Hermitcraft season 9 episode 41! We are back on Hermitcraft for a mega expansion of the front of Scarland with new trees and flower designs. Mumbo, Grain, and I create the Buttercups group to counter Doc in the Hermitcraft prank war. We build an HQ base for the ButterCup. We also get pranked by Doc with 1000s of Dragon Eggs scattered all over our bases. Scarland is completely covered with Dragon Eggs. How do you clean up all their Eggs?

Make your eggs a mini game. You know how you go Easter egg hunting? Have the Hermits come and give them a time limit. Maybe 3 or 5 minutes. And the person who collects (cleans) the most eggs gets a prize!

One easy option for egg cleanup is covering the solid surfaces with moss carpets, then right click the eggs. They'll teleport, land on the carpets, and pop off. Then use water bucket to clean up the carpets

That would take even longer than just pushing them all separately with pistons

the one problem being that placing so many carpets is not easy either. May as well just teleport them beneath the ground
most of scarland's main street is slabs, I think, so he'd really only have to cover the sidewalks and bushes
If he had some help, they could probably place them down and clean them up in an hour

The slimeblocks couldn't break the eggs, because they were sticking to the grass. if you build your flying machine 1 block up, with regular blocks under it (say Quartz blocks sticking to the slime), then it will break all the eggs.
YEAHHH I was so sad when he just thought he had to do it manually... I'm no redstone whiz, but i at least know about slime sticking to blocks and the piston push limit...

The reason the dragon eggs didn't break with the slimeblock wasn't because dragon eggs can't be broken with slimeblocks, but because the slimeblock was trying to push the ground under it, which led into a line of too many blocks for a piston to push. Build a small flying machine one block above the ground and put a single row of non-slime blocks under it, and it will move and clear dragon eggs on flat ground with no problem. Mumbo should be able to help.
I was looking for this, I was sure I couldn't be the first person to want to point that out. Flat ground shouldn't be too bad to clear.
And it can be countered simply by placing the slime one block above and putting any movable block under the slime, make that a fly machine and it can sweep the roads.

One note, made certain to place obsidian or furnaces around any armor stands on the streets when using flying machines.
(Mumbo, Impulse, Tango, Doc, or Xisuma can help build them out)
I know it’s a small thing, but I love hearing scar put things off in order to spend time with his family. He sounds so excited to see his brother and it’s really heart warming and nice to see him putting mental health over us
Quick solution for the eggs. Custom texture that makes them invisible, can't be a problem if you can't see them! 😂
When you realize this all started because Grian didn't want to finish the back of his base😂

The more you look at it the buttercups seem more like a girl scout troop than anything else, you've got the tents, cute troop name, troop greeting, a mascot, and now you're selling cookies to fund the buttercups... I love it.
AND they're cleaning/protecting the environment from littering (eggs).
and as all girl scouts they are facing a higly intelligent goat that knows ways to carpet bomb everything into oblivion.
There is a buttercup division/level of Girl Scouts like being a freshman/sophomore/senior in school

buttercups are poisonous to more than just goats though. Very dangerous to put into cookies.

I have a funny feeling when people explore the world download at the end of the season, they will still find some dragon eggs hidden in the nooks of scarland.

You should turn it into a contest. Put like a 1 hour time limit for several hermits to see who could break the most eggs. For the prize you could offer diamonds, free builds, discounts, or Mumbo could do a redstone build.

Okay this one is fun. I’ve been missing the content as opposed to torturing each other. I was hoping that doc would like trap Grian with a kicking machine and they’d have to do a rescue mission. Maybe Grian logs on as that version of Grian but with a mustache from the hardcore series.

You should retexture spider eyes or pufferfish into buttercups so u can give them to doc.

Egg Cleanup: I would put as many torches down as possible both aboveground and belowground, anywhere within 15 blocks of a dragon egg. Once you've done that, go and punch all the eggs. They'll teleport, land on a torch and break.
Torch cleanup is trival afterwards. Just pour some water.

@@redex3036 Water doesn't work (I just tested in 1.20.1). One way you used to be able to clear out all the water in an ocean monument was using dragon eggs. You could dump a couple of shulkers of them on the ground, then speed-place them like Doc&Ren did and it would remove all the water within 15 blocks.

Water would be a good alternative and easier cleanup
Put a secret tunnel system under Scarland like Disneyland has. For the mascots to get from one point of the park to another and you could have a secret base under there if you want.
In case no one has told you Scar, you have done an absolute AMAZING job with Scarland. Your attention to detail is unmatched I love it just as much as you do💚

Oh my, and try to get doc to eat one, devious.
Have two versions, a cookie or golden carrot that's retextured (like the other cookies he made) and a raw pufferfish that's retextured. The Buttercups can eat the normal cookie version to show that it's safe to eat, then give one to Doc but have it be the pufferfish variant, indistinguishable (unless he has F3 + H enabled and can see the internal item id).
This is the most literal interpretation of "Egging someone's house" that I've ever seen.

I just realised how much Scar’s outfit, without the vest, looks like an airplane pilot and now I can’t unsee it.
The fact that Scar can go 14 years playing one game shows how amazing Minecraft is and how crazy how Scars building skills have developed over the years! To 14 years and more!

That might take some real convincing, since the only reason multiple dragon eggs exist in the first place is because Grian "borrowed" the original from Pearl. He brought this mess upon himself, in more ways than one.

Scar, your flying machine idea to remove the eggs is a good one, eggs can be pushed by slime blocks, the problem is that since they were touching the dirt blocks below, they were trying to push more than the piston push limit and would not go.
i suggested he build it a block up and place slabs or another movable block to "sweep"
would be real sweeping if he used hay bales

For the flatter areas use Mumbo's pumpkin farm flying machine. Pistons firing down.
Doc mentioned something about water streams being a possibility but I don't know if it's just as simple splash or if they need to be finagled somehow

Yeah I heard Doc mention this. Seems like the easiest method if you’re away from landscaping.
Since you're a buttercup, Scar, you could clean up the dragon eggs using flower power. Placing single cherry blossom petals to cover the area around the eggs, and then tapping the eggs, would allow them to be picked up. Then petals can be easily cleaned up after via water bucket. Moss carpet also works the same way. Loved the video, as always. Hope you're enjoying the time with your brother💜

If you spam right click the eggs, it would statistically take only a few passes before all the eggs teleport under ScarLand, with each pass taking half as long as the previous. Thar would probably be the fastest option.

As someone who’s currently visiting Disneyworld right now, there’s legit been moments walking around magic kingdom where I find myself thinking “this looks just like scarland!” and it’s truly amazing!! The love and care Scar is putting into this is palpable, and I couldn’t love it more!

it's crazy to me how scar continues to Accidentally build mob farms in his bases yet every time I try to intentionally build one it either destroys itself or I die trying to destroy it because I've Accidentally turned it into a mob army spawner
a thought for cleaning the eggs up: spam torches around them and then click 'em, they might fall on the torches and break super easy and you can clean the torches with water?
Looks like someone needs to call the cleaning lady. It might cost you a fortune though, assuming Pearl would even take the job.

Well Both Scar and Mumbo do have a stack of 64 diamond blocks each so she might clean it up for two stacks of diamond blocks
If they do rope Pearl into getting rid of the eggs, I hope she asks for context. Then I hope she either names a large price of diamonds, or says no flat out. There's not enough diamonds on the server to get rid of x amount of dragon eggs.

If using a piston to push an egg, place a button on it instead of using a redstone block. It'll save you the step of breaking a redstone block each time you use it.
You guys should cover the perimeter with grass and add a Buttercup Village like there was never a hole there, it would be so funny! And then add more chickies :)))
You need to use the slime blocks from the top to destroy the dragon eggs. The issue was the piston trying to push all the grass underneath

Exactly. Build a flying machine one further up and put some blocks underneath to sweep up the eggs. I'm sure Mumbo can help.
the method he was t hinking of, would have worked, but as someone said, you need it a block higher with a block below the slime.

The best solution I can think of is to put carpet around the eggs and teleport them so they fall onto the carpet.
Then take water to easily remove the carpet.
As the person who suggested that to Doc, I would like to formally apologize to you, Scar. I didn't think he would actually do it...

I recently went to Disneyland with my family, and it's crazy how similar it is to your base! Honestly though your base is better, but the resemblance was there, it felt like I was walking through your base down main street and I loved it
I hope the end of this war comes with a tutorial by Mumbo on how to replicate the tunnel bore and then mumbo, grian and scar fixing it. Getting to see Mumbo herding Grian and Scar like cats while doing redstone would be fantastic.

For the dragon eggs, hire Pearl's cleaning services
two methods:
1. slab/button/ trapdoor/any non full block the area 31x5x31 around each egg and then go around clicking every egg, then fill in the holes and repeat till there out of the way
2.the "Minecraft Dragon Egg Destroyer" by Rock Tunnel
3. TNT
I wonder if there's a possible Zedvancement for making the largest Dragon Egg omelet. Would require him to break a lot of Dragon Eggs all at once...

You should know that Doc showed a phenomenal amount of restraint and even had Rendog on a leash by only egg-bombing main-street and not targeting any of the buildings whatsoever.
yeahhh doc was telling ren to stop lmao also the castle was all rendog. cuz doc said he was gonna spare the castle lmao and restrained himself from making the cleanup job absolutely impossible. i mean doc had about 100k dragon eggs at his disposal at the moment of the prank. he only spread several thousand instead of 10s of thousands of eggs

Don't challenge him to top this. Dude has a walking TNT cannon, an anvil launcher, and an arrow accelerator that can 1 shot a warden and/or break full netherite armor. Pushing him to go with a nuclear option is a bad idea.
And let's not ignore the charged creeper launcher...

The reason why the slime didn't move was because it was also attached to the ground. So use normal blocks to clear out the eggs with slime attached on top. You could do around 6 eggs using this method since pistons can only push 12 blocks at a time(i think anyways).

To get rid of the eggs, I would sell a dragon egg as an IOU to either of the museum duo. Make sure they don't know about the egg prank before hand. Then immediately use the IOU on an egg clearing service.
You could release a bunch of Snow Golems, wait a couple of days for them to cover everything, and then just teleport the eggs around. The eggs should drop as an item when they land on snow layers, and you can clean up snow layers easily by placing light sources.
Scar, placing light sources? Have you seen his videos? 😅

@@flutterin4595 It only melts if the light level is 12 or higher. That said, I thought it was 7 or so, it being 12 makes water a much more practical way to clear the snow than lighting is.

If only there was a hermit who runs a cleaning business and a Mumbo with all the diamonds on the server... that would make it so easy for the buttercups to get rid of the eggs.

oh scar. oh no no no no no no. scar, the dramatic, even cosmic irony that is watching the intro to this video *right* after watching doc’s dragon egg prank video. the emotional whiplash i got from basking in the most satisfying malicious glee with doc to the complete shattering of these emotions after hearing you go on about how important this park is to you and how happy you are that it’s finally clean and you’re ready to work on your next big project-
i cannot express the guilt, dread, terror and pain in my heart knowing how much this prank will hurt specifically you and grian.
i also would like to take a moment to appreciate that mumbo is probably gonna be the least affected by this due to you blowing up his base already anyways so he can always just, blow up the eggs, plus doc did mostly follow mumbo’s rules of paying diamonds to break into his base and being able to take whatever from it if you do, doc using diamond ore to make the tnt cannon below the base seems close enough to me lol
1. Cover up a big area surrounding the eggs with carpets (it's easy to place carpets with auto clicker, doc used one to place eggs so you don't even have to feel bad to use that)
2. Right click on the eggs
3. They will teleport to those carpets and break (some of them won't break, right click again on those to get rid of them)
4. Use water to remove carpets
As an alternative to the carpet, how about snow? Then he can use snow golems. Not sure if snow can be removed with water though

I think Scar should just straight up cover up Doc's flag with a model of the sky. Like, stick blue and white blocks directly onto the Scarland side of it. This would be a good time to do it

Absolutely not! That dragon is up there and shouldn't be messed with. It's insanely difficult to keep it maintained like it currently is and defacing the flag would be close enough to alter the dragon flight path because every turn it does around the flag, it would try to target them but because of redstone magic and game mechanics stay tethered until eventually bit by bit it gets far enough away to fully target them and then all hell breaks loose and doc has to start all over to get a new dragon because that one won't be able to get reset up there once it's pathfinding is free. No one wants the ender dragon loose
@@RedDragon91 so long as the dragon doesn't get damaged nothing should happen to make the AI be hostile again.
Plus the dragon is above the flag on purpose, so widening the flag by 1 block wouldn't do anything.
@@RedDragon91 Well about that I was curious and did some testing and went though the same process doc did to get a dragon into the overworld (using the tutorial made by Igna778 in a 1.19 world, 1.20 seems to require a slightly different method) and moved it far from spawn, and surprisingly hitting it doesn't even do anything. So I'm pretty sure the fears about the dragon are unfounded. Maybe docm is just being super cautious since if anything were to go wrong it would go catastrophically wrong, or during his testing it did actually fly towards 0,0 when damaged but I didn't see that behaviour.
For the eggs:
1. That’s a lot of free lamps/other decorations
2. For big flat areas, Get mumbo to make flying machines with blocks beneath. They will swipe over the land breaking many of the eggs!
The flying machine idea wasn't bad! The reason it didn't work wasn't because slime can't push dragon eggs, it's because the slime blocks were sticking onto the ground (i.e, the piston is trying to push the entire floor of dirt, which is way over the 12 block push limit)
it could easily be fixed by moving the slime blocks one block up and having a row of normal blocks below them that they would drag along as they're pushed, and those blocks would be the ones to push into the dragon eggs and break them

at 14:20, it's because the slime is trying to push all the grass below, which is much more than 12 blocks
Egg mess looks like a job for hermits helping hermits. All hands on deck type situation since Doc and Ren placed something in the magnitude of at least a full inventory of stacks of eggs and that's just... unreasonable
