I remember the first time I ever reached hell was the only time, and I somehow beat Yama my first time as well. I was right next to the exit at 1 health and there was a bat right at the end. I dodged it at the end, and beat the hard ending. Excellent game.
I remember playing this game on my laptop during my college days . Finished the game in 2017 , and then during the second half of 2018 was when i was really invested in the game . I got the true ending then and decided to stop as i felt pretty accomplished but later on till early part of 2019 , I managed to finish the game (hell ending) with every character possible .2023 and I saw a thumbnail of spelunky 2 by chance and so decided to just view the old vid for nostalgia sake. This game was what threw me into difficult games (Dead Cells , Dark Souls , Bloodborne , Cuphead ) and now in a short time Sekiro.
That’s amazing haha! Incredible that you were able to grow and master it with every character. Truth be told, I never got back into it after completing this hell run. I went on to play Sekiro and loved it, and just recently getting into Dead Cells. These challenging games can feel the most rewarding to beat, and I’m happy that you found your way through Spelunky! Keep on crushing those games, king. 🏆

Currently been out of college for a few months , thus putting me under a challenge far greater than either of these games 😆😆. Also finished Sekiro in only a week after I posted my message to you . ( Fastest I have completed in any of these difficult games so far) . I am lucky I was able to play Sekiro though in the last month since I have been swamped in getting my degree , applying for my license and all that . And it would seem that I wont be playing any new game in The times to come . However , these games sure did make a point in showing me no matter how daunting a task would appear it would eventually become easier to the point that you will be able to play by your own rules rather than following a frigid safe approach and that failure . Thanks for responding bro means a lot.
@@JumpingJaggi "Meh". I'll see if I have time, but TBH, I got other games I want to sink time into. FWIW, I initially wrote this game off quickly, but ended up coming back to it again and again. Got the shortcut to Ice Caves, then the Temple. Recent Daily Run, I almost beat the Temple boss!
@@zxKAOS1 fair, it took me multiple years of coming back to this for maybe a month or two and then giving up. Eventually one of the times I beat temple, and then from there I returned another time and made it to hell. Not something I’d play in my free time, but definitely a fun challenge to try every now and then!
For that entire minute I kept trying to slow down and relax and things kept happening, the shopkeeper bit was all luck- I was mashing buttons hoping the pain would stop 😂
To get the true ending, you have to enter the door found inside the totem. To do this, I use the golden Ankh item to revive myself and when I revive myself on this specific level with the totem, it takes me inside.

Yeah it's one hell of a ride, congrats on being able to say you beat it! I still haven't been able to complete it a second time haha.
I got a 1-2 jetpack which pretty much carried the whole run
So yeah In the meantime I’ve beaten hell 3 more times, one being a max hell run
