There are millions of pop and rock songs. There are maybe a few hundred great ones. There are probably around two dozen true masterpieces. Even most of the great bands never managed to give us any. Lovebites have given us perhaps five in their short existence, and I would say this single performance may be the best of them all.

I always get goosebumps, this song is written with music and lyrics by Asami,
the singer, and if you've seen her dance it's because she studied ballet for many years.
Very few reactions ever notice that. Asami adds an entirely different layer with her dance and the dramatic way she slowly walks down the steps. Goosebumps here too!

"A Frozen Serenade" *IS* a masterpiece, and it's okay to have more than one favorite songs!
There are some songs by LOVEBITES with the potential for a favorite song, e.g. "Edge Of The World" and "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)" or for Thrash lovers "Set The World On Fire", "Break The Wall" and "The Hammer Of Wrath" or even "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down)", some of them have outstanding performances, that can melt your face, e.g. "Holy War", "Nameless Warrior", "Liar", "M.D.O.". The best (live) song is most often the last or current played LOVEBITES song. Don't be in a hurry with choosing your favorite song, mine is currently "Soldier Stands Solitarily", which is an insane piece of music!
It’s almost impossible to have only one favorite song of this band, I have around 30 favorite LOVEBITES songs! Maybe 5-10 stand out a tad more. All the rest are their second bests 😊

I challenge any metal or rock band to be able to replicate this LIVE, and to this level of musicianship. Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist on stage left) is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. You're officially part of the Wolfpack now! No turning back for you! Welcome! This is a good thing. They're quite simply the greatest band I have ever found. I have never been a fan of a band as much as I am with them. It gets better and better, the more you know them, and the more songs you discover. Asami was an R&B singer and a ballerina. Miyako is a full-on concert level classical pianist, who just so happens to also be amazing on guitar. They're all stunningly talented and they don't have a bad song. They're amazing in live performances. All the suggestions you get of what to check out next would be good, but I'd go hard into the paint with something live like Thunder Vengeance or Break the Wall. You've seen them go pretty hard with Judgement Day, but in a music video. This song is a freaking masterpiece. In my opinion, it is one of the best metal songs ever written. The music is beyond excellent and the lyrics are poetry.
Everybody who listened to a handful of Lovebites songs and is not indifferent, gets addicted to them. As far as I know, Lovebites give everything they possibly can for that effect: Musical excellence, amazing creativity, mesmerizing stage presence, infectuous live show vibe, meaningful lyrics.
Iron Maiden, Lovebites and Nemophila contribute to the soundtrack of my everyday life.
Since Electric Pentagram was coming out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad on the album. Asami knew she wanted acoustic guitar on the track. Miyako played the acoustic guitar on the recording, but Live, Midori has to play it, because Miyako is busy on the piano.

This is another masterpiece by amazing Lovebites. This is a metal song that only could be composed by them. Asami’s vocals also shine. The proficient musicianship of these women are out of this world. Btw, Miyako is a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. My next recommendation is “Edge of the World”, live, 2020.

Miyako is a classically trained concert level pianist who started playing guitar at the age of nineteen ( and BTW is self taught ) , Asami comes from an R&B background and studied dance and also plays piano . Midori ( who also didn't start playing guitar until she was around nineteen ) excels on acoustic guitar . There really is no limits to their musicality - as you delve deeper there will be a myriad of surprises waiting for you - it's quite the journey - but SO worth it

Actually, Midori said she usually don't play acoustic guitar - here, she had to, because Miyako (who plays the acoustic in studio) is obviously busy on the piano. Midori started guitar at 20 (and also has a piano background) and went to a music school.
For the full range of their talents I would suggest the ‘Edge of the World/We the united’ live video from the Zepp divercity 2020 concert. And yes Miyako and Midori , at least, are aliens, I have to tell myself that or drop my guitar in the trash.

Seeing you being surprised by Miyako going to the piano was fun and if you haven't noticed, on the end screen of the video, you had a recommendation for Miyako's cover of Eagle Fly Free from Helloween. She released an album re-worked for the piano such as Battery from Mettalica or songs from Yngwie, Gary Moore, Deep Purple and others.
Judgement Day had Fami the new bassist A Frozen Serenade has Founder bassist Miho who left in August 2021.not long after this concert

originally on the recorded version of this song miyako - the guitarist that went to the piano - played the spanish flavored acoustic guitar in the middle section. but as she had to go to the keys guitarist midori took on the task and as usual performed it flawlessly. what a song - what a band ! you will continue to have your favorite from them with every song you hear as you go along. for their mellower side ' swan song' with the chopin piano intro or 'empty daydream' will stand out. for their heavier side 'set the world on fire' or 'holy war' from zepp diver city tokyo in 2020. all live and all outstanding

Lovebites can only be topped by Lovebites - and topping themselves is something they do regularily. These ladies are beyond world class, they're a league of its own.

They play Eclectic Metal blending differents genres of metal and rock in one in box. This is the first band in history which made it. Ladies are very versatile. The main core is power metal and thrash but they use other genres like hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, ballades, progrssive songs. That all they mix with classical music and jazz. For example Asami's roots are in A&B what she uses in couple of songs like Dancing With The Devil and Inspire.

You are very observant as far as the band’s musical talent is concerned. Asami sings every song as if it were her last. I can honestly tell you that in every single song I’ve ever seen her perform she puts everything she has into it, whatever style or tempo. She very often fights back tears during a show. I think she is a world class singer. However, I did say musical talent. Sadly, you did what 90% of reaction channels do, which was not pass comment on the theatrical element that Asami added to this, turning it from a performance into a production. For that reason I cannot give top marks for an otherwise excellent reaction 😎
Just when you think they can't be any more talented: Swan Song with Chopin intro, then step it up even further and Burden of Time proves that Miyako-san really isn't human, but I love how the Eagle Fly Free covers does a nice job showcasing everyone (or see Miyako-san's piano cover of it).

Miyako is not called 'The golden Touch' for nothing. :) No matter which instrument she tackles, she masters it. She started playing the piano at the age of 3 and only picked up the guitar in her late teens. Now she also plays bass and could do a double with Haruna on drums. And all that without losing her composure, breaking a sweat, or even when she's several months pregnant, as she was at the time of this performance. :)
The talent combined in this band is insane! And trust me, your #1 of these ladies on both ends of the spectrum could (and will!) change a few more times. 🤭🤘🏻

I bought a ticket for their show in Milan, Italy, this coming June. (Bought it the minute I heard about it, and I don't live in Italy). It's a small venue and the ticket cost just over 20 Euros. CRIMINALLY cheap for such a world class act! I can't believe they're going to play in such a small place and I'm gonna be THAT close to these master musicians!

I love watching new people discover and fall in love with Lovebites.I think it's safe to say that you are now part of the Wolfpack (fans of Lovebites). It's amazing to me that Miyako (the dark haired guitarist who also played the piano) was 4-5 months pregnant when she played this 2 hour long concert. Brilliant review Brewty. Yes, carrying a ten pound guitar with skinny heels for a couple of hours is insane actually. The Spanish guitar type instrument is a Martin built acoustic guitar. BTW, Miyako is playing piano with her guitar holding on her tammy. She was carrying four month baby under the guitar. She is not wearing heels in this video.

Those are only few of my number ones, but there are more.
No-one has the blues and gets so melancholic in such an beautiful _and_ trustworthy way like Lovebites does here. Especially Asami excels here (imho) in terms of voice sound and body expressions.
And Asami's _ballet dance contribution_ in this song is absolutely outstanding, imho. So touching, and so full of chill and pain, at least in my perception. Without example. I have never before seen a (female) ballet dancer contributing in such a way to an already outstanding Metal show. Hat off! お辞 😳 🐺

For me personally, as I stated in your "Judgement Day" reaction is that JD will most likely never be replaced as my favorite song ever, by any band. And I say that with 50+ years of metal behind me. With that said, Lovebites compositions and the 5 elite/virtuoso level bands members playing them combine to make spectacular music. Even if you don't like this style of music, denying the level of talent would only make you foolish.
Fun reaction. You've probably received so many suggestions that I will busy sit back and see what's next. I realize you can't make your channel about one band, but please try to not let them fall off the table. They are simply that good.

Judgement Day is good but songs like Soldier Stands Solitarily and Dystopia Symphony are metal masterpieces on par with the best of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or Nightwish. And Swan Song is a lesson in why classical and metal music are so closely related. You have so much quality ahead of you.

Not a single bad song.
That says something as them as songwriters. Besides godlike talent and musicianship.
For me that something that for me, distance them from for an example from DragonForce.
DragonForce is also very gifted. But not every of their songs has the the songwriting quality as Lovebites songs...
In their categorie as a powermetal/ Trashmetal band. The only similar is to them in skill and style is BattleBeast and Unleash the Archers, and DragonForce ofc..
But the first two groups is only female lead. Not all female...
I allways want to point out. That its one thing to be a machine on the drums. But the 4'9" Haruna is at the same time one of absolute most musical metal drummers ever.
Her fills and her cymbal work. The ability to at the same time as she goin like flash down the highway also be groovy. Workin those dubbla bass drums ar the same time as her hands layin those cymbal and snare/top fills is straight amazing.
And it also the fact that its not one 7 min song. Its an whole set of maybe 2 ours she plays like that. So she has also perfected her play style to at the same time be ergonomical and not powerwasting....
Miako is first and foremost a piano virtuoso. Thats her main instrument since she was a very little girl.
What Ive heard she started play guitar round 18 years of age. She also plays a cuple other instruments barely...
Since the old basist quited the band Miako (the old bassist is her in this video) is the main composer.
Asami does the main part of lyrics.
And yes Asami s past has been as an ballerina.
Singin at start was more of soul/pop before comin to Lovebites.
Midori who competes in "Fitness" that's a sort of bodybuilding style. Midori that also is an astonishing acoustic guitar player. And in comparison to Miako
Guitar is her first instrument.
(It says something of the musicality of Miako)
And then we have the multi skilled Fami on bass.
Who dont allways get to show her whole skill when she plays metal. But on her own chanel and in other recordings on YT she shows she master every technique there possible is on the bass. The old basist was a very skilled finger playing basist too. But Fami has a very broader skillset.
But listening carefully in good earphones or a high end bass reproducing loudspeakers. Ure left with youre mouth open.
Just amazing bass lines.
And in some songs like "Judgment day" she even put in some slaps. Very uncommon in powermetal...
The only thing Fami this far lacks against the old basist. Is that self-assured confident stage present. But she is also very young. So give her a year more....
But what is making the platform for the guitars and singer to shine. Is Lovebites amzing rythm section.
All of them are just exeptional world class skilled musicians. In my mind i can only think of DragonForce that have a skillset clos in powermetal/trash style...
But as a whole band... Theres very few. Male or female bands that can compare. And when we add the fact that Lovebites never ever do a bad song. So the songwriting AND also live performances are also top notch.
We have a band that in their genre very very few today can compete with...
On top of this they all have just humble wonderful personalities.
Fami s smile can move mountains...
And you can allways tell how fun they have on stage... And also in their behind the scenes videos...
Ive heard that two of them are also mothers. Miako was far pregnant in one of their shows for an example.
One fun thing that many point out is the difference in personality between Midori and Miako. One more "all light's on me" outgiong person on stage. While Miako is a more introverted person. Both in private but also as she apear on stage..

I think some singers go beyond being "just" a singer and are natural storytellers when they sing - Asami is definitely one of those (Floor Jansen of Nightwish is another - you don't seem to have reacted to them - if you're not aware of them, check out this 10-minute epic to be further amazed in a different way: th-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/w-d-xo.html). They're my favourite types of singers, but Lovebites is my favourite band because, as you say, every member is on the same level.

Resident Genius Miyako on piano and guitar was very obviously 5 1/2 month pregnant in this clip and was wearing ballet type slippers to get thru the long show, and not her high heels. What a soldier she is ! btw Midori was playing her 6 string Martin acoustic guitar, mounted on a stand , to play the middle Spanish sounding solo, asno time to take off the electric, with another solo directly following. I guess I'm weird. It actually makes me smile, that people are finding out that female bands can actually play, not just look good, at least in Japan.
By my count, there are dozens of talented female bands in Japan. So, how many , that are truly this good, are there in the US? Make sure it's every single position, not just a few good musicians out of five or six band members.
90 percent of the music I listen too comes from Europe. America has created amazing bands, but nowhere as talented as other parts of the world in my opinion. Especially in the metal world

Maybe it's easier to break your favourite Lovebites song down into categories starting with different letters of the alphabet.
Apart from 'E', where you have 'Epilogue', 'Edge of the World' and 'Empty Daydream' to try and separate. (They aren't known as the 'E' songs by the Wolfpack for nothing).
