How To Make Homemade Lemon Extract

Learn how to make homemade lemon extract with only two ingredients. All you need is vodka and lemon peels to make this flavorful extract that will give baked goods that bright lemon flavor.
To make a alcohol free version, swap out the vodka and use glycerin. Mix together 1/4 cup distilled water and 3/4 cup food grade vegetable glycerin until well combined. Pour over the lemon peels, shake and cover. Allow it to sit in the cabinet for two months before using.

Try using bourbon instead of vodka when making vanilla extract. If you like pecan pie its so good.

good afternoon I have a quick question I'm letting my lemon and orange 32oz each extract brew. Both were only little more then half full, before I had org ran out of vodka, today about 4,5 weeks latter I whent and got more what I thought was vodka till I got home and topped of both jars realized it was rum😯did I mess it up? Should let it continue to brew?

this is a tincture not an extract.
tinctures are more powerful and could be more sharper tasting.
