@@phantasosxgames8488 i meant a new one. I’m playing the 2014 right now, I’m 60% of the way and I’m enjoying quite a lot, but i feel there’s quite a lot that could be done on a reboot, mostly a more interesting history, a more diverse soundtrack with more catchy tunes, more NPCs to talk to and better voices whenever they actually speak, bigger level variety, everything looks a bit too similar, although concise. A few gameplay tweaks, harder bosses, having to move with the analog stick never felt natural on a sidescroller, there should be other ways to change the plasma instead of keeping the dpad for that. There should be a button you could hold to lock Hiryu in place, because you have diagonal control of the blade, but if you do iso you also move forward. Maybe change the way jump movement works, allowing you to have more precise control of the jump movement instead of the current that follows the direction you were moving even if you release the direction mid air, unless that is part of the challenge, but would allow for more precise platforming. That’s personal but I’m not the biggest fan of the character models, they look weird from up close, especially Hiryu, the hair, and the mask with the red earpiece as one thing, i don’t quite like the way it looks either. I think this franchise has the potential to become as popular as current metroidvanias like Hollow Knight, Ori, Axiom Verge, Dead Cells. Strider has always been under-utilised by Capcom and that’s a shame, such a cool concept
RFH95 the thing with the 2014 Remake is that it made safe options , all of your idea would be more bound to a Striders 2. I mean , the whole decision making for Strider 2014 was a result of how much of a failure Bionic Commando and Ninja Theory’s DmC
@@phantasosxgames8488 I’m not a long time fan, this is just my first Strider game, I’ve only seen him in all the MvsC games I played growing up. I’m not too sure of what led to it coming to existence the way it is, but at the time, sidescrollers hadn’t had its big come back to popularity, they were still very niche, it was all about the latest that technology could do, and that involved not being 2D, nowadays they still aren’t mainstream but a lot of people have learned to like them, even younger gamers. And not only the time is better, gaming has come a long way, and everything done right in the latest metroidvanias could be carefully analysed and much of it could be implemented on its own way, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel to make a good game, if you take a little bit of inspiration from everything and mix it all in the right way you can come of with something great, and the Strider franchise could easily incorporate a lot of the more recent stuff without going too far from its previous games, it could please old and new fans. A good game with some replay value, paired with a reasonable price of $50 instead of $70, with some good marketing, trailers and some review copies sent to reviewers ahead of release and getting good ratings, I’m sure it could do well, not to mention the Capcom name, it must help a little.
well, Strider was more of a hack and slash franchise than a metroidvania. That's why the 2014 reboot doesn't have the depth of other metroidvanias from that era, I mean you can even complete the game with almost 0 backtracking because of how linear it is. But I get it, it has potential in that genre
Such a shame that his last major appearance as a playable character was in MvCI. He deserves his own series to be brought back because he's always been one of the coolest video game characters ever.
@@NaoEdwin lowkey different vro ! u know who Mario and Sonic are right ? yeah cuz Sega and Nintendo advertises tf outta they mascot ! aint heard from capcom since MVCI 🤷🏽♂️ not aaying they not droppin games tho
You put 1989 over the Genesis port footage for some reason. The original arcade game was released in 1989 and the Genesis/Mega Drive port was released in 1990. Journey from Darkness: Strider Returns also didn't feature Strider Hiryu as the game's protagonist, it featured the imposter Strider Hinjo instead.
You have done a superb video here. Mind if I share it in a Gaming leaderboards discord I created with some friends?...and would you consider coming for a visit?
Capcom could explode better this character during the platformers era, a shame they didn't.
They did with SFV, we see the very origins of the strider. Grand master Zeku of the Bushinryu style founded it. He branched off from Bushinryu.
Why would they blow him up
Him,Hotsuma (Shinobi),Joe Murasashi (Shinobi) and Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) are my favorite videogame ninjas.
With the current popularity of metroidvanias, Strider could have an amazing game
the 2014 was a good game

Just finished 2014's Strider a few hours ago and it is one of the best games I've played in the last 5 years, easily.

Forgot about him appearance in Monster Hunter :)
God, the voice actor is majestic...
Like Morrigan his last appearance was in MVSCI
Strider, Strider 2, Osman(Spin-off prequel), Moondiver(spin-off), are my favorite Strider games.
Journey from darkness is not Hiryu it's Some bloke named hinjo
This character gives super Smash Bros brawl vibes, i think it would do well
Capcom strider 2 remake get to work and make this bread.
Excelente amigo gamer

I want him in Smash
I wanted him too
Too bad . They need a permission from Moto Kikaku .
great archetype, flashy speed slash, aerial jumps and slash, and that slide. somehow the story was lacking as compared to Shinobi
strider 2 was so hard to find in online digital iso form cuz it was a misprint issue in the title "Strider 1&2" BUT I FOUND IT 😂😂😂
god strider 2 my damn childhood
You forgot arcade version
I know him from Marvel vs capcom
You're young
Where the arcade version of Strider 1?
I hope we get a new Strider character in street fighter 6

I wish for a new Strider game.
With Ninja Gaiden gone, Hiryu could use a 3d action reboot of his own imo
Please name of the intro music
