I live in Manchester, UK now, but was born not far from here in Pretoria. These sounds some how sound familiar to me even though I was 2 years old when I came to manchester. Before we moved my parents lived right near Kruger, and I likely heard these sounds every night. I'm thinking of bringing my beautiful daughter Chloe to South Africa this way she can experience it, I played this video for her at her hospital bed when she was recovering from a huge fall that broke all the bones in her right hand and 4 of her ribs, and it helped her sleep. She's 19 now and we're both saving up to visit SA so she can experience this place and I can experience it as an adult. Dear Pretoria, I love you so, Dear South Africa, I love you with all my heart. I know Chloe feels the same way even though she's never been below the Tropic of Cancer let alone to South Africa. But we're coming. I'm saving up money I make as a postal delivery worker here in Manchester and Chloe's following her dreams of becoming a pilot. Hopefully soon we'll return to Pretoria and come visit Kruger. I know Chloe and I would love it and it would mean a lot to us, after all, it's in her blood just as much as it is in mine.
What an incredible story Ann 😃 Thank you so much for sharing it with us! We hope that your trip is soon and is everything you remember and more 👍 Africa is truly a special place, and once it finds it's way into your heart, it's hard to shake the feeling ❤ All the best!
Used to Live in Nelspruit...Kruger my second home!!! Now in UK for 15 years and listening to this make me wonder what the hell I was thinking leaving. Absolutely stunning. Depressed/Martin Stassen
Glad you think so, David 😊 We placed the mic facing the river in a bush a few meters from the fence line. With regards to the setup, it was just the H! unit with a fluffy pop filter over the XY mics. Hope that helps 👍🏽
Hi Nouman, that is great to hear 😊 We do sell our tracks individually, you can get in touch with us regarding that via our 'About' page email address here - th-cam.com/users/DestinationAudioabout Chat soon!
@@DestinationAudio I was bite by one of those when I was a kid my mom was told on the phone that I was bite so she thought it was a snake ahh good memories
Hey Paul, we have been looking into the iTunes route for a while now, as well as selling it online via an eCommerce store. To help us along with this, could you give an idea of what you would pay for the following: 1) A single 2hr recording 2) A bundle of 3 recordings (2hr each) 3) An album of 12 recordings (2hr each) Thanks!
Destination Audio I personally would pay a normal music album price for one hour recording (normal album length), at the end of the day it is up to you to set the price. iTunes is good because of piracy protection
Anybody knows what animal makes those noises at 0:59 - 2:00 i live in texas and i swear I'd hear them at night sometimes... PLEASE LET ME KNOW.. THANKS!!

I'm a South African living in Germany. I haven't been back home in 4 years and hearing this makes me tear up a little bit. Thank you :D
+Riley the Direwolf you're very welcome! Hope you get to come home soon :)
Riley the Direwolf I wanna go to USA but leaving this will be such a challenge
You haven't been back home? Aren't you already at home in Europe? Africa is home to black people, not Boers.
@@mfalmekali you gotta be south African to understand dawg
When I am back in the UK and not working as a guide in Africa I listen to these videos all night.
Do you think it comes close to the real thing? Maybe with surround sound and a cool breeze. Oh to be so lucky!

I was born in SA but haven't been back now in 10 years. I'm so homesick for it. These sounds really help me feel like I'm back there.
We’re so glad that they help Gina 😊 Hope you get to travel back and hear the bush first hand soon 👍🏼

Hope you get to experience it again Milla 😊
i miss this so much! because of covid we haven’t been allowed back to the game reserve my family goes to, so we haven’t been in agesss
Hope you get to go back soon Amy 😊 Hang in there!
Those screams are definitely an Hyena
+Jaun van Loggerenberg Very cool, make sure you subscribe for more Jaun!
I think the screaming that sounds like a crying baby is actually a bushbaby. Heard a few monkeys in the clip aswell. Great!
Reminds me of my holiday back in Botswana in the summer. Serious second homesickness I’ve got right now
Sorry to hear Tom, hope you get to travel back here soon!
Listen to this when I am feeling lonely...
Glad it helps Gert!
Hyena sounds are really scary to hear, but I love them!
You recorded this quality with an H1, pretty amazing. What kind of microphone/setup did you use? Where did you place the microphone during the night?

@@DestinationAudioexcellent thanks 👍. Enjoy your next time in the bush, and thanks for sharing all those sounds, it's great!
Only a pleasure 😊 All the same to you 👍🏽
Is your audio available on any platform besides TH-cam?
Unfortunately not Michael, we do sell and send our files directly to those who are interested in listening offline, but that's about all.
Thanks for uploading this. I listen to your audios whenever I’m missing Kruger or South Africa in general. Can I buy these tracks please?
