I've always hated being in Van Horn. Every little greeting, random encounter, or accidentally bumping into someone, I ended up shooting the whole town. Almost everyone was rough or was a jerk depends on how a player views them. But I've never dared to harm the clerk. I always knew something was peculiar about his paleness. And now I'm thankful I never did anything to him. He seems like a great guy.
And the other place I forgot the name it sounded like August. But I greeted a guy and he said I was good for nothing so i antagonised him then he aims his gun at me, I stare him in the eyes then he shoots me. So I started to run and a then i get a bounty and everyones shooting at me. Before that i had knocked a guy over on accident in van horn then the whole town shoots me so i go to a bridge where a train was going under so i jumped onto it and sat down in a seat. Then in... Ansburg there I got it anyways yea the Ansburg thing happens. So there I was having no horse, no weapons because i stored them in my horse I also had no cores. Continuing that I had my mini map of by choice because i wanted to use sign posts to know where im going. I went all the way from Ansburg with no horse using sign posts stabbing or running from enemies and then i got to Valentine. Arthur was dirty as hell so i get a bath got some food got in a bar fight black out wake up in jail so I get my horse back and bam... 3 hours of my day and to be honest i enjoyed it. Also why did i tell you my story of what happend to me today?
while doing algernons first mission i killed some gators as well, and new ones came the next day and just camped at the spots where the dead ones were, it might be similar to the wolf
During the same quest with Mary if you agree to go see a show with her you can pan the camera around to face her and while pressing L2 or the equivalent the "make a move" prompt comes up and Arthur stretches to put his arm around her. I thought it was the cutest thing.

The community went nuts with that mural, and then, finally, people started basically a cult around a game. It all had a meaning. It all meant something. Give them people a "meaning" or a "reason" or a "secret, deeper story", and they all fall for it. They fall for it so much.
Another detail that broke my heart so so so so much.. remember the mary part? Well arthurs last journel entry talked about mary while he was dying. He wrote in his journel about his life and how he was a fool. But its the end of the road. It says “i’m not afraid. Not now.. Oh mary.. I will miss you until I see you again” and then a hand drawn heart. So sad.. arthur still wanted to start a new life and run away with mary :(
Arthur last journal entry for me was Arthur telling Mary to be happy, John to protect Jack and Abigail and Dutch to listen to someone who really cares about him. How do you get that?
I once killed a deer, came back way later, and found a raccoon and crow scavenging their way into its corpse. The details in this game is just way too realistic.
At the end of the date they had at the theatre when she was getting on the trolly she asked if they could still be a thing so they both have feelings or each other
The never ending love between Artur and Mary breakes my heart. Some say she just used him - It’s not like that for me. If you read carefully her letters and Arthur’s journal, you can cleraly see the great affection they both still have for each other. Her words were true, when she wanted him to run away with her, run away from their miserable lives and finally be happy on their own. If Arthur didnt hesitate to stay and still try to help Dutch and save John’s family, he would live a probably happy live, quite long if they moved somewhere dry and warm, to his beloved West. It’s so sad for me. He chose others’ happiness and wealth over his own. He was just so caring for his family in gang, that he gave up his own dreams.
Agreed, plus he still has that framed photo of her near his bed and she had still held on to his (presumably) engagement ring that was meant for her and the photo of the 2 of them taken together even when she was married to Barry Linton. IIRC Arthur also writes in his journal (I think after the second Mary mission in the game) that he still loves her. 💔
And then the game also clearly states that they just aren't meant for each other. What you have is a wishful thinking, nothing wrong with that. You might not see it but yeah she was actually playing with him, Arthur was just a blind fool like he stated it himself. By the end of chapter 6 it's all over. Nothing wrong with Arthur caring for his family either, he helped John escape because he loved him as his brother and wanted him to live a better life, which in the end proved in vain. So i think that Arthur choosing to help his family instead of a girl that he used to love before is way more important. To conclude, Mary telling Arthur that he is a good man didn't much change anything because after all that Arthur went trough, the things he's done, people he's killed, people he's lost including Eliza and Isaac, you can't just wash away those things easily as some of them can make a permanent impact, and escaping with her wouldn't help him erase his past either, so it wouldn't have worked out no matter how you put it. Sad but it is what it is.

She said she lived the happiest dream of them finally being together, but then Arthur didn’t show up for the escape. I am sure her heart was truely broken and she understood, that they are not living in a fairytale. I think she then realised, that they both are too committed to their lives to actually achieve that dream. Cutting their relationship was mented to let them both finally free. Also we see her all in black, mourning at Arthur’s grave, prooving she really greatly loved him.

And in the end, both Arthur and Mary had to accept that all that is a youthful fantasy, nothing more, nothing less. Mary had to finally let go and continue with her own life... and tbh even if Arthur didn't contract TB it wouldn't change things much neither, the past would still be there to haunt. As Arthur stated, all those things are long gone.
The fact that there's just a random Albino in this game makes it feel even more alive then it already is. Every person feels unique in their own way in this game.
I think it's also cool that when you find the mourning wolf in Ambarino, your horse doesn't get scared and you don't get the red "enemy/predator" indicator on the mini map because it doesn't attack you at any point.

"If you’ve been to Van Horn, you’ve probably noticed…" that I can’t seem to leave it without causing a bloodbath and massacring the whole town? Yep, I have actually. And for anyone wondering, he cut an abandoned and unused hotel in Annesburg and swapped it out for the Mary Linton heartbeat detail.
I just found the decapitated body myself, turns out it’s for a mission with the Appleseed Timber Foreman. If you pass him a few times he’ll mention how they’ve stopped working because wolves are killing the men. If you accept to kill them you’ll come across the two bodies and the wolves. It’s nice that it still has a nod to Ichabod Crane though.

Another cool inmersive detail happens when you do the mission "Pouring Oil", when you are about to assault the train with Sean, Charles and John, Arthur will check the distance of the train, stepping on the rail. Once he steps it, the controller will start vibrating as the train gets closer.

There was a rumor that if you got the bad ending you would play as Dutch and see his side of everything and have his own epilogue in Columbia or somewhere like that leading up to American venom and if you got the good ending you would have played as John and have the ending we know of sucks rockstar cut it would have made the game great
Also it’s a fact that the game was supposed to start when Arthur was 16 and you would see how the gang formed but instead they just got cut into small conversations around the camp and in missions something else that would have made it even better
Raul Diaz Yea that’s just not true. U were never gonna play as a 16 year old Arthur and that Dutch alternative ending sounds like something a random person made up to fool people. The conversations the gang has about their past is just to immerse u, rockstar does this in all their games. The main cut content was in new Austin and Arthur being able to be down there
To be fair the theatre only got cut out because they decided to make Armadillo more interesting, seems they originally planned to keep it the same as in RDR1 but then decided to make it a plague affected town
It took them so many years to create such an amazing game that is so immersive that the average player is so busy just enjoying playing it that they won’t notice 90 percent of the things the developers put into it. That is where you come along our friend and show us the things we never slowed down to see.

I feel like most people who prefer Arthur over John simply didn't spend enough time on the 1st RDR, I played the absolute crap out of that game so ill always put John over Arthur. I think they're both great in their own ways, I freaking hated how the epilogue of RDR2 felt like I was playing as Arthur more than John. They used the exact same body language as Arthur, when in reality John has his own unique body language in RDR1. Greatest video game character for me is Gordon Freeman even though he doesn't have a single line of dialogue

So yeah I thrown a Tomahawk and it was funny because the wolf collapsed on the other wolf's carcass. Furthermore, this poor dude joined his friend in heaven so everyone is happy!

1:38 I mean, it hardcore shows. In the way Arthur acts and such, when Mary asks him to run away with her. You can tell he still has feelings for her. I sense energy between these two, so sad that Arthur was never able to run away with her in the end...
Ever since I played RDR2, I've felt just plain sad. The story itself, the easter eggs sometimes make me sad like the Marco dragic and robot one, the devil's cave, the Pagan sacrifice. Even just killing animal's makes me sad even though I know they aren't real. This game is so beautiful and it really can affect people and make them feel many emotions, that's what make it a great game.
When I did the mission given by Appleseed Timber Company's overseer (the one where you had to kill the wolves), I thought the two bodies in 6:19 were the wolves' recent victims because the mission led me to the spot where they died. In case anyone wants to try, I decided to bring one of the bodies (the headless one) back to the overseer and I got a nice additional dialogue with him. Another great video, Strange Man!
In the last secret if my memory serves me right those guys were killed by wolves in one of the side missions for the timber company. Still could be a reference, but you made it seem like the one killed the other. Love the content though, man

In Van Horn there is an abandoned building called "Moennig & Son". On your left there are some stairs and if you go up them, you can notice that on the second floor of the abandoned building there is a strange window with pink curtains with flowers. It is unique, very clean and feminine to be in Van Horn ... Maybe a reference to the princess?
I love rdr 2 but rockstar is being lazy about giving cool updates to the game, i mean ik for October its been confirmed that there are zombies coming to the game

I agree with the comment above. Rockstar may be releasing boring updates, but they're trying to show that the game isn't dead. They're most likely working on something big, and they need time. If they start releasing it now, it won't be fun. People will then start complaining about how crap it was, when they were the ones who were screaming at the company to release it now. Be patient. You all could do it whilst waiting for the game to release. It's like what Dutch says. "Have some goddamn faith."

I just found the decapitated body myself, turns out it’s for a mission with the Appleseed Timber Foreman. If you pass him a few times he’ll mention how they’ve stopped working because wolves are killing the men. If you accept to kill them you’ll come across the two bodies and the wolves.
It’s nice that it still has a nod to Ichabod Crane though.

Another cool inmersive detail happens when you do the mission "Pouring Oil", when you are about to assault the train with Sean, Charles and John, Arthur will check the distance of the train, stepping on the rail. Once he steps it, the controller will start vibrating as the train gets closer.

It’s sad to see how much stuff Rockstar cut from the game
Compared to how much they put in its honestly pretty low
There was a rumor that if you got the bad ending you would play as Dutch and see his side of everything and have his own epilogue in Columbia or somewhere like that leading up to American venom and if you got the good ending you would have played as John and have the ending we know of sucks rockstar cut it would have made the game great
Also it’s a fact that the game was supposed to start when Arthur was 16 and you would see how the gang formed but instead they just got cut into small conversations around the camp and in missions something else that would have made it even better
Raul Diaz Yea that’s just not true. U were never gonna play as a 16 year old Arthur and that Dutch alternative ending sounds like something a random person made up to fool people. The conversations the gang has about their past is just to immerse u, rockstar does this in all their games. The main cut content was in new Austin and Arthur being able to be down there
To be fair the theatre only got cut out because they decided to make Armadillo more interesting, seems they originally planned to keep it the same as in RDR1 but then decided to make it a plague affected town

Arthur is the best video game character ever created period.
I feel like most people who prefer Arthur over John simply didn't spend enough time on the 1st RDR, I played the absolute crap out of that game so ill always put John over Arthur. I think they're both great in their own ways, I freaking hated how the epilogue of RDR2 felt like I was playing as Arthur more than John. They used the exact same body language as Arthur, when in reality John has his own unique body language in RDR1. Greatest video game character for me is Gordon Freeman even though he doesn't have a single line of dialogue

It was really sad but I quickly realised this wolf had a howling loop. It broke my perception of the realism and started to annoy me.
So yeah I thrown a Tomahawk and it was funny because the wolf collapsed on the other wolf's carcass.

The sound of the wolf howling breaks my heart
Ever since I played RDR2, I've felt just plain sad. The story itself, the easter eggs sometimes make me sad like the Marco dragic and robot one, the devil's cave, the Pagan sacrifice. Even just killing animal's makes me sad even though I know they aren't real. This game is so beautiful and it really can affect people and make them feel many emotions, that's what make it a great game.
When I did the mission given by Appleseed Timber Company's overseer (the one where you had to kill the wolves), I thought the two bodies in 6:19 were the wolves' recent victims because the mission led me to the spot where they died. In case anyone wants to try, I decided to bring one of the bodies (the headless one) back to the overseer and I got a nice additional dialogue with him.

In the last secret if my memory serves me right those guys were killed by wolves in one of the side missions for the timber company. Still could be a reference, but you made it seem like the one killed the other. Love the content though, man

In Van Horn there is an abandoned building called "Moennig & Son". On your left there are some stairs and if you go up them, you can notice that on the second floor of the abandoned building there is a strange window with pink curtains with flowers.
It is unique, very clean and feminine to be in Van Horn ... Maybe a reference to the princess?
