      It is! There's this show called Blindspot, and one of the actors is Aussie. But he plays an American, so he puts on an American accent. This season, his character is impersonating someone from New South Wales. So he's an Aussie doing the accent of an American doing an Aussie accent. And I love it

    All jokes aside, what Evan said in his "Pizza Express" example is absolutely true. Many (but not all) British accents (and some other accents) have this feature known as *linking* or *intrusive R* .To link two vowel sounds together, we insert an "r" sound. So, saying "I saw it" could sound a little like "I saw *_rit_*

    • @amstreater
      @amstreater 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A similar phenomenon exists in French, it’s called “liaison”, but I had never really noticed this in (British) English!

    • @morganmeadowes6861
      @morganmeadowes6861 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Germany we just say it as one word and sometimes throw an S in there. I mean, we would probably say and write it "Pizzaexpress".

But I feel so sorry for everyone who takes this video serious and probably ends up being sent to an alley where someone waits to steal their kidney instead of the right train station.
