You are so right--there is no one group that can hold a candle to the harmonies that the Brothers Gibb could do. I would say these brothers have as much talent as any group out there in songwriting and singing.

They are the only Band or Group to have No.1's both sides of the Atlantic in 4 different Decades in Music History .... Nobody else has, or probably ever will, achieve that ..... As Artists, Songwriters, Arrangers and Producers their Legacy is intact .....

Back then some people took them very much for granted. It seems, today, though, that people are realizing how truly great they are, and even their critics back then have opened their eyes. I hope Barry sees this

This song reminds me of the Beatles I know that they idealized the Beatles and said that they'd be bigger than the Beatles back when they were beginning in the 60's. I don't really think that they are underrated I just think that we just didn't realize how great they were until more recently. I had no idea how many hits they had for themselves and others. Going back I'm not sure that I would have apreciately them back in the day because I wasn't ready. For me they are THE GREATEST!!!

I agree, they got a lot of fame, recognition and appreciation back then, but the critics really held back. Now, these same critics are repentant, and I hope Barry Gibb sees this hapoening. I agree, they should’ve been talked about in the same light as the Beatles, from the start. I think they were better than the Beatles, and Barry Gibb is just as prolific a songwriter as Paul McCartney.

This was their lead single from the album, To Whom it May Concern, in 1972. Barry sings the lead, while Maurice sings in a low key with Robin in the chorus which is barely audible. Stunning beautiful harmonies that blend into the most powerful burst of heaven. Outstanding
Classic. It chronicles the wishes of a man who longs to be noticed by a broken hearted girl. Maybe Andy Williams is who you're looking for Harri. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin. 👏 👏👏 Amazing classic. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

They are tied at the top with McCartney and Lennon for number of number one hit songs written. They are in the songwriters hall of fame and the rock and roll hall of fame. I'm sure it has been covered too, just can't think of a name tonight. My favorite group in the world. You really should check out Barry's album Greenfields. Well, I looked a bit and didn't find a cover, doesn't mean there isn't one, just that it wasn't liked enough to make song lists. Although the Bee Gees version and the version from Barry's Greenfields album were both there.

I think many people have covered this song, but most notably Barry Manilow and Dionne Warwick did it as a duet, and Marie Osmond covered it on her album This is the Way That I Feel, with all of her brothers singing back up, which actually sounds pretty cool. Though, she changed the lyrics a little, instead of "now and then you need someone older" she says "now and then, if her love grows colder."

Something about respect. Big fans of them were (are) Brian Wilson, Alice Cooper, Bono, Stephen Stills, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, George Martin, Paul Anka and and and and and many, many more great supastars. Elvis, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Status Quo, Take That, Beyonce, Jimmy Sommerville, Jose Feliciano and an endless list of other great singers or groups covered songs of them. They wrote whole albums for Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, The Marbles or Diana Ross. So what's the problem if a bunch of bloody bastard, so called music-experts ever tried to push them under the carpet or US radiostations stopped to give them airplay. Why should an oak be pissed of a wildsow, rubbing it's ass on it? Bee Gees went to eternity because of their genius of art in music. Not to compare at all. That's it, just the truth.

The Beegees underrated in 1972 because, they are British and by that time the audiences hear the Beatles, Roling Stones. All those saying they were underrated obviously didn't know them in the 70s, they were on top of the world. Imo they will never get enough accolades, but I think saying they are underrated is simply not right. Perhaps they weren't as big in the US, but, there is an entire world apart from the US. Susana Hoffs (Bangles) and Matthew Sweet do a nice cover of this on an album called "Under the Covers" (its all covers, and most are very good).

There is nothing like this in today's music. Nothing but pure voices.

You know, Harri, they did not get the full respect they earned and deserved. Especially when the 'disco' era was coming to an end, they were targeted by a subgroup in the music industry (the beginnings of the punk movement) that aimed their anger at the Bee Gees because they were SO PROLIFIC after Saturday Night Live. I believe they had 5 of the 6 very top spots on the charts at that point. Sadly, the BeeGees were forced into the background, but decided to keep writing and selling their music to other famous artists (like Barbra Streisand). Barry wrote the entire 'Guilty' album for her and performed a duet on it. They are truly incredible and I am so happy you appreciate them so fully. Great channel, Harri!

This is, along with Broken Heart and Words, my favorite 3 Bee Gees tunes, but their song catalog is sooo huge there are many more I love. But for emotional reasons, those 3 stand out. Bee Gees are without a doubt one of the greatest song writing teams ever, along with the amazing harmonies, they stand along my angel Karen C. as my two favorite singer/singers of my generation. I have other ones I adore, like Linda R., but the Gibbs and Ms. Carpenter stand out.
