      This isn't s big deal for some people cause some weren't in totality so it wasn't that great

    • @JD198276
      @JD198276 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      People that were on the center line, seen the full advantage to totality, it was quite eerie and than it went dark and the ring appeared, it was an experience that was better than fireworks ever thought about being, people who does not get to see this, is really missing out, I wish they had more of them, it was so freaking awesome to see. I would def travel to see this again in 2024. The cameras has not done it justice unless you were there personally in the moment.

      If you see the eclipse in real life and you don't care then you have some serious mental issues. This eclipse was the coolest thing I've ever seen and I watched my Patriots make that super bowl comeback in Houston.

      We drove down from the north side of Chicago to Marion, IL for it. Absolutely incredible and what a memory. I plan on seeing the next one in 2024 but not sure where yet. It will be a weather related thing but hotels will be tricky to find. Got to make it work!

    I was at Smith's Ferry Idaho to the west of Idaho Falls. What I saw was the pre-crescent go down to small red, dim sliver then an explosion of light burst through the sky. I didn't see that happen in this video. That initial burst, captured by my camera :), was the best part of the eclipse for me. It certainly was a better visual than the departing, second diamond ring. Glad I took the road I did and didn't turn right to go to Idaho Falls. By the way, I couldn't have come up with a better location than the mountains of Idaho to view an eclipse. Gorgeous!!!

    I wish I had been lucky enough to see this! I actually took a bus across Canada and the US to Nashville to see this, even got a telescope lens for my camera and a solar filter, and I only saw about 80% of it before a giant cloud rolled in and I missed all of totality. Spent about half an hour waiting for that cloud to go away. So disappointing. I did see Venus though, when the light went away. There was a dramatic 360 degree sunset followed by a 360 degree sunrise effect and the city's lights all came on, that part was pretty cool. It's just too bad I couldn't see the eclipse as well. Now I'll have to wait 7 years for the next one.

    show the people, then turn to the sun briefly when it's in total. we want to see the area and the people go from bright to dark back to bright. seeing the people of a given location makes the video unique. the moon eclipsing the sun is something i can pull up anytime on a nasa website in HD.

    Im so glad i live in south carolina and got to go to the nearby remote town nobody knows about i just pulled over on the side of the road and enjoyed this without the ridiculous crowds and yelling tourist esk atmosphere. There was only like 4 people because nobody knew about the town let alone the spot. We were basically at the center of the path of totality without tue crowds of screaming people cheering because muh eclipse.

    The sun is 400,000 times brighter than a full moon.
    This means that if the moon is covering 99.9% of the sun, the remaining 0.1% of the sun that you can see (i.e. the 'diamond ring' effect) is still 400 times brighter than a full moon.
