The best episode of anything ever. Nothing has ever took me out of this world as much. Nothing has ever made me feel like I'm in a dream, but at the same time, the dream should be the reality. I love Buffy and I will be forever grateful to Joss Whedon, Michael Gershman (may his soul rest in peace), Christophe Beck (for the perfect soundtrack) and all the actors for creating this work of art, this culmination that I feel lucky to have witnessed.
Buffy Summers: "I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones." My absolute favorite line in the episode, and Sarah delivers it just sublimely.
@@matthewmollette6077 Really late I know but when you look into the subtext between Buffy and Sineya it's basically a statement of emancipation. Sineya: "I have no speech, no name. I live in the action of death. The blood cry, the penetrating wound. I am destruction, absolute, alone." I like you had a speach, had a name and an identity. I now exist as the raw power, the blood sodden sword to cut through darkness and like a sword I only have one purpose that makes me solitary from others, from the world I once thrived in I now consider foreign. Buffy: "The Slayer?" I recognize that feeling, you were a Slayer. Sineya: "The First." I was the one to start it all. The Slayer in her most raw and true form. Buffy: "I am not alone." But that isn't me, not like this. Sineya: "The Slayer does not walk in this world." You don't understand, you thrive in the kill, death is your escence and you can't do anything about it for you to try and walk amongst the humans would be like the moon trying to rise with the sun. Buffy: "I walk. I talk I shop I sneeze." No you don't understand, I am an individual, not part of a set. I am much more than just The Slayer. I am a human, a person. Buffy: "I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back." I'll adapt, I'll learn and overcome any and all challanges, like a fireman I'll be the unsung hero who's job never ends. I'll walk through the fire holding my head up high but when the day is done and the herosim is ended I'll have a home to return to. Buffy: "There's trees in the desert since you moved out and I don't sleep on a bed of bones." I defy you, I fight in the balance of life and death, I don't let destruction define me, for too long I've been overcome with fear and anxiety of what makes a Slayer and how I'm supposed to be the first line of defence against darkness when I walk so close on the razor's edge myself but now I say enough.
It's good to see that there are more people out there that adore this episode and it's music as much as I do. It's just so genius and drags me into another world, where time has no meaning.
I love the end piano melody. It's beautiful and has this sort of resigned sadness to it. That last tune, and the entire episode of Restless, sum up BtVS for me.
This is my most favourite episode of Buffy and probably one of the best things Whedon's ever wrote! It is so pivotal to the story of Buffy! (at least I think so)
it was random in order to give the episode a surreal dream like experience. Some parts of this episode were random but some were symbolic, metaphorical and deep. and gave clever hints of whats to come.
Love the bit starting at 1:40...when Buffy opens her weapon bag only to find a bunch of mud, then dips her hands in and slowly starts spreading it on her face. One of my favorite moments in the whole show.
I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now give me my friends back!
Another superb episode!!!That's another reason why I also like Season 4 very much!!!there are very good episodes in that season too like the one with Spike& Buffy thinking they're getting married, the ones with Faith are also brilliant and of course Hush!
This episode was and is still my favourite. Everything that happens can't really be explained. Not so many explanations are given to the viewers when we are in their dreams, but that's why they're so fascinating, aren't they ? I like the fact that the scenes loads of things about the characters without giving the meaning directly.
I love this music. Thankful to the person who uploaded all the tracks from this episode. Still kind of sad I couldn't find the track that plays during Xander's dream where he's being pseudo-seduced by Joyce. That scene is so ethereal and strange, it's one of my favourite parts of the episode.

There was a really fascinating hypothesis that the cheese represents Buffy. Watch the cheese guy bits again and imagine that the cheese guy comments in each character's dream are actually comments about Buffy. (When we're in Buffy's own dream, interestingly, there is no comment. Cheese guy is just there.)
I have read somewhere that the cheese guy represents the part of non logical matter we experience in dreams, the subconscience or whatever makes us dream things that have no sense Which makes it even more admirable, they represented every aspect of a dream sequence while making the story go

I understand, you should watch Twin Peaks and The Sopranos, whom got excellent dream sequences as well.
Used to play this on repeat in high-school. 🥺🥰 This score will always have a piece of my heart.

Tony DeCaro i love this line too. Super powerful for some reason.

Wow, this show STILL amazes me after the (almost) ten years since it's been over. No show or movie ever impacted me like this before.
Wow… and here I am, nearly 10 yrs after this comment and 20 yrs after the end of Buffy… trippy sh*t.
I love the end piano melody. It's beautiful and has this sort of resigned sadness to it. That last tune, and the entire episode of Restless, sum up BtVS for me.

There’s no other episode like it in television history.
@@sarahxo2317 It borrows much from Twin Peaks. You might like Twin Peaks!
because88 I have seen Twin Peaks I loved the first season the second not so much
@@sarahxo2317 Rejoice and Alas! The new one that came out last year is no slouch, either. Feast your dreams.

Music on TV often feels soulless, like it's made by a sleepy man at a conveyor belt.
This music feels important.
Depends on the show.
For genuine big budget/well plotted shows, the effort is usually put into the music

I love 4:03 on, it always makes me tear up and reflect on my life for whatever reason. This whole episode just makes me so emotional.
“You think you know... what’s to come... what you are... you haven’t even begun.”
I wear the cheese, it does not wear me.
Christophe Beck is a genius.
I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now give me my friends back!
Good comment but its "now give me back my friends" rather than give me my friends back.

Every time I see this episode is like the first..the soundtrack is a masterpiece

Agreed. This episode is my favorite too. Just so clever and unic
Musique absolument géniale !!!
I love the more ambient part of this track.

Perfect comment. I truly agree. People need to be patient with it and give it time to breath, grow and develop. Then they will see how amazing it is.
I LOVE THIS SONG.
Mamak Khadem's voice is so haunting...
Such a stunning set. I love "Chain of Ancients" especially, it's so atmospheric and just a little bit sad.
"The slayer does not walk in this world"
"I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods
roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out. And I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now give me back my friends."
The first 50 seconds are epic.
"I made a little space for the cheese slices..."
Bellissima, come la serie da cui è tratta.
4:00 is haunting
The Buffy Restless episode had some really scary parts in it, because unlike vampires, dreams really do exist.
It's the only thing in the episode that has no further meaning. That's why it was there.
"Willow's Nightmare" part is the best
I wanted more from the guy with the cheese
💖
NO FRIENDS! JUST THE KILL! D-:
4:00 "you think you know... what's To come ?... what you are ? You havn't even begun"
*Buffy's looking dawn's future bed*
Be back before Dawn!
I was high when I saw this episode.. it made more sense
2:57 vocals Mamak Khadem 🎼❤️👍
I ove the part starting from 2:50 to 3:20.
what are you talking about? no it wasn't. Restless was, is and always will be S4 finale.
Uhm, it did air on TV.
