I would love to see a what if the Clone Wars had gone on for another year. I wonder if Anakin would fly the X-Wing or would he fly in a Modified A-Wing with Astromech slot for R2?
from other youtubers like generation tech, eckhartsladder, and geetsly. some of the income corp veteran/elite engineers gave the x-wing blueprints and some newly made ones to the rebels, in which they would salvage parts and materials from ship wreckage around space and planets which kind of make sense (if you could purchase/get new materials and parts then recycle old ones)
Don't forget that Incom sided with the Rebel Alliance against the Empire because of the stranglehold placed upon the company by Imperial oversight and red tape meant to cripple the competition of the Empire's corporate cronys (Sienar and Kuat). Not only did Incom supply the rebellion with already built X-wings, as well as their plans, but also numerous engineers defected to the Rebels. That was until the Empire caught on and began cracking down on Incom even more and executed a number of "spies and traitors" to the Empire.
I think the choice of TIE fighters over the X or A wings reflect more the Imperial Navy combat doctrine which is built around the Star Destroyer being their main attack weapon, using fighter wings mainly to defend against small craft. Whereas the Rebels would value more the versatility and independence of more robust and hyperdrive enabled small craft as their actual spearhead (much like guerilla fighting, but for space battles). They also have a smaller number of trained pilots, so smaller but more resilient fighter wings doing hit and runs make more sense for them than slow and lumbering naval firepower.
also isn't their fighter doctrine way of thinking are a bit oriented towards the CIS battle droid doctrine quantity over quality. while the rebels fighter doctrine are a bit oriented towards galactic republic clone trooper doctrine quality over quantity
I had heard that a major reason that the TIEs did not have hyperdrives, other than the added cost, was because they were designed to be used in swarms backed up by their carrier ships. They are short range craft with no life support and were not meant to be wandering the galaxy by their lonesome. Also, limiting their range away from the fleet helped to ensure loyalty amongst their TIE pilots. They can't have the Imperial Navy being depleated when pilots abscond with their fighter craft and join up with rebel scum, now can they.
The A wing would've been perfect for the Empire instead of Toliet ion engine fighters. Also I feel like if the corporations were reversed and Sienar backed the rebellion they'd probably have more Eta actis like fighters with some TIE influences rather than the aforementioned toilet paper fighters in use.
I seem to remember in one of the Legends books that the plans for the X-Wing were stolen by the Alliance. Maybe it was from the X-Wing vs Tie Fighter games, I'm not sure.
I believe there is a mission in the game Empire at War that shows how the Rebels stole the prototype X-wings from a base on Fresia. To me that would make sense, since it would be natural for the new Empire to (at least initially) start improving their Republic-era fighters such as the ARC-fighter, before creating a completely new design. Although the X-wing was indeed a new design, it still shared a lot of resemblance with the ARC fighter.
Those cut scenes make me long for a massive x wing vs, rogue squadron, shadows ship levels etc remaster with all ships and levels. 20 plus ships with 50 plus levels.... they can feel free to add 3rd person squadrons in.
This might be old lore, or now non-canonical lore, but wasn't the reason the Empire went with the TIEs over other ships not so much as form over function, but more that they needed "quantity is its own quality"? As in, they needed to patrol/force project across a massive amount of space and so needed cheap fighters to give the impression (rightly so) that the Empire is everywhere and invincible? X-Wings with shields, hyperdrives and other extras would just be too expensive to adopt as a main-line fighter for such a large amount of space. "Do I buy 10 X-Wings to patrol 20 sectors and leave half of them undefended or buy 40 TIE Fighters and have 2 in EACH?"
🤔 . . . Let’s split the “what if” into two hypothetical scenarios. 1: Incom gets the contract, Seinar & Kuat doesn’t; 2: Kuat gets the contract, Incom & Seinar doesn’t. There is another, but with a bit of a twist: the Galactic Empire favors Seinar in its mass production, but would also incorporate Incom & Kuat in making a small, yet reasonable number of such craft for their ‘elite’ & loyal units for covert missions & such. Basically, the X-wing would fulfill the same role as the ARC-170 in the most cost saving measure, while the A-wing would be given to Imperial Commandos, or some other elite units, that’re supposed to go in, do their mission(s), & then get out ASAP…
it the Rebels had tie fighters they would not have stud a chance. if the Empire had started using Thrawns Tie Defenses the Rebellion would have been Crushed.

Absolutely great video you did and amazing job on this
The X-Wings initially starting out as Imperial fighters? Oh boy!
Yes on the What If video, please and thank you
The X-Wing is, without a abso-fraking-lute doubt, my Most favorite Starfighter in All of Star Wars!!!!!
Ok, loved the content! Quick couple of questions: Battle armour - who manufactured it? Why doesn't it stop blaster shots? Just curious....
Cheers!
I bet the armor would cost more then the soldier
On the What If, hell yes!
It seems like the Empire kinda goofed on not having a Hyperdrive on their fighterss
hyperdrives cost money, and the empire has a large number of cruisers to transport fighters, wasn't much need

It is obviously because the W wing was ineffective!!!
Yes Tie what if , please
do you have the full video of that dogfight?
A rebellion that used TIE fighters, instead of X-wings? Yea, that would be interesting.
I can't find that video of the chimera making a cameo in star wars squadrons
Love your channel

@5:06 feelsbadman :c
Where did this lore come from?
Rogue One Ultimate Visual Dictionary
Yes I want see that
X wing and shields? 🤔 Where?
WHAT IF LETS DO IT!
What if video they all die from there x x wings
The Rebels had $$. They were financed by a bunch of billionaire senators and had a lot of supporters
Don't call them plucky, they don't know what it means...sorry Guardians of the Galaxy joke

I want the LGBTQ wing.
Nah that’s stupid
I'm dead😐
What’s the point of fighting capitalism if the end result is to replace it with more capitalism?
I think it had less to do with economics, and more to do with the boots on their necks
@@lenny7773 a lot of the books, mention how the day-to-day lives of people didn’t actually change from the republic to the empire to the republic
Hermosa eleccion 2😍 PORNTINDER.Uno de mejor siempre en mi corazónj mañas no se la.🌹🤩💜 Son unos de los mejores conciertos.

Small question: If they use a completely different written language, why are the ships named after what they look like in English letters?
