The Smallrig cage was the first accessory I purchased for my ZV-E10, because I have the hands of a surgeon……..well, that’s what she said. 🤣 Thanks for the tips! 🍻
I can't find the original video where you talked about it, but I just wanted to come back and thank you, again, for making us all a little better. I was in a situation today where I was interviewing a government official, and the wind was whipping through downtown like crazy. My rode micro wasn't going to keep up, but I'd just gotten the comica c3 lav mics for father's day, based on your recommendation. Problem solved. Just wanted to come back once again and thank you for your videos.

Hi Mark! If I could ask here for a little advice in choosing an ND filter for my zv-e10.. I have just started my lens collection and I have Viltrox 23mm f1.4 (which I really like!) - it has 52mm filter thread. I occasionally shoot photos and videos, especially during holidays - so I definitely should have a variable ND filter, following your great recommendation 😄 However, I struggle choosing the variability range! Should I go for 2-400 range, or 8-2000? Or something else entirely..? In short - which variable ND filter would you recommend as the most versatile for all-round enthusiast use? (Sorry for this lengthy question!)
I used to shoot news and do some client work with a camcorder. I'm pretty solid with the theory of mirrorless cameras and I'm looking for my first mirrorless camera for business explainers, FAQ videos, how to videos, and "about me" videos. Do you think the ZV E10 would be a good first camera for that or should I go higher end? I thought I could start collecting lenses and accessories and then move to something like an FX30. I'm also looking at a Fuji X-S20.
Hi Mark, Thank you for this amazing video! One Question: which one do i get if my budget is around 200 EUR, portkeys pt6 or pt5 ii? in other words is pt6 is a good step up from pt5ii, and is like buy once and not twice?
Great video as always, I see you weren't thirsty today though ;) I've purchased quite a few of these accessories, the final one I am looking for is a neck strap.. One that you can just clip onto Dougie in a matter of seconds and not waste time threading it through the camera. Do you have a recommendation?
By Chance do you have the ECM-M1? Trying to find out if it enables 4 channel audio for the ZV-E10 mark 1, the menu only appears if you connect it and there's misleading information on Sonys website :(
OK I have a question. I'm the official "Filming dad" for our daughter's soccer team and basically just stand at the center sidelines and video the games. They'll go for about an hour and a half and I've been using a gopro but the ability to see at the ends of the field leaves a lot to be desired so I'm wanting to use my ZVe10 I just got to film the games. From what I've seen testing, the battery will not last the whole game and I do have an Anker power bank with PD power but I'm trying to think of a semi-elegant way of mounting that thing to either the camera (assuming I use the small rig cage) or somehow to the tripod. Any ideas? I just had it laying on the ground with a long USB c cable going up to the gopro last season but if it's wet or muddy, I'd have to just cram it half way into my pocket or something and do that.
Hey Mark, I am another one of those folks that bought the ZV-E10, based on your videos. Yup, still watching. I did end up picking up one of those K&F ND2-N32 variable ND to use with my 16mm f/1.4 Sigma. Jeez b'y, you might have mind control over my purchases. Rich yet? In any case, I find with the variable ND, stopped right down, there might be a minor cast to slightly warmer colours. What do you think? Get off the AWB? Or am I actually seeing what I think?
Hi wondering if I was buying this camera for taking photo/video of my family, should I opt for just the body and then buy the Sony 11mm f1.8 lens? Or is it worth having the kit lens on top? Would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you
the 11 is really wide - so I would suggest you get the kit lens - you'll probably upgrade from it eventually but you can figure out what focal length you like. Or - if you don't need really wide shots - you can skip both the 11 and the kit lens get the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 and that will give you great results
What lens I should buy for my zv e10 if I'm looking for sharp great quality images only with a bit wide angel like taking pics in front of touristic places such as eiffel tower? Thanks i love ur videos 😊
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you very much for your reply!!! When I said taking pics like of myself or family not just the buildings. Do u think this would do the job for having myself on the pic sharp? Or should I go for sigma 16? Thanks again!!!!
The sigma 16 might work but it will be a little tight on your face. You can also try the viltox 13. It's a big lens - but wide enough for what you want.
I wonder if zv-e10 slow-mo on pc looks better than on youtube. I wanna use it for car edits. For now i rolled them with gopro (2.7k 120fps) and i'm not sure if gopro slow-mo wasn't even smoother than zv-e10 compared to some clips on youtube. The only thing gopro is lacking is the bokeh and you can't get clear image when you are close to objects e.g. car logo. That's the main reason i consider buying sony camera. And also can you tell me how zv-e10 focus works with shooting cars?
Hi Mark, what do you think about pairing dougie to Ninja v? A bit overkill? Do you know if you can use a tentacle track e direct in the ninja v so you still can use the mic input in the zv-e10?
I use the Ninja V all the time with Dougie. But the Track E is a standalone recorder so you don't plug it into the mic jack. If you were plugging a lab in - you can use the Ninja yes.
The one I linked has a hard stop - in other words, you won't get the dreaded cross pattern. It doesn't have individual hard stops - it has one at the end so you don't go too far.
Not paid, just a good cage. If you want to rig out your camera, you’ll need a cage and this one is my fav, but you don’t need it unless you plan to mount a lot of accessories or make it a cinema type rig. Also, I should note, it’s illegal to be paid for product placement and not disclose it. Anyone who does that runs the risk of losing their channel
The bottom of the cage is actually arca-swiss compatible. So any tripod that takes arca-swiss will be fine. But if you are trying to use it with a quick release plate, there are screw holes at the bottom of the cage can fit the 1/20 of a quick release plate
Great comprehensive list. I know you did not curate this from an interview perspective, but max heights of Ulanzi tripods at 160cm are just too low in my book. Do not know your height but might not even be useable in your own studio. If travel is only landscape of course no issue. Just my 2cents.
Being a travel tripod it doesn’t extend too high, but I’ve personally never had the need to ever extend it over 5 feet whether that’s in photo or video. It is my main studio tripod. I usually leave it at about 3 feet as I am sitting in the studio.
