  • Quality Inn is an American multinational chain of hotels based in Rockville, Maryland. It is a part of Choice Hotels International family of brands which has operations in more than 40 countries. Quality Inn is the founding brand of Choice Hotels International with more than 1,800 hotels worldwide, as of 2018. Quality Inn was founded nearly 80 years ago as Quality Courts United, which was the first hotel chain in the United States. By 1946, the association grew to 50 hotels and to 100 hotels by 1952. The group was among the first in the industry to offer wall-to-wall carpeting, daily linen changes, 24-hour desk service and in-room telephones. In 1972, Quality Courts was renamed and rebranded to Quality Inn to reflect its growing global presence. By 1990, Quality Inn changed its name to Choice Hotels International and the name Quality Inn became one of several brands under Choice Hotels.

EXCELLENT REPORT MATTHEW!! Almost a mini documentary! With some of the abandoned places around Cincinnati you've covered, including this one, it would be great if pictures or film of their construction, grand opening, the hight of their success, maybe when celebrities were there, etc., could be added to your videos to show the dramatic contrast. I know that is not always possible, I've tried to find such archives online for abandoned or demolished places in Cincinnati, like COLUMBIA SCHOOL, LAIN SEMENARY, OAKLEY DRIVE IN, SWIFTON SHOPPING CENTER, TRI COUNTY MALL, and many abandoned or reperposed early neighborhood walk in theaters, I did not realize how many reperposed old walk in theaters are still around until recently. I could not find any such archives on LaSourdsville Lake/AMERICANA, compared to for example CONEY ISLAND. And I recently read another SMALLER short lived amusement park just up the road from CONEY ISLAND and, according to the article I read, remains are still there. I also read there was once a drag racing track in the now PARK area on the opposite side of LUNKEN AIRPORT divided by BEECHMONT. The only two with tons of archival info is CINCINNATI GARDENS and RIVERFRONT STADIUM. I'd love to see that type of info on abandoned industrial buildings. If it is possible to find pictures of places when they were doing great, would you consider adding them to your videos? I love your work! THANK YOU!

Dang, time sure does fly. At least they would be able to use the property for something else other than an abandoned hotel.

Hehe, I used this location as a sort of personal training ground for urban exploring and filming. There's like crime scene seals on a lot of the doors and it reminded me of Silent Hill 2! Everything is inside. Smashed to pieces and molding but inside. There's even an abandoned Mexican place with a mermaid Jesus mural. XD
Also I wanna point out that all this illegal activity, yo? That was happening 50 feet from the police station. That's literally their next door neighbor. So close that I had to stay away from any large windows facing that side.

This used to be the place to stay if you were visiting Xavier or the U.S. Playing Card factory. I remember Brinkley's in its last years before everything went to h-e-double hockey sticks.

In the late eighties my family used to eat at the restaurant there which was Dockside Six. It was still nice then.

When you participate in illegal activity the law will catch up and figure out what you are up to. The stuff going on at the Hotel probably affected the community in a negative way.
