit earlier this series, since they don’t just life longer but also run faster and work quicker. Even if you don’t reach the next lifespan bonus, the other boni are not to be underestimated.
31:45 An ideal way to deal with bad water can be to flush it away by using the area currently occupied by the birch trees. You would have to research a bit of stuff but its likely to work with a simple diversion. Leeves and 2,3 gates would be an easy investment for saving your crops.
If you put some levees with dams on top just a bit down streams from the natural bridge, below the fermented cassava warehouse. You could increase the depth on the water in the upper part of the river. Than you wouldn't have to pause the pumps and the natural irrigation would spread a little bit longer. And please fix the water sorting up by the source before the badtide.
GG. You should put dams just upstream of the overhangs for the bad water. That way they will block the bad water from flowing upstream after a drought until the good water can get there. And it will give you a pool for the trees and berries during a drought.
Have one farmhouse on harvest, one farmhouse on plant. Works most efficiently like that. If you need them to harvest Canola immediately, set one to Canola until it's gathered that crop for the season
1:05:15 Episode 3, “The bad water bypass”? Episode 3, “Sorting good & bad water with sluice blocks”? Episode 3, “Sluice-block water-sort”? Episode 3, “Putting a water tower with bad water sorting on the water source blocks” Episode 3, “Water sorting storage tower” 🥹🙏🥹🙏🥹🙏🥹🙏🥹
just a few tiles after the bridge the land drops down that tile, but you can levee up a level in the river with dams on top to store more water during droughts and help out a bunch early on
I know this is late and you have more episodes after this, but - when I was doing my most recent playthrough I got a LOT of value out of decorations because each of them adds in a wellbeing bonus! The carrying speed and lifespan and walking speed and everything really add up, for what ends up being not that much science or resources for stuff like a 1x1 roof, or a bust, or a brazier etc.
Here is a suggestion. You can build a Levee and Dam stack right next to the Fermented Casavas. You could also block off the Badwater from back flowing, just depends if it is worth it to you to add Dams right at the badwater and fresh water confluence. That will hold in more water keeping the ground hydrated. Also I think you set a farm to harvest kohlrabi just so they clean out those unmarked faster.
20:45 Ho No , we doing the pause pumps ballet again? How about moving the pumps downstream, after the dam and making a secondary dam there? Should avoid a lot of yelling at the computer
It would probably be better to put some levees with floodgates in and utilize the fact that the upper part of the terrain of the river is 2 deep there.
First couple cycles are always more about surviving than anything else. Now that we've gotten all of that squared away, we can move toward optimization
Two things I forgot: please, for the sake of my sanity, overbuild your log storage! It’s full and you have grown oaks around you could get growing again. Free up the spaces in the haulers hut and have them be the main overflow for workers, or actually have enough inventors to soak up the beavers who have nothing to do during drought. Consider the badwater discharge and a nice power plant stream (at least the start of it) as a project after the badtide diversion. Your droughts are not long, but it would keep the progress (and food) running. Plus you want it at some point anyway, since the bots require a basic guaranteed power supply. Well, that will take time. But it never hurts to prepare early to minimize work later. (There is no such a thing as too many logs stored)
Long videos are good! Also, they're not harvesting those crops because you need more farmhouses! It'd really be a good move to rush up to the water source and stick a floodgate there to protect against badwater, although you're nearly ready to do sluices instead, which would be even better - probably your plan. I'm really happy to learn that about ladders though. That was seriously good news.
16:34 FT works nicely in pair, for IT need a trio, one in the middle that is focused on planting and 2 at the planting limit of the "center" one on harvest, ( and for WB... yeah, will see when the complete version comes out)
You should build a secondary dam, on the other side of your small water wheels at your "high ground" by you natural overhang! Make it two high so it holds more water!
With respect to your question about long videos: I like the longer format! But, I'll admit, I skip around the longer format videos during the weekday (so much to watch, so little time). On weekends, I watch at normal speed, minimal to no skipping around.
→ 49:30 "Why the canola hasn't been a target for harvesting?" - All of your farmers have other nearer-by food to harvest first. → I think you can expand your industrial area near the river by going up a level - get the upwards power shafts plus some platforms to connect from your soybean-fermenter, and put the next set of buildings on the level higher (between the canola and the border of the map). You can also get another beaver-powered wheel up there for the drought times, but you should certainly at some point also build more water wheels in the river. → 58:20 Also prioritizing this lower ladder should help the 8 beavers get into the already built barack on the ground and not be homeless. (Doesn't matter anymore, just a remark for the next time.)
You opened a lot of river space with those stairs. Until you get around to dynamiting it deeper, it'd be a great idea to plant some mangroves and get fruit going to shore up food.
I always end up bypassing all the foods that need canola until later for IT, can get a fair amount without dealing with it. because when you get to bots, you always end up crashing food stores when you put in grease factories since they need so much oil
That bad water source could be better employed as a power source; that obvious kick diversion with the 'built in' overhangs don't leave much space to put water wheels and is kind of a trap.
If you put a single row 1 tall of leveys on the riverbed right before the bad water fall, after droughts the bad tide wont make it back even if you pump out all the water.
Just found your channel! You asked about preferred video length in this episode. In my opinion, the first episode is the only one that should be shorter. Other than that, go nuts!
I think an hour long episode is fine at the start but keep it close to an hour for now. Getting into 90+ minutes for an episode should be saved for mid-late game when stuff does take longer.
I was thinking a fermenter where the 2 small tanks went, with a platform it would have fit perfectly and let you keep going further down Also Forrester needs to replant dead trees
I like the longer episodes, I watched a lot of your previous Timberborn livestream. (How many hours were those?😵) I personally would like if the episodes stayed between 40-60 minutes, including the outro. Your recording style of "one-shot live commentary and upload", working your list, and finishing up stuff tends to push the episodes to the hour mark and then some. It's hard to put away the beaver game when you're having fun, which you clearly are. :)
I don't believe those oaks in the poisoned area will ever be able to grow, not even as Birches. The water just can't rush in fast enough and even if it could only one or two extra are safe. Just distracting your forester when there's other trees to replant.
Take the time to watch RCE beavermyths. Interesting how one water wheel with a levee either side is the same power output as 3 water wheels side by side. Efficient use of resources.
You're going to need more beavers eventually you might as well not put platforms under the gear shop and put a barracks and just not connect one or the other😊
I understand that many of your viewer want mods but I want to present a different side. Early after a patch I prefer no mods runs because it really shows how to push the things already built into the game to their limits. It is also better for new players who might have just bought the game with the new update. Later on in the update cycle go ham with mods. Early on not so much.
I think you shouldn't deprioritize scientists, they're really important! I have 2 of them at the start and then 4 of them in the early game, no science no progress.
JCTB: *laughing* How stupid is this? It's pretty stupid. It's not stupid if it works. It is also an efficient use of space, it is also a power transfer to the lower level that could be utilized later. You say it's stupid, but I see a very efficient use of space and potential for future extension.

+1 for the long videos. You got us spoiled with the water beavers lately lol
52:40 hour is a nice time it feels for a timberborn vid
JC! Build stairs up to the water sources and put in a bad water diversion before the first bad tide!!!
That's on the list for next episode! Thankfully it's going to be a piece of cake compared to the absolute nightmare of a process we had to endure in the Waterbeavers mod
Literally opened TH-cam just to try and see if this video was coming out. Posted 52 seconds ago, couldn’t be more perfect timing
Enjoy!
to keep that bad water away from the trees and berries some after a drought, you could put some dams in at the intersection where the 2 meet

Beavers aren't human, but in this game they are people.

medical bed would be advised spending some science on too, have some injuries

1:42 welp, that stayed the same, thank you sir
You build extra water pumps, where if you even set 1 of them as being prioritized by haulers you would have a bunch more water again
just a few tiles after the bridge the land drops down that tile, but you can levee up a level in the river with dams on top to store more water during droughts and help out a bunch early on

I don't usually watch the entire video in one go, but a longer video means that in total I have more stuff to watch, which is nice.

1:03:40
It might be interesting to swap the dead oaks for pines, so they at least grow in time to produce any logs.
Ayyy, Iron Teeth playthrough time!
Congrats on the sponsorship!
Love the long episodes 😎
I love the long videos, I feel like 45 mins as a minimum is great, any shorter and I’m left wanting.
Yes I enjoy the more long form videos
Also dont forget to unpause the water pumps
I'm so excited to see how you play this map out!
I think it's got some great potential, especially if we can integrate those natural overhangs
24:19
You can build a tower of platforms in the middle and then build the overhangs to conect both sides.
I think this would look the coolest.
Long videos are good! Also, they're not harvesting those crops because you need more farmhouses! hour episodes are great : )
Keep making food storage as your current ones get full. Nothing wrong with surplus when you can get it for later struggles.

You should move those water wheels upstream one tile and you will be able to go 5 wide beside the gear workshop.
53:00 we LOVE LONG videos

Pretty sure if power is a concern you can build another set of stairs and set up like three water wheel stacks back to back
On my play through of this map I built my industrial area in the grey area on the bottom of the map but I built them over storage.
I was thinking a fermenter where the 2 small tanks went, with a platform it would have fit perfectly and let you keep going further down
You should build a dam at the point where the badwarer spawns. So it doesn't back up the river at all.
Just found your channel! You asked about preferred video length in this episode. In my opinion, the first episode is the only one that should be shorter. Other than that, go nuts!
you can stack the warehouses since you have ladders. optimizing storage density and all

🐸!
We love ladders!
1:40 The spice must flow
17:17 a lot of the IT decorations are locked behind having Metal, but shrubs and lamps a not and can be placed around stuff easily enough
+1 for long videos
I was thinking a fermenter where the 2 small tanks went, with a platform it would have fit perfectly and let you keep going further down
Also Forrester needs to replant dead trees
I don't know if you already dit or not, but please put a lantern with the Barack you build at 26:28 there is a perfect spot for it beside the path.
51:55 dont need the platforms, just put another barracks up there
got there eventually i see :)
I like long videos, I've stuck around for videos up to 4 hours long on other channels. Thanks for asking
I think getting a tunnel mod just so you can make an avatar secret tunnel joke would be hilarious
I'm listening...
Could use a ladder to that first Rooftop Terrace...
1:40 well, there goes my lunch :)
41:30 bad water bypass 🥺🥺🥺
make this series an Aesthetic build please
47:17
It would be better to have it near the rest of the industry, so it becomes easier to connect everything.
37:37 you could avoid the ugly but putting a ladder instead of stairs there
21:15 You need another ~5 inventors. You have several workers without a job, which is just unmade science going to waste. 37:10 yay, better.
Connect both power supplies just for the fun of it
i like looong videos like 1:30 to 2 hr long
My request is to make water beaver live stream when they become compatible
I like the longer episodes, I watched a lot of your previous Timberborn livestream. (How many hours were those?😵) I personally would like if the episodes stayed between 40-60 minutes, including the outro.

Just distracting your forester when there's other trees to replant.
yay Mods !
Both-BOTH -both is OK .
1h for a serie start is long enough IMO, later on can stretch a bit and after EP45 it'S Movies Time!
"6" = 4?? you ok bud?
Are any of us ever okay? 😂
Take the time to watch RCE beavermyths. Interesting how one water wheel with a levee either side is the same power output as 3 water wheels side by side. Efficient use of resources.
People who dislike long videos are total smoothbrains. Like, just pause it homeslice.
GAHHHHH I LOVE THIS GAME
At 53:26 I'm definitely a long video guy
don't forget to not replant the oak trees that are destine to die again
+2 for longer vids
Would it make sense to build another dam (taller with a couple levees) just before where the bad water flows?
After building a dam on the cliff to divert the bad tide…
1:03:00 but even though it’s cycle 5 there’s no bad water bypass 😭😭😭
You're going to need more beavers eventually you might as well not put platforms under the gear shop and put a barracks and just not connect one or the other😊
Is the vending machine mod available for you to put in
I tend to prefer videos which are less than an hour at least at the start.
I understand that many of your viewer want mods but I want to present a different side. OH MY GOD PLEASE replace the platforms for a ladder to get into the rooftop terrace😂😁 it’s so ugly
I very much like the long videos, short videos are worse at relaxing to.
Can anyone lend me a account that has "timberborn" in it. I really wanna play🥺
JCTB: *laughing* How stupid is this? It's pretty stupid.
It's not stupid if it works. It is also an efficient use of space, it is also a power transfer to the lower level that could be utilized later. You say it's stupid, but I see a very efficient use of space and potential for future extension.
