- After Effects CC 2022: How To Create Line Boil Text Effect
This tutorial will show you how to create a line boil or ‘jiggle’ effect on Text Layers (or other graphics)l in Adobe After Effects CC 2022.
Line Boil Effect:This occurs when frames of an animation are out of alignment so it creates an imperfect ‘jiggle’ which is great for stop-motion or hand-drawn animations.
Font Used In Tutorial:
Londrina Solid (fonts.google.c...)
Keyboard Shortcut:Tap EE to reveal all expressions
Expressions Used:time*100

How To Create The Line Boil Effect on a Text Layer in Adobe After Effects CC 2022:
1. Create a New Composition (cmd/ctrl + N)
2. Click on ‘Type Tool’ and enter text
3. Align to Center of Comp
4. Select Text Layer
5. Go to Effects & Presets and search for ‘Turbulent Displace’
6. Drag ‘Turbulent Displace’ on the Type in the Comp Window
7. Select Type Layer in the Layers Pane and Go to ‘Effect Controls’
8. For Amount, enter 10
9. For Size, Enter 6
10. Twirl open ’Evolution Options’
11. Press the Option (Mac) or Alt (PC) and click on the stopwatch next to ‘Random Seed’
12. Enter the Expression: time*100 and press the Spacebar to preview the animation
How To Create Add Posterize Time to Expression (for Stop Motion look):
1. Tap EE to reveal all expressions
2. Click in the Expression for ‘Random Seed’
3. Move cursor before the Time Expression
4. Type posterizeTime(4)…or enter desired Frames per Second in the parentheses
5. Enter Semicolon after posterizeTime
6. Type in time*100
7. Final Expression: posterizeTime(4);time*100
8. Press Spacebar to Preview

Hey! Is it possible to apply the same line boil effect to a normal video or a TH-cam short, not just to text? Maybe like NaturalHabitatShorts channel has? I'm interested in achieving a similar dynamic, animated look for video content.
I was not familiar with those videos, but I took a look and they look great, but it’s fully animated. There is a ‘line boil’ or wiggle style applied, but it’s more than one effect applied to the whole video. It’s a little more complex than the example I showed for the text in the tutorial. I’m sure you could recreate the look and it would be awesome project, but will be involved and take a series of animation treatments and effects. Hope that makes sense, but if you have questions let me know. 👍
When I type in the is automatically deleted that thing over"posterize time(4)" the "time *100" is automatically deleted then the whole thing doesn't work
Can you clarify the exact steps you are taking and the issue you are having as I do not understand your description.
Press Option or Alt and then click on the stopwatch next to Random Seed and the enter:
posterizeTime(6);
time*100
(Change the numbers to your preferred speeds) 👍

How do increase the strength?
Much is about trial and error and changing the values to get the look you want and as for the strength of the line boil, try increasing the Time Expression to a higher number such as time*250 or time*500

Can you please clarify what you are asking or what you are wanting to do? After Effects does not have a mobile app at this time.
Are you wanting to create a Line Boil effect on your phone or tablet? For that, you may want to use an app such as Adobe Fresco or Procreate.
