The Javier secret was really cool and such a nice detail to his character. While he may have loved Arthur as a brother, he still sided with Dutch and Micah. Maybe because he respected Dutch more, but I think it was more to the fact that Javier couldn't think that Arthur and John could win. They were outnumbered and Javier just wanted to survive. Still, he wouldn't be the one to make the killing shot.
There's a bit of backstory to Javier. He was a Mexican revolutionary, but the revolution failed and he went to America. He joined up with Dutch because he reminds him of those revolutionaries. I think he sides with Dutch because he can't accept that another "revolution" has failed. Of course, he later realizes that Arthur and John are right and Dutch is insane, which causes him to lose hope, return to Mexico, and fight against the revolutionaries in RDR 1
I always felt that way, I think we even hear him say something to the effect of “I always pick the winning side” around camp. He knew that Arthur was dying, and that John was pretty much helpless on his own, burdened by a wife and child. I think he picked which side would win. Maybe if Charles had been there he’d have sided with them.

I killed him in rdr1. I’d rather him get killed by someone he was close with rather than some government agents he’s been hiding and running from for more than a decade. Imagine the humiliation he would feel if the agents would execute him. They’d probably taunt him and mess around with him before killing him.
I love that Gabriel was able to convince Rockstar to let him do that. I feel like Javier is loyal to Dutch’s ideals, not necessarily Dutch himself. He idolises him, but that’s because they share the same ideas of what Mexico/America/life should be like. Their ideals align so perfectly that he was probably still holding onto hope that they could still fight the system and find a way out but when the Pinkertons came through and he saw that Dutch was pointing his gun at his own “sons”, he must have realised that everything is literally fucked and there’s no salvaging it from this point. So he split, perhaps figuring that Dutch was no longer the revolutionary he had come to admire and was now just a terrified man clinging desperately to his dwindling power as the walls were closing in
That is why I love Javier. You can tell he really cared for the well being of his fellow gang members just as much as he cared about his loyalty to Dutch.

I also caught him but I didn't use short cuts just ran up on him from behind and tackled. It's Def possible if you don't follow him directly but take slightly shorter roots like tighter corners

This was pretty interesting learning about some of secrets. Some I already knew like that you can catch the street kid that robs you. Finally, someone talks about that guy in the outhouse! I remember exploring around that area and I found him, but I couldn’t get a good look at him because I couldn’t shoot out all the wood of the outhouse.

Sometimes I wonder if I even played the game. So many secrets that are found by just riding through the landscapes. I'm here just using fast travel or quickly riding from mission to mission.
I try to do the same and set my waypoints up like so but I'll always stop to go through a shack or talk to someone or hunt if I notice an interesting animal around. This game is literally amazing for just exploring. The world is just big enough.
I think it would be amazing, and unexpected, if RDR3 were to be Javier Escuella's redemption arc; he doesn't necessarily die in RDR1 and the government could have used him rather than immediately kill him, like they did with John Marsten. He could even help Jack Marsten during the interim between John and Jack game play.
That would be cool although i would enjoy another prequel, i want to see the glory days of the Van der Linde gang because we only saw the gangs downfall after the Blackwater ferry heist which i consider is a setup from Micah but we will never know if we don't get another prequel...
He’s confirmed dead before John even dies. They executed Javier after you hand him over or you can execute him yourself. Javier also never got redemption he ended up dying as a mercenary who’s only interests are money and himself

Strange man, there's a secret I found today. Can't seem to find a video of it here on TH-cam. While I was playing as Arthur in chapter 2. I was doing the challenge where I had to kill 6 animals without reloading or switching weapons. I ended up killing a bunch of animals and I noticed two people watching over me from a hill, when I used my binoculars it looked like it was Rains fall and Eagle flies. Then they just turned around amd walked away. When I got to the hill they were on they were already gone... My guess is that they showed up because I was killing a bunch of animals and they didn't seem to like that.
Idk why rockstar didn't include nigel west Dickens in saint Denis he could've met Arthur Morgan and be a missable mission but only for Arthur not john cuz john meets him in 1911

Something that annoys me about the Red Dead Redemption mission is how Bill and Javier suddenly disappear after Ross and his men storm Beaver Hollow. Rockstar should have included a cutscene where we see them flee and Dutch calls them cowards.

@@SewnForSolitude dude that Shortcut is one of the ways you can get him, and that cutscene always happen when you catch him. If you are doing the goldrush trophie you surely want to do this mission because it is easy and catching the boy is on of the objectives... so yeah that is no secret
I know this might not be a secret but you can find 2 dead prisoners near the little shack in between Saint Denis and Shady Belle. I think they’re the prisoners you see escape near Clemens Point, mainly because I didn’t see them there before this encounter but also because it just makes sense.
Did you also know there is a secret cut scene if you avoid for a long time doing the mission when John wants you to steal the oil wagon? Go do other missions and later in the game a text will show up telling you to go back to camp and talk to John and a new cut scene will play and John is a little aggravated that you hadn't stolen the oil wagon yet and ask if you're still willing to do it or not.
Javier one is a pretty known detail at this point. One thing I just noticed however is how clearly conflicted he seems even before they start "picking sides". At 3:32 it even kinda looks symbolic, how he is in the middle of the two groups forcibly but gradually getting in place so as to not get on Dutch's bad side either. A small thing I noticed on the handcar guys, their cloth seems to have been animated rather than using physics, just to add some extra flair to the scene. At 6:50 once you cut a bit later on, both their "cloth flap" animations are disabled as the scene has supposedly finished by then. The part with the thief chase I didn't know at all, very nice to see there's an alternative. Game keeps on giving.
3:45 I always would have thought it to be a nice twist of fate if Javier and Bill joined sides with Arthur and John in the end, but then get split up as soon as the Pinkertons attack. To me, if those two sided with Arthur and John in the end, it would've made their hatred towards Dutch in the first game more justified as well as the act of John tracking them both down and killing them all that more interesting.

I think it would be amazing, and unexpected, if RDR3 were to be Javier Escuella's redemption arc; he doesn't necessarily die in RDR1 and the government could have used him rather than immediately kill him, like they did with John Marsten. He could even help Jack Marsten during the interim between John and Jack game play.
That would be cool although i would enjoy another prequel, i want to see the glory days of the Van der Linde gang because we only saw the gangs downfall after the Blackwater ferry heist which i consider is a setup from Micah but we will never know if we don't get another prequel...
He’s confirmed dead before John even dies. They executed Javier after you hand him over or you can execute him yourself. Javier also never got redemption he ended up dying as a mercenary who’s only interests are money and himself
I was able to catch the kid almost immediately, I was lucky and he ran into a cart and I was able to stop him. He then decided to phase through a trolley after getting up.

Strange man, there's a secret I found today. Can't seem to find a video of it here on TH-cam. While I was playing as Arthur in chapter 2. I was doing the challenge where I had to kill 6 animals without reloading or switching weapons. I ended up killing a bunch of animals and I noticed two people watching over me from a hill, when I used my binoculars it looked like it was Rains fall and Eagle flies. Then they just turned around amd walked away. When I got to the hill they were on they were already gone... My guess is that they showed up because I was killing a bunch of animals and they didn't seem to like that.

Something that annoys me about the Red Dead Redemption mission is how Bill and Javier suddenly disappear after Ross and his men storm Beaver Hollow. Rockstar should have included a cutscene where we see them flee and Dutch calls them cowards.

The kid wasn't the secret, its taking the shortcut and having that cut scene instead of the one you see when you follow him the regular way.
@@SewnForSolitude dude that Shortcut is one of the ways you can get him, and that cutscene always happen when you catch him. If you are doing the goldrush trophie you surely want to do this mission because it is easy and catching the boy is on of the objectives... so yeah that is no secret
I know this might not be a secret but you can find 2 dead prisoners near the little shack in between Saint Denis and Shady Belle. I think they’re the prisoners you see escape near Clemens Point, mainly because I didn’t see them there before this encounter but also because it just makes sense.

Did you also know there is a secret cut scene if you avoid for a long time doing the mission when John wants you to steal the oil wagon?
Go do other missions and later in the game a text will show up telling you to go back to camp and talk to John and a new cut scene will play and John is a little aggravated that you hadn't stolen the oil wagon yet and ask if you're still willing to do it or not.

Javier one is a pretty known detail at this point. One thing I just noticed however is how clearly conflicted he seems even before they start "picking sides". At 3:32 it even kinda looks symbolic, how he is in the middle of the two groups forcibly but gradually getting in place so as to not get on Dutch's bad side either.
A small thing I noticed on the handcar guys, their cloth seems to have been animated rather than using physics, just to add some extra flair to the scene. At 6:50 once you cut a bit later on, both their "cloth flap" animations are disabled as the scene has supposedly finished by then.
The part with the thief chase I didn't know at all, very nice to see there's an alternative. Game keeps on giving.

I always would have thought it to be a nice twist of fate if Javier and Bill joined sides with Arthur and John in the end, but then get split up as soon as the Pinkertons attack. To me, if those two sided with Arthur and John in the end, it would've made their hatred towards Dutch in the first game more justified as well as the act of John tracking them both down and killing them all that more interesting.
Javier really enjoyed his cast members I heard in a interview.
