- Now the Living Tribunal and Lucifer Morningstar are actually incredibly similar characters - both were created by God or the supreme being in their universe in order to serve him (although Lucifer is unwittingly serving him), both are extremely powerful and even nigh-omnipotent, and so these two have been thrown head to head countless times without really ever a clear consensus. But today, we’ll we’re gonna try and finally get a definitive answer on who would win - the Living Tribunal or Lucifer Morningstar. So who’s coming out on top? Well lets figure it out!

The Evil Crisis was a Crisis pre determined since the beggining of time and The Brujeria were using ths crisis to spring board their own plans of summoning The Great Evil Beast.

The Crisis was so grand many universes banded together and many heroes such as the Justice League were all summoned to The Spere it whih was apart of the Pre Crisis events in which The Monitor was stationed.

The Beyonders are a race of omnipotent beings. Their fight with him took place in ALL realities at once and they specifically did this because HE COULD stop their plan to destroy the Multiverse. This story arc ends with Mr Fantastic USING their power to REMAKE the multiverse the moment he was given it by Molecule Man.
The Beyonder at the time was omnipotent, he was literally introduced as millions of times more powerful than the Multiverse combined. The Living Tribunal doesn't even try to do anything to him, he's just there for the story arc and in the modern continuity the original Beyonder was just a child - compared to rest of the Beyonders who had to fight the Living Tribunal ALL AT ONCE across ALL REALITIES to take him out.
The Living Tribunal casually gave Doctor Strange the power to remake the Marvel Universe after Galactus destroyed it. Let's not pretend Doctor Strange is on the same level.

For the people who say that Lucifer exists on a higher plane of existence, this is not true. They are both very similair and are very dependent on the Presence and the One Above All. If one of those decide to make one of them less powerfull, they will be less magnificent. Somehow we have never seen the Living Tribunal’s full power because he is bound to rules the One Above All gave him. The Living Tribunal is restricted by some things while Lucifer is not.

I don’t think this a definitive answer on Lucifer beating The Living Tribunal. However, I do agree since we don’t know a lot about The Living Tribunal’s powers, the victory would to go Lucifer Monrningstar since we know a lot about his abilities.
I noticed Dan left out the only reason The Living Tribunal was able to defeat Protege was because of Scathan the Approver. Scathan neutralized Protege’s powers in order for The Living Tribunal to judge him. He was too powerful for the The Living Tribunal to defeat on his own.

Lucifer can basically only be killed by the Presence. I’m 99% sure that his existence is on an Omniversal scale of having such high reality warping power. Anything you do, he’ll do better. He can be compared to the Beyonder at his top tier, maybe a little less powerful, maybe more. I’m pretty sure the Living Tribunal would try and do something, but it would just never work. I think Lucifer’s willpower alone is enough to trump any form of reality warping. Like not even Protege is changing that.

The only characters to beat the Living Tribunal consists of:
Thanos when he was omnipotent with the HoTU.
ALL the Beyonders. Who fought him in ALL realities at once.
Losing to massively omnipotent characters isn't much for jobbing. The guy who replaced him was an amalgam of his entire reality in Jim Starlin's run.

@@kindle184 The biggest guy King Thanos ever killed was Galactus, the Tribunal was still doing his thing in various realities across the multiverse, while King Thanos couldn't even kill Ghost Rider under his own power.That whole splash page of Infinity (who no longer exists post Secret Wars), Hate, the Watcher, Galactus and 6 Celestials isn't consistent with the rest of the story with normal Thanos and the Silver Surfer can take down King Thanos.
Regulator Thanos had already absorbed ALL the Universe's abstracts into himself and by simply existing threaten to unravel the multiverse - AND even then didn't defeat the Tribunal - the TOAA's universe regulation machine did that (as in that's why Thanos could do anything that arc by hijacking God's own equipment).
Order was infected by the First Firmament (the first multiverse) and after killing the Tribunal, devoured the Inbetweener and Chaos, becoming the new twisted Tribunal that went on to kill ALL celestials across the Multiverse and prep it to be destroyed.
This was POST Secret Wars, when Eternity was weak from being recreated / chained by the First Firmament and the comic says the cosmic order was in flux, The Tribunal (Adam Warlock) specifically was explained as vulnerable only because of this and after 7 multiverses came to kick the 1st's rear the Living Tribunal revived himself and chastises Chaos and Order for being infected by the First Firmament.
Losing to either massively omnipotent characters or characters who can only currently beat you because the situation allows for it isn't much of a low end.
@@nm2358 in his battle with beyonders in which he died he was mentioned as multiverse manifest itself to protect itself this making him a multiverse constant nothing beyond that that is gud and all but those same beyonders were killed starband and king thor and thier entire and I mean thier entierty of race was destroyed by Dr doom with a bomb that was on panel was stated that it can destroy 10000 universes and marvel multiverse has infinite universes so look at this way the multiverse constant was destroyed by the 3 guys whose entire race including them the ivory kings were eradicated by a bomb that could said to destroy 10000 universes.

I find it hilarious you're trying to play down the Beyonders when Mr Fantastic instantly remakes the multiverse using their power and proceeds to create various realities with Franklin for years afterwards.
The Beyonders only died because Doctor Doom used their own multiverse ending plan against them by tossing Owen Reece the Molecule Man at their realm when they opened the door for him and Doctor Doom literally destroys the remaining realities in the process of doing that.

The Living Tribunal is super weird.
He's apparently also the Judge of whether cosmic abstracts should even exist (as of Jane Foster's book he was Death's Death and deciding whether Death in 616 should even exist) and in Doctor Strange he gave Doctor Strange the power to recreate all of reality after Galactus destroyed it.
The Beyonders to even destroy the Marvel Multiverse had to fight the Living Tribunal across ALL realities until they broke him, because presumingly he could have ended their multiverse ending threats.
If Lucifer's powers can work on him, maybe he wins this, otherwise LT is abusively OP.

If I remember correctly, each of the Beyonders was a multiverse unto itself, and they were from an entirely separate OMNIVERSE from our own. They referred to the original Beyonder (the pre-retconned version) as "a child unit", or words to that effect. The fact that LT could even stand toe-to-toe with them for a short time is in itself amazing, and is a testament to LT's power. It took two or three of them to defeat him if memory serves, but there were an infinite number of Beyonders. A battle between them and Lucifer Morningstar would be a better matchup IMHO.

Hank Pym says something to the effect when he saw them killing thr Celestials across the multiverse it was a different Beyonder in every reality. Same with the abstracts. I would have my doubt that the Living Tribunal is just fighting the same 3 in every reality so much so as he's fighting a nigh infinite amount of them.

I would add that what if comic mentioned here where Korvac was able to withstand TLT's is quite a suspect of a story. Because in that story TLT's judgement was just simply accelerating the Sun's life cycle to cause it to go Supernova nothing else he practically gave up afterwards. Now for TLT, a being that is supposedly Omniversal and is above such concepts like Eternity, Infinity, Death and so on, for TLT giving up and running away after such a minor attempt is a pretty questionable decision.

Hi Kevin! You are asking a very intelligent question which is a classic "omnipotence paradox" question like "Can an omnipotent being create a rock that he cannot lift up?" By this logic omnipotence is not possible because if the omnipotent being:
1) can lift the rock he created then he is not omnipotent because he can not create a rock he cannot lift
2) if he can create the rock but he cannot lift it then he is again not omnipotent because he could not lift the rock
This is a paradoxical dead end logic, so the only way to answer this question is that omnipotent being is beyond the human understanding of logic and can do both at once.
This logic is similar to your original question the, answer is usually that there is something going on that we do not know of. It is likely that the Presence had everything "JUST AS PLANNED" from the start but we are not told about this. Maybe presence actually allowed everything to happen because he already knew what is going to happen before it happened. Maybe because the Presence allowed his power to be stolen to test Lucfier Morningstar's reaction but always had a safety switch in case things go "unintended" but if the presence is Omniscient then he already knew everything will be all right at the end.

Well lucifer exist beyond multiverse and was created beyond creation he was the one created multiverse 2 times .
Living tribunal M bodies are universal protector and original living tribunal multiverse constant as seen with his fight against Beyonder the statement "when multiverse tries to manifest itself(living tribunal) to defend itself".
And lucifer never technically be killed as of yet and can't be killed he can only be unmaked by presence or die as per his will and come back as per his will.
Similarly how Michael got killed by lucifer outside creation the Michael immediately reform with his full power because he didn't want to not to exist but when presence left the creation to beyond unknown Michael was lost his meaning of exist and doesn't not want exist and the lucifer killed him again he transfer his power to ellaine and do not come back.
It pretty clear who will win even when using living tribunal or it's my body. Lucifer onced killed a being who devoured entire creation(silkman) by dragging him into his multiverse and willing him out existence.
