They should make these little trucks again. I’d love to get a couple for my little nieces. 😊

3 minutes in I thought “hell yea, he’s going to show how to sand blast this paint away”. I knew this paint AND the rust was going to give you a challenge. I know that was hard labor but it turned out great in the end. Windshield and wheels cleaned up real nice! Excellent work 👌🏼

Hehe. No sand blaster here! Hope you are well Rivera!

Hey, I was the guy who sent you those decals back when you did the Blasphemi car. Glad to see you use them on a build. The truck looks great.

A good one which I have done something similar, try evaporust in the ultrasonic cleaner. It does help out a lot, and it is safe, and drain dump able. It can also loosen the paint sometimes, as i saw you had problems with that paint which was weird.

I've done a few of these, electrolysis works really well for shifting the paint as well as the rust - I use some laundry powder instead of salt in the water, it makes for a better class of mess👍😀

Caustic soda works great on the paint and rust, its also called Lye and can be found in the plumbing section for cleaning pipes. Just remember, you do not want to breath in the fumes.

As a kid I always loved these things. They would survive buried all winter under the Michigan snow, unless they got chopped up by the tractor mower in the spring by my Dad. Ohhh that used to really get him,,, upset 😬😁.

    Happy Friday🙂
Had not seen any other utuber separate the Tonkas like this to get rid of rust etc.
Great outcome, I am sure your Granddaughter will love it.

    F-ck yeah!
    I had these a kid
Even the McDonald's ones were just as resilient as their original counterparts
Tonka wasn't playing around with making durable toys
These things can take a nuclear blast to the face and only the paint would be mildly scuffed

I've been watching your videos for at least a few years and a few videos back with all of the mud on the car was the only thing that ever looked odd or skeptical. I would have let the stripper do more of the work longer before brushing off the paint but that's just my suggestion let the stuff do some of the work first but what do I know I'm just a regular viewer. Though Tonka metal toys were painted with paint that practically bonded to the metal I believe. Wait you only put primer on the parts before putting them back together not paint the individual parts first 🤔. Using your logo as a decal nice and great result 👍 👏 👌 oh and Merry Christmas to everyone

    • @WheelsNThangs
      @WheelsNThangs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks Tom, I know the mud looked off but there was nothing to it. I should have just taken all of the mud off to begin with to avoid the situation :) Thanks for the tips and Merry Christmas!

And what was that space age technology box thing you put the plastics into for cleanup?

Thank you! The Vinegar can just go down the drain. The stripped goes in an old paint bucket.
