That short film was like a warm 30 minute hug. A complete delight with beautiful messages of love and friendship. Well deserved its Oscar award. It is worth mentioning that all the other short films nominated were also excellent, it was really a competitive year.

I love The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse, it has actually become my favourite animated short, it is truly a masterpiece in animation, story, voice acting and music, it is a short that I have been able to watch when I have had a rough day, or experiencing a difficult situation. And there were so many inspirational quotes in it too. I'm so happy it won the Oscar it truly deserved it.

An obnoxious work that tries too hard to be a new sort of The little prince/Winnie the pooh that becomes too corny for the worse. This only won for having a big company (Apple) behind it. The Ostrich or My year with dicks deserved this more for being the more daring, original ones in terms of storytelling.
The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse deserved to win this. It's a great story that can help anybody especially someone in a difficult place and even who is struggling with their mental health. But that's just my opinion. I did like "My Year of Dicks" but I love "The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse" more.
"The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse" is not corny in any way. It is a story about, love, kindness, being lost and even grieving. Charlie`s best friend died in a car accident, and it took him years to deal with that. His friend`s death made him start drawing when he was 19 years old. All these little messages in the book (as well as in the film) that you call "corny" are in fact messages of hope, to help all of us who sometimes feel a little lost in life.
@@jimbo9208 It is not very good nor compelling. The animation is good, but the storytelling is really poor and childish. It is meant for children but it's laughable with adult eyes. The way the start giving moral lesson just out of nowhere every 5 minutes is silly af.

The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse on the other hand was a masterpiece in animation, score, voice acting and story and I love the story, I think it could help anybody especially someone struggling with their mental health, it certainly did for me and in my opinion some of the best quotes I have ever heard are from that short. But we all have our opinions.

Loved this short film although I couldn’t understand why the boy didn’t say he was cold after he fell in the river
Its mainly all symbols, not an actual physical journey. Its set in a cold wild, but that is also a symbol
