You guys really did good job explaining the feeding process. We live on 20acre lake in N Ga. and currently feeding catfish mostly. But the bluegill really enjoy eating it also. Gonna reevaluate our feeding process bc need those bluegill to be as healthy as possible for the big bass. Thanks for the info.....Hope you guys put out more vids soon.

Great stuff👍. Is there a potential that the fish will become too dependant on pellet feedings? Maybe a point when the pond pred/prey population ratio is stable enough to stop mechanical feedings?

As they grow, the bass will become less depending on fish food and prefer to start eating bluegill. But we always recommend having a feeder for the sunfish populations.

Very informative (all of your vids). Just stocked for the first time BG and HBG (100 ea). Ordered the Aquamax 300. Ready to roll. Question: next year after the BG spawn, what should I feed then? There will be fry and "adults". Not thinking they would eat the same product? Perhaps a combo of 300 and 400 or multi-sized feed? I think the pond is too small (0.6 acres) for Bass so I'm hoping the HBG control the population. Maybe throw in a few stripers if it gets overcrowded?

That's really cool! What inspired you to become a marine biologist?

I have a pond I dug approx. 15 years ago. I stocked it with bluegill minnows and 20 big mouth Bass , well I never fished it or fed in all these years. Yesterday I decided to see if any fish were still alive, I caught bass one after the other, all were about the same size and very skinny, no bluegill to be found. What can I do to correct my ignorance? I could really use your help and advice?
Also the pond has a lot of surface algae, I tried Pond Clear' didn't help at all, at $40.00 a gal. I expected better results, any advice on controlling and clearing the water? Thank you so much..

You don't want clear water, you want fertile water with about 18-24" of visibility. Sounds like you probably need to stock some bluegill and add a feeder.

@@TLCPerfectPond I originally stocked over a 100 bluegill and 20 b.m. bass. I think the bass ate them all. Should I thin most of the bass out before adding bluegill in the spring? Also the pond has a layer of green algae is this ok or do I need to address it. Thank you for your prior advice.

Can't afford that high dollar feed. It's expensive enough to pay$23 a bag like I buy. You have to be pretty well off to use these super expensive feeds. These others feeds are double or more in price. That's more a week than it costs to feed my family!!!

Just because they recommended a certain brand of feeder ...doesn't mean that's the only feeder..I paid 150 $ on Amazon for one

Mentioned pellet fed bass… how? Only see bluegill and catfish eating when feeding using floating feed from tractor supply. Throwing for 5 minute every other night. Southern TN

The only affordable place I can get mvp since I swapped to it recently was tsc. They just went from$56 to $69..... just ordered a bag of 500 and 600 since they're still $56. If they go up I'll have to go back to the cheap stuff.... They're pricing themselves out of customers with this bs. Stupid
