I’m so happy you talked about how horrible Joe Exotic is. I never understood how anyone could find him bearable after all of the terrible things he has done to animals… it concerns me so much how people can disregard the conditions and situations that these animals are put in because of a couple of people that have “entertaining” personalities…

Omg Amanda, I feel you! I had a long conversation with my 3 day old nephew over which sports he's allowed to play, because I want to be supportive but I don't want to be bored, lol! Swimming, soccer and tennis are allowed, absolutely no football, baseball, wresting or hockey.
Also, I endorse Marina being the Drew Barrymore (First to "die" in the opening) of Mothman.

I haven't started over either, mostly cause all the work I'd have to do and my bro shares my island 😅. . But we got attached to our villagers and the way the island formed over time, I still have a screenshot of one of the first days and I like to look back on it when I'm not feeling great about my decor/layout 😊

I know I'm far from being there, but I'm so glad to hear people who have good experiences, because it makes me less scared of when I eventually become a mom. I love babies and children and watching them develop into their own people is amazing. I watched it with my niece and my boyfriend's nieces. Jade is going to grow up to be such a wonderful person.
I also love how you talked about the dangers of having wild animals as "pets". It's so dangerous to overly-anthropomorphize animals to the point we neglect their unique needs. Animals are wonderful but we need to respect them. Thank you for constantly talking about animals and animal welfare. It's a topic we don't discuss enough.

i have the same island as well :-) my island is a safe place for me and i adore tweaking it as the seasons change and as my style changes
#1 i love the dead corpse beside Sherbs bed. Also your fountain park and your greenhouse area are so fabulous. I loved hearing about Jade and I love where you island is at. I restarted Jan 1st. So I definitely do not have my original island. You can put permanent ladders or the new vines so you don't need your ladder to see your gold turtle view.
God I love your island. My island is like a little messy town and is very simple and has no big projects. It’s just purely functional but I love it. It’s my kind of vibe and I really want to make it super extravagant but I know I would end up hating it and just feel like I either did too much and/or I haven’t done enough. I don’t have a theme either it’s just random. I’ve had some people say they lived my island a lot and it makes me happy that I don’t have to have a lot of detail to have a good island.

I haven't started over my island. I just can't say goodbye to my villagers so I'm been slowly developing new areas and changing things around to keep things fresh.
I haven't even finished collecting everything so there's that too.
Also, I’ve kept my original island on my first switch! I did completely flatten it though and am rebuilding it from the ground up. But I recently restarted my island on my second switch.

Not enough people outside of the conservation community (and unfortunately not even everyone in that community) are making sure people are aware of this stuff, like- this is not a Disney movie, please do not attempt to pet or feed wild animals out in the wild for so so many reasons 😭

I haven’t restarted before, but I have flattened before! It was easier for me because I kept all my stuff and just could work with what I had more :)
ive had my original island since june 2020, ive flatten my island 3 times and am only halfway through my newest island theme: a zoo! (i have never finished an island theme before)
I haven’t restarted either! I just have too many memories with my villagers. My first 5 villagers are all still there. (Muffy, Kevin, Papi, Bluebear, Fauna)
