- Hermitcraft season 9 episode 37! This is not the episode I had planned for Hermitcraft today. I got distracted by Grian not finding the backside of the base and ended up in Docm77s base and things went really bad after finding his tunnel-boring redstone machine and accidentally blowing it up. The TNT was unforgiving. Grian and I tried our best to fix it and give him a gift. I can't believe this happened!! See you in the next episode when we tell Doc we broke his tunnel bore machine.

Cleo adding the wheelchair (and the cane!!) is so amazing. Hermitcraft really is so amazingly caring and supportive. Scarland having representation of disability makes me feel included, warm and fuzzy.

@@DarBibkus more than just being worried about Doc's revenge, they all know how hard everyone works on their builds. Shenanigans are fun, but nobody sets out to destroy someone else's work, especially if they don't know how to fix it. Doc's been off sick, too, he's just had covid again and then had really bad dental pain - this might have been recorded before that but if not, accidentally blowing up somebody's build that you really shouldn't have been touching is enough to make anyone feel awful, but when while they're sick just makes it worse.

OH MY GOD SO TRUE
as someone who uses a wheelchair with a partner that uses a cane, Cleo's inclusion of both in Scarland made me cry a lot. Cleo tells stories of ordinary people of all kinds enjoying the delights of a beautiful theme park and it warms my heart. we all deserve to experience the joys of going on a cool vacation and i'm delighted to see that Cleo includes us in these little vignettes throughout Scarland.
i love how genuinely terrified they seemed
i mean doc is the guy with infinite rockets, can drop anvils at any exact coordinates, has a bunch of hostage dragons, and is somehow nearly as rich as mumbo
1. Mumbo inefficiently lays out his copper for aging.
2. Grian decides to take the mick out of Mumbo for doing so by building a copper pillar on top of his base.
3. Mumbo gets revenge by taking the copper and using it to build a small Statue of Liberty on top of Grian's base.
4. Grian decides he's going to retaliate and escalate, so he starts gathering a ton of copper, stumbling across Doc's Tunnel Bore in the process.
5. Grian says hi to the other hermits as he's preparing to smelt the copper ore, making a seemingly harmless joke about the back of his base.
6. The other hermits take it seriously and stage an intervention in order to get Grian working on the Back of his Base.
7. Grian starts getting increasingly stressed and anxious, so he tries to distract his friends by mentioning The Bore.
8. Scar, having the attention span of Golden Retriever, says he actually kinda wants to see The Bore.
9. Grian jumps on the chance to escape and takes Scar to The Bore.
10. "The Incident" happens.
This entire string of events is like that meme with a tiny domino knocking down progressively bigger dominoes.
It's like a well written script
So basically, this is all Mumbo's fault ٩(๑`^´๑)۶

This episode is the adhd cycle in a nutshell. Procrastination, followed by Grian lashing out in anger, moving to exhaustion once he started working only to immediately getting distracted. Then finally the inevitable disaster followed up by frantic apologies. It is like watching two of my kids.

Doc is going to be mad, that's a given, but the really scary part is that he is going to make scar and grian help him rebuild the machine, and here it comes, my biggest fear: Grian and Scar are going to learn how to make TNT-dupers...

The man has an ender dragon in the overworld as a pet and an anvil cannon that can travel hundreds of blocks in a single tick with pinpoint to a specific block accuracy. Not to mention his arrow cannon that can 1 shot anything. 😂 he's an evil genius. But hes got a good heart lmao scarland is his happy place. Its grian who should be more worried than scar tbh 🤣
I came here specifically to see Scar's reaction to the family with the wheelchair and I'm so glad I did - watching Cleo work on making that on stream was amazing, but seeing how much it meant to Scar is even better. Cleo is really making pure magic

The wheelchair was very definitely made using four picaxes twirled around to create each wheel. Very sweet, very creative, that was heartwarming to see Scar's reaction~

I genuinely did tear up a little bit. It was touching to see Scar so touched
It is super endearing that Grian and Scar are genuinely sorry and actually ARE trying their best. Grian gave up a dragon egg and Scar is trying to recreate the machine. There will likely be retribution, but Doc wouldn’t be genuinely angry. Everyone is too wholesome for that.
But... it gives an opportunity for a new storyline. There will be a war!
If he got really upset about it, he would've stopped playing with Scar and Grian years ago 😆

2- They did not blow up Docs Anvil Sniper (that would have made a giant hole probably eating Grains and some other bases too)
I can imagine doc was pretty irritated when he found out, or pretty gutted, but at the same time, all of them appreciate the entertainment value and the income having drama in their series brings. Besides, I think he was done with it for a while anyway, and he's constantly pushing the limits of minecraft engineering, so he's used to things imploding or exploding

I think reasonable, achievable compensation for breaking Doc's tunnel bore would be replacement of all materials destroyed by the explosion, and to collect/purchase the materials for Doc's next project as a way to make up for the time cost of rebuilding the machine. Just my opinion, but that would cover both the loss in time and resources resulting from the incident, and is also within Scar and Grian's abilities (which rebuilding the thing probably isn't, at least right now -- it's complicated redstone contraption, learning that stuff takes time).

@@andalilbitqueer I believe currently whether it's acceptable or not depends on the context and the regional dialect - generally speaking 'handicapped' is mainly considered offensive in UK English, while in most other dialects it's mainly somewhat old fashioned or outdated in favour of 'disabled'. Though, there are still quite a few people who prefer it over the newer term on the basis that its general meaning is less severe - 'handicapped' referring to being hindered or limited in some way while 'disabled' refers to something or someone who entirely lacks (the) ability (to do something). So currently, both are in use though 'handicapped' is steadily falling out of favour.

God this episode was so eventful. I know breaking Sam's boring machine is what everyone talks about, but Scar dying at the start, the intervention with Grian, the milk conversation, the irl section where Scar barricades himself against Doc, and even just that sweet moment with him seeing the wheelchair Cleo made were all perfect.

Cleos’s inclusivity always makes me feel less weird, and less like something to be gawked at, I use a cane and as a young person I always get yelled at/stared at, it always feels like I’m not meant to be in those spaces (even if I know I am) so seeing her add canes, and wheelchairs, it never ceases to make me smile (if everything goes well I’ll be getting a wheelchair in the next couple months as well), so I totally get what you mean about nearly crying about the wheelchair, as a fellow mobility aid user, I get it.
same 100%! as a fellow young cane user i had to pause at seeing the armor stand with the cane and then the wheelchair one. i appreciate cleo so for this it means a lot to me to see people like me being represented as being part of scarland :]

I use a staff and often my wheelchair. I was tired of being stared at (I have RSD so it always hits me hard) so I decided to decorate the heck out of both of my tools. Now when people stare, it is at my chair or staff, not me. I get a lot of people saying they love my staff especially. Maybe you can do something like that too if you think it would help you
When you see Grian and Scar post I did a bad thing and the incident at around the same time, you know its gonna be a great episode

the glazed terracotta was necessary, not because its immovable, it IS moveable, but it's non-stick, and wont stick to the slime, it'll only get pushed, helping with the redstone.
