I bought a pair of S22s for my Suzuki GSX-R 1000. I am really pleased with them. Masses of grip, quick-steering, they give me the confidence to ride harder on my favourite roads. Recommended.

Robert sorry for the late reply: 36 psi front and rear. Still very happy with this tyre. I ride mainly twisty roads for fun and am so pleased with the grip levels and confidence these tyres afford.
I run these on my BMW S1000XR and they are unbelievably good ! 3k miles in toured the Dolomites in sun and rain and not a chicken strip in sight ! Best tyre I have ever ridden for front tyre grip and confidence ! Its made this "old man" a hooligan again

After 9000 km of Supercorsa SP V3, I've ordered this S22 yesterday. And i'll be riding on track soon. Hopefully i can feel the different.
How they compare on track and in which group??

It looks like they have steepend the sidewalls a bit on these a bit. On the S21 I was able to rub out the chicken strips quite easily with just normal canyon / street riding, but when I changed to Michelin Power RS I couldn't reach the last 1/2" of tire until I attended a track day on them. These look to be more similar in profile to the Michelins, as in steep sides/ shoulders as compared to the flatter S21's. Probably how they got to the 15% increase in cornering speed as there is simply more tire available at high-speed full-lean. Interesting... I may just try these next
Same, i found the power rs a really aggressive profile
It has a lot to do with how the tire deforms. Simply because you were able to scrape up the entire Bridgestone doesn’t mean the Michelin would give you more grip and corner speed.
Just for clarity this is not a review but a product presentation. I have no problem with that but call it what it is.
I’m on S22’s at the moment and have ridden them on track, they feel pretty good to me but I’m not that fast.
We need a honest comparison test of all the major players

All work good , the one thing that i don't talk about this tire profile.
The bridgestone has a steeper profile which gives you more tire patch when it's on edge giving it more traction .
If you've different than all the other tired because i don't have a high profile.
The birthstone will have to get laid over further to go around to turn and hook up.
They don't talk about the tire profile being steeper which gives it different turning characteristics also they don't say that when the bike is laid over on its side a give you a wider tire patch which means more traction in the turn.
They feel different because of the steeper profile angles would you see more on motogp racing bikes.
It's a great tier and there are many motels for you to try from birthstone.

I like Bridgestone Tires and I run the S21 but I don't put much value on a review of what the manufacturer claims. I prefer a third-party test.
I bought S21 last year for my Yamaha fz1 and wore them down in less than 1000 miles in the cyns .. but I did like the S21s and will install S22 for my Honda 954rr..

Dont be mistaken. This is not a track tyre. If you go on track with these you really should be careful with throttle! But these tyres handle hard braking well.
The s21’s should go WAY down in price now right?
Ive only used Bridgestone tyres on my bike, 1st set S20 AWESOME, 2nd Set S21 AWESOME ! Im looking forward to the S22’s on my next tyre change :)

I currently ride on Michelin PP2 CT’s (ZX14) because I feel they are A Good street tire, but I would like to know how are the S22’s or PDRC3’s better?

I've been through two pairs of PP2s on my CB600F and FZ6 and while they're a good tire I would have to say that there are better options out there. I currently have S22s on my GSX-S 750 and they are good but judging by the wear I've seen over the last ~ 1500km I don't think they will last as long as I hoped for. I was very happy last year with the Michelin Pilot Power 5 that I had on my MT 09, the rear lasted just shy of 14k km while the front still had decent life left in it, at least another 6 to 7k km judging by the wear pattern. I'm really eager to wear the S22 down and slap a pair of Power 5 on the GSXS since I really liked how it transformed the front end feel of the MT 09. Imho the worst street tire I had on my bikes was the Power 3 which after around 8k km got bald on the sides with plenty of thread left in the middle, it also developed a nasty ridge where the two different compounds meet, it was especially pronounced on the rear. I do mostly spirited twisty road riding with no track days.

@@manskimix I believe the S22 has a more aggressive V profile but sadly I bought the bike used and the tires already had a couple of thousand kms of city commuting on them and were, and still are, very squared off and feel very numb compared to the Power 5s when changing direction. This however is because I'm comparing a squared off set of tires on a different bike, that's why I'm waiting to kill these and change to the Power 5s to have an apple to apple comparison between two tire sets on the same bike with the same suspension setup.
Dave Moss has a nice video on his channel where he tests the most commonly used hypersport tires and I believe the S22 and Power 5 are included in this comparison.

S22's came on my new 2022 MT10...so far, after 800 running in miles and not going over 6 - 7K Rpm, the rear has worn to only 2mm of tread! I can't see how this normal??!
I get almost 3k out of them running them hard.

It's an interesting and competitive field where the S22 and DRC2 are very evenly matched. I was pleasantly surprised by the wear on track from both and without testing them back-to-back it'd be hard to split them.
Don't forget about the Metzeler M7RR and the Avon 3D Ultra.

@@Jaded-Wanderer Great shout, plus Michelin Power RS or Dunlop SportSmart Mk3. They're all very good.
The Rosso Corsa is more similar to the Bridgestone RS10, the The regular Rosso 3 is more in line with the S22. You will need to do primarily canyon / track riding on both the Rosso Corsa and RS10 in order to wear them out evenly, otherwise you will go through the center band in 2-3k miles. As suggested by Bennett, I would also look at the Michelin Power RS if your looking in that ultrasport category.

Usually around 32-38 front and 36-42 rear But it depends on the bike and what kind of riding your doing.

More grip, more speed cornering, heat up very quickly, better in wet condition, etc.
I wonder how they would work on my CBR 1000 RR SP2 ? Time to buy some.
They work great on one of my friend's 2019 GSX-R1000R, so they'll probably work great on your bike too!
funny enough i just bought an SP2 myself(#67 reporting!) was thinking the same thing after burning through the supercorsa's in like a week

Yes
No, not good for cold and wet roads. They are very slippery . You have to ride slow in the corners and even then your machine slips away . Temperature About 5 to 8 degrees Celsius and wet road is not a succes for these tires . Next will be Road 5 from Michelin again.

@@zx10rabnud The Michelin competitor to the S22 is the Power 5. Unless you are really pushing the limits in the twisties or planning to do an occasional track day, the Road 5 is going to be the better tire and last much longer.

5:25 How is it possible to increase cornering speed by 15% while laptime improves 1.2% comparing S22 to S21? Is the S22 30% slower on the straight or how is this possible?
Presumably because the amount of a typical track where cornering speed improvements can be taken advantage of account for approximately 8% of the circuit length? Just guessing, John
@@bennettsbikesocial when i am on the track i am 90% of the time in a lean angle above 20 degrees. that must be a weird track for a tire test.
Corners don't account for 90% of any track (unless you're on an oval!), so I'm guessing it's down to the actual sections of corner where corner speed can be improved. Again though, I wasn't there so I'll get Michael to respond...
The cornering speed increase and overall lap time improvement are two different measures; speed and time. So the increase of corner speed could be up from 60mph to 69mph (15%), for example, which in term helps us shave 1.1s off our lap time of 1m30s (1.2%). Equally, when measuring the improvements of the tyre, I'd imagine the corner speed and lap time were measured separately, but I have asked Bridgestone for their input too in case I've interpreted your question incorrectly. Lets invite every Moto-Journalist in the world to Jerez, a famous TRACK to test in the DRY our all new ROAD tires that claims improved WET weather performance. If we fly them to this famous track and give them the best bikes in the World we will most certainly get a valid non bias opinion of the true quality of these tires.

Yes, it's a lot better in the wet, and that by itself is reason enough to update to these S22. And that 1.2% improvement in the dry means you'd be LAPPING the same bike fitted with the S21 after 62 laps on a 1:30 course. Not too shabby.
