I have a 1985 Olds Cutlass Supreme and I've been rebuilding my AC system following your footsteps. The fresh air blend door on mine is metal with a foam-like seal that has completely deteriorated. I noticed yours is white plastic with a nice rubber seal. Interestingly enough my hot/cold blend door uses a rubber seal like yours though. Speaking of these rubber seals, do you know of any replacements? Did GM even offer these parts separately? Thanks for these videos series!
That's the one seal I didn't replace. You may have to line the seal up where it fits the door well and make new holes. You could also shop for a similar foam stock and use the one from the kit as a template and cut new holes that line up with the door. I would just modify the one you have to work.
Always :-) I used Bulldog Adhesion Promoter and 3 or so coats of Eastwood Underhood Black. Same as the rest of the firewall. Keep watching the series, I'm sure I mention it.
Thanks sooo much! My box had a broken torsion spring, so I had to make a new one. Nobody sells them…
Thank you 🙏 working on a 1979 El Camino
Thanks!! I hope it helps with the project. Let me know how it turns out.
Well do currently rewatching all three vids
Ive made a playlist of the entire ac box deal. I want to thank you, because i now understand how this all works, i am refurbishing mine currently.
Thanks! Good luck with the rebuild!

You can pick up a rebuild kit from gbodyparts, or Mike's Montes. I'm not sure if you can just get that one seal though.
Phenomenal attention to detail!
In having issues wit the seal from 3:30 the holes don't line up. What u think?

I remember you saying that 1 piece didn't come with the kit. I don't recall you talking about it again. Do you recall which one it was?
Hmmm. Maybe the seal for the leaf guard. You may have to rewatch a video or two to see what I said. It'll probably come to me later.
@@hutchhiperf I think I did. I'll look at the video again. Thanks.
I hope you still answer comments..lol. did you paint the a/c Box itself. if so what did you used

Do you have a place where you can order the whole box? Trying to restore my 85 regal. The old one is smashed
Not that I know of. Time for a yard crawl. Good donors are still available.
thanks for the informative videos. I will be doing the same thing with my 85 Monte
