That switch is called a VOES switch ( vacuum operated electrical switch), it advances timing after startup as vacuum is pulled. May or not be needed depending on ignition system u have. On the stock system there was a vacuum line to the carb.
@@WrenchingWrecked An automotive vacuum advance operates mechanically. The VOES advances the timing electronically. It is just an ON/OFF switch that closes a circuit when vacuum is pulled.
For sure change them manifold seals….. bottom gas tank mount bolts onto the frame… don’t forget the rubber bushings when ya put it back on…. You are right s and s makes taller bracket for stock inner length cables…. Keep the bike! Looks like ya got plenty of room..
Thank you. The garage seems like there's room, but there's lots of other bikes scattered amongst the others. This may be a keeper, but that's a decision for the Mrs.
Good to see you put those girls back on the road, including the old gerillie.Just bought a 77 Iron head xlh rough shape and more money I would have spent. Not much originall.so lm going to Bob it.
I'll try and take a closer look for you. I know next to nothing about the evo's in terms of numbers/makes/models, besides softail vs wideglide. I'll look into it and let you know.
Those evos are amazing. All i buy. Change the intake seals. They can cause issues. Inner cam bearing and lifters just for a piece of mind
I just finished up the intake seals. I'll get it ripping around the block and add cam bearing to the list after some initial miles. Thanks!

👍👍👍
Thank you! That's what I was thinking. So it should work similar to the vacuum advance on a distributor in a car I assume?

I ain't mad at the softtail I love my Fatboy!!! Cant wait to see that one come together!!!!
Thanks! Just going for road worthy for now.
Really enjoy watching you get these old harleys running
Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I like chopping up the old sporties too. It's a much cheaper price point. I love my shovels too, but ironheads are fun!
The piece on the motor mount looks like a vacuum advance. Could be wrong.
That's what I was thinking, but I've never had a bike with one so was hoping someone here could steer me in the right direction. Thanks!
You going to Woodstock on the 21st ?
I'll be out there for sure. Never miss the Woodstock ones.
Good day. I’m interested in knowing what exact model that is off the Vin number? If it was a softail custom? Or a modified out Fatboy? Etc. thanks

Believe it's an fxstc. 95% certain. Unless someone took a fatboy or heritage and converted it but can't see anyone doing that
😎👍😎
Thanks Jerry!
somebody is a geker
That would explain a lot.. But not here.
just to be on the safe safe side never be any hanier then to replace them old dried out manifold seals!
I think I have a set in the box. I may swap those out now too before the tanks go on. Good looking out Brian!
