- In this project video, we are making a Leather Lanyard Phone Wallet.
This is a great step up leather crafting project that will show you how to make one of these simple clutch type wallets that also have a pocket for a cell phone.
We do offer a pattern pack for this project that includes all the patterns for cutting out the parts as well as a variety of floral tooling patterns. This pattern will allow you to create one of these and customize them to fit your needs.
If you would like to purchase one of these pattern packs, use the links below to the products on our website. If you are in the United States, we recommend buying the PRINTED version since this is a Large Format Print. If you purchase the DIGITAL version, you will have to take the file to a print shop to have it printed out on a Large Format Printer.

Great video, Don. And a fantastic project. Looking forward to adding this to the list
Don, I liked the use of the dental pick on the feathers. I'll have to go out to my Millwright box I use them for "o"rings. Thanks also for the tip on folding up the zipper, that alone was worth the watch.😉
I would absolutely buy every one of your patterns if you made them in acrylic
I've ordered your template and just finished my first one! Just in time for my wife s Christmas gift. Thanks, Don; your videos are exactly what I needed.
Great video Don!
I wet formed one for my phone several months ago. So much easier than I expected. Some stitching, some rivets, love it.
Mine hangs on my chest to keep my hands free when I'm listening to music, videos or talking. Keeps my hands free to make leather projects.
I would suggest marking your block with the phone type. In case you need it again.
Just received your the corners and the belt patterns books. Absolutely love them.
Thank you for all you do and for sharing / teaching.
Blessed Holidays to you and yours.
I used to think that owning a luxury bag was an unattainable dream, until kislux told me that this dream is actually very close. The sense of fashion comes not only from the brand, but also from personal matching and attitude.
Hey Don, absolutely amazing. Have you thought about getting together with Aaron Maker's Leather and making them phone blocks out of acrylic like the ranger billet ends. Different sizes and thicknesses for different phones.
Appreciate your videos
Another great video, can't wait to make a few of these. I agree about those EverBrite YYK zippers from MLS. They slide so easy they makes zippers almost fun (almost).
Don you certainly made it look easy!
Another great video. I would like to add that silver pen refills are available on Amazon and are interchangeable with the Tandy leather marker pin.
Received the pattern, will start soon! Thanks.
Nice.Glad you said you had to do 3-4 to get it the way you wanted it.Cause I do too.
Great video, I’m trying to figure which projects to put on the back burner to start making this. Maybe in a week or two. I do have one question. what is the thing that you are rubbing the stitch lines with?
Don, I’ve been looking for an anvil like the one you used to set the rivet, do you know where I might find one like that?
I also mix in fakes and change my bags every day when I go out. I previously bought a WOC Caviar dupe on the kislux and I loved it, but I wasn't going to pay $3500 + tax for such a small bag/SLG.
Could you make the forming block out of wood?
Don, What speed do you have the skivers running at?
I have a I-phone 13 Max pro. Will this fit if not how to adjust fit. Thanks
Wet mold, I would think. Place your phone in Saran Wrap then wet mold
Can you please tell me the finished dimensions of this Lanyard Phone Wallet? Thanks!
Does anyone know where he got that little bench skiing tool?
Leather machine co.
@ thank you!
@ 👍
Love this pattern. I had thought that wet forming after tooling would ruin the tooling but apparently not!
It’s 2600 lol. American Leatherworks has it for 1600
Did anyone else think this video was a little dark? Maybe it’s just my old eyes, but I would have loved just a little more light on the project. Otherwise, the video was excellent!
