    I don't understand why knowing the twist of a movie would "ruin" it. If it's a good film, it's a good film, and people like rewatching it. There are several of these that I have watched multiple times and knowing the twist doesn't diminish my enjoyment of them at all.

    • @hethna4166

      Certain cases like knowing Jigsaw in Saw definitely would ruin many first time watcher experience. You need to be in the shadow, otherwise the "WTF just happened!?" moment wouldn't be there, if you already got spoiled.
      Also, what you experienced is definitely not universal. The same thing you wouldn't enjoy something that others would, and vice versa.

  • @ElvisRose_
    @ElvisRose_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I wasn't told what the spoiler was but all of my brothers told me that I'd never see the ending coming. In the first ten minutes, I guessed it was Kevin Spacey then literally fell asleep until the last two minutes so yeah, just knowing there's an unexpected ending can ruin a movie but I don't think all of these ruin the movie. For me, it makes the movie better like Scream, it's like the scary version of a joke being funnier when you know what's coming. It's even scarier knowing there's more than one but the bigger twist, to me, is Billy being one of the killers. If you don't know that then you discard him as a suspect very early on and don't revisit him.

So when that gem comes along that recieved little to no advertising I can seriously get into it. @1:00 actually, I hope Psycho is NOT on the list because, like Sixth Sense, rewatches enhance the experience. However, movies like The Game, Identity, Usual Suspects, etc... you literally cannot watch a second time. I love lists like this regardless!

    What do you guys mean that the spoilers ruined the film? Are you guys referring about the trailer? I’m a bit confused.

    What about From Dusk Till Dawn? I remember I went to see Primal Fear with my then girlfriend instead of From Dusk Till Dawn. I absolutely loved the movie and the next day I called my brother and talked to him about it. He asked me if I had watched From Dusk Till Dawn, I told him no and asked him to tell me about it, he refused point blank. To the point that I was kind of pissed off by the time our call ended. Anyway I promptly forgot about it and about a year later I was in a video rental store and I saw From Dusk Till Dawn and remembered my conversation with my brother so I rented the movie. After watching it I immediately called my brother and the first thing I said to him when he picked up was thanks. He asked what for, I said for not telling me about From Dusk Till Dawn and spent like the next hour or so excitedly talking about the movie.

Had no idea what snapes intentions were, however being a huge anime fan dude gave me Itachi Uchia vibes all the way through. I was 99.9 percent sure he was a good guy. When he said to harry "You have your mothers eyes" I melted inside

    Last Christmas: Guy being dead the whole time.
    Kate and Leopold: (if you watch the directors cut) Kate can be seen in 1876 at the beginning of the film.
    The Sixth Sense: Malcolm was dead the whole time.

      I saw someone on a virtual pet site with a pet name related to a Deathly Hallows spoiler about certain events, and another was posting Twilight: Breaking Dawn spoilers.
      I didn't know of them being spoilers at the time (I hadn't read DH, and didn't care about Twilight, nor never saw that user), but now I'm cracking up about the pet name being frozen, especially since that person was trolling me back in the day. So I hope that user still owned that pet.

    Yes I absolutely guessed the Malignant twist because it was really obvious to anyone who's seen more than the bare basic horror films in their life lol. Same with the identity of the killers in any Scream movie, but especially 1 &4 if you couldn't guess that I don't know how you survived to adulthood.

    • @Ready_set_nope
      @Ready_set_nope 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. My husband and I were watching together and he was able to predict it, and he sucks at predicting stuff. It became obvious midway as there was a specific murder scene . They focused too long on the killer. You could see the stabbing motion looked like it was happening backwards. Had they not focused on that and some of the awkward running for as long as they did then MAYBE we would not have predicted it, but yeah, it was quite easy to figure out after seeing that.

    Who wrote this list?!?! SOME of these movies are unwatchable a second time round, once you know “the twist”, but the majority are definitely worth a second or third watch, where knowing adds a new layer to the film you’ve seen before, and a newfound enjoyment too.

    I feel like the sixth sense should have gotten a mention and i know that for a fact because just before i was about to watch it for the first time my then friend drops the plot twist in it, wich kind of ruined the movie for me, atleast i think it would have been better to watch without knowing the twist beforehand anyway.

  • @nailsarelife
    @nailsarelife 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    While I don't want to know the twists or reveals ahead of my first viewing, I don't think it ruins subsequent viewings to know them after you watch it. My favorite pastime is watching movies again and looking for those little hints filmmakers put in there.

    bad take on shutter island. I think it plays the same as the sixth sense. I think it gives it more rewatchability. I notice something new every time i watch it that i didnt pick up on in previous watches. Its one of my all time favorites. Great video though. Love yalls content

    the title is misleading. the video is about spoilers that are sure to ruin movies if told or shown by someone, not spoilers that HAVE ruined movies as if nobody went in blind watching them.
    most movies on this list i didn't have anything spoiled for me (others i didn't watch) and i thoroughly enjoyed them, especially Malignant that i love.
    Identity is another one i absolutely loved the ending of and i kept mentioning it whenever talking to someone about twist endings they should definitely watch without checking any trailers for it.

    No, interacting with aliens doesn't distort time. Understanding a language makes you think the way a civilization thinks. Aliens have a circular time comprehension, when Amy understands their language she starts thinking like them, sensing the future, past, present at the same time.
